Real World Recovery Gear Up
475 days have passed since the USFS burned me out of house and homestead by carelessly igniting the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire. My off-grid house and everything in it was totally destroyed. FEMA is dragging its flat, bureaucratic feet compensating me for losses to the fire which means I must gear up to begin rebuilding from scratch myself while they do whatever it is they must do to finally get around to it all. The homesite is located at the end of a remote, unimproved jeep trail situated in mountainous terrain at 8000 ft elevation. I set up temporary off-grid living accommodation (in an overland pickup camper) there before commencing work to rebuild. It might be as little as another year—or who’s know how many more years beyond that highly optimistic estimate—before reconstruction can be completed as FEMA carries on with its clouded, convoluted, inefficient rigamarole of mandatory, inflexible processes. My accommodations in the meantime must be substantial enough for long-term stays, totally off-grid powered, easy to use, and reliable. A key element of this off-grid living kit is a large, portable refrigerator/freezer for keeping a considerable quantity of food (at least 150 meals worth) to avoid having to repeatedly trip to and from town to restock the larder. This spacious, dual-zone portable refrigerator/freezer energized by an 1800W/1152Wh power station which is being recharged daily using a 350W foldable PV array is exactly what I need to keep enough food on site as reconstruction progresses. Using them together now for three days with the CFX3 95DZ stuffed to the brim (see photo), has required no additional power source whatsoever (even beneath moderately cloudy skies), and it is so sweet being able to monitor both the CFX3 and the power station/PV array status via Bluetooth. They both fit nicely into the overland rig bed with out having to sacrifice convenient accessibility, providing as perfect a solution as I had imagined. ☮️ & 💜 & 🔆

THE FRIGGIN BEST COOLER I HAVE EVER SEEN
BADASS- is there more to say. Cold for days ifyou dont leave it. Can power ig many ways. I suppose you could figure a way to have a mouse running a little wheel turning ä small generators. We use our ä boat to supplement our refrigerator. The most efficient little cooler I have ever seen,.buy it you will not be sorry

Good unit, some minor quirks
This is a good and huge unit! Overall it was excellent at maintaining the set temperature to within a couple degrees, however when set to the coldest setting, the app doesn't show below -5 degrees. Not a big deal but confusing at first. The dual zone feature worked great. There were however some issues with the 12v DC plug. When running at the coldest setting and for multiple hours it would suddenly cut out and stop working. The only way to reset was to wait and pull the plug then re-insert. It was random and wouldn't come back on unless you intervened. the AC plug option worked fine so it showed a flaw in the DC connection specifically. If you weren't paying attention this could ruin your food. Be aware and test the plug for a few days straight before committing to this fridge. Other than that, a great solid build!
