This is a completely different experience than the cheap $25 or $30 butane stoves. Very well made, very durable case, sets-up in minutes. Butane is a very nice alternative to propane for a portable camp stove and offers very nice heat control, much lower than your normal propane camp stove. This stove is rugged enough, and strong enough for a fairly heavy pot or pan. The wind-guard works very well, this keeps a very good flame even in windy conditions. A butane cylinder seems to last longer than the 1lb propane bottles, but cost considerably less, as the cost of 1lb propane cylinders just keeps going up. Butane cylinders lock in place with a magnetic catch, no levers or buttons to deal with. The ignitor works every time! I would recommend you make-sure to get the proper butane cylinders with a rim vent release system, usually a blue ring. This ensures a cylinder that's overheated will vent, rather than fail catastrophically.

Ich bin begeistert von dem Gaskocher von Fore Winds! Die Verarbeitung ist absolut hochwertig, und man merkt sofort, dass hier die Qualität fokussiert wird. Der Kocher ist kompakt, leicht und dennoch extrem robust – genau das was ich gesucht hatte. Der Gaskocher lässt sich simpel an- und ausschalten, und die Flammenregulierung ist präzise, sodass man die Hitze optimal anpassen kann. Die Leistung ist stark genug, um auch größere Töpfe oder Pfannen zu verwenden, und die Hitzeverteilung ist gleichmäßig. I’ve owned a couple of these butane stoves in the past and this one is the best, especially for picnics and camping. I like the wind deflecting design which keeps the stove lit even in breezy conditions. Would highly recommend it.
