Short answer: yes, they work, and they work better than I expected. The 410-grade stainless feels solid — no wobble, no cheap plastic, and the points come precise instead of rounded like some of the cheaper sets I've seen pictured. The loop end handles blackheads cleanly, and the lance end works for whiteheads that have already surfaced. The pressure distributes more evenly than fingertips, which I think is the real difference: less skin trauma and less of that bruised, sore-the-next-day spot you get when you go at it the old-fashioned way. That said, I want to be honest — this is not a comfortable experience and I am definitely not an esthetician. There's a learning curve. It didn't have the tiny razor inside the circle as I thought it would have. The one I used to have, the razor part scrapes the zit or blackhead right off. This tool for me after pressing down over my zit, it just just rolled over it.
