Two out of three cats love it, but product is expensive
Nulo Simply Shreds Food Topper Nutrition for Cats & Kittens, Variety Pack, 2.5 Ounce Pouches, 12 Count The simply shreds cat food topper comes attractively packaged in a retail marked recyclable light cardboard box. The exterior of the box has photos of the products as well as ingredient list and feeding guidelines. The product that I'm testing is the combination package variety pack of turkey recipe and chicken recipe, both in a bone broth. Each of the shredded toppers comes in its own tear open pouch that is well sealed to keep the product fresh. Each of the individual packages has also listed all of the ingredients . The package tears open easily enough, and be prepared because the contents of the package are mainly liquid. There is a lot of broth in this! [Even though the ad bills it as mainly ‘shreds’, and indeed the pictures show mostly shreds in the bowl, keep in mind that these toppers are at least three quarters liquid, and not that many shreds of meat inside.] You may want to be a little careful when you open the bag, because when you're holding it firm enough to tear off the top, you're likely to have a little bit squeeze over into your hand, and even though it's healthy for cats, it feels gooey in your hand. I fared better on the second pouch using a pair of scissors to open it. (At least with this tuff of a plastic on the pouch, it's going to keep everything fresh.) Even though the little pouches are pretty small, once you pour it out into your cat dish, it looks like a lot more. I have an older cat that's very picky about his food, and will often sniff its treats allowing his brother to scoop it out from under his nose. He took one sniff of it, and proceeded to immediately lick and gobble up all of the broth and chicken chunks. We had a similar effect serving the turkey broth to one of our other cats. Our third cat, however, licked up the broth but didn't care for the meat part. For this cat we added it as a topper on the dry kibble food , and she did eat the kibble that was soaked in the juice but ignored the meat. To my human nose, this smells like chicken soup or a turkey pot pie. I know this is not human food, but it smells enough like regular human food that it probably could be. The bottom line on this product? You could use it straight for a treat or put it on top of hard food for a wet and crunchy meal for your cat. Either way, if you have a picky cat I think they may be interested in this. Price wise, even though it's a fairly good product, I think that the suggested retail price is way too high. I couldn't see myself buying this on a regular basis.

Recommended: but I don't get it
I understand high end cat litter. Commodity cat litter--much less discount brands--have been so debased over the last several years, that they no longer do what cat litter is supposed to: clump when wet and control odor. High end cat litter WORKS. I totally get the idea or paying more for a product that works rather than less for one that doesn't. I don't get high end cat food. I just don't. The direction on the box of this food advises 3-4 packets per day per 8 lbs of cat. That means a $31 box lasts 2-3 days for a mid-sized cat and less for kittens and big cats. A really big cat would eat a box and a half per day. You could feed a cat real meat, actual salmon, and actual chicken (and a multivitamin). And this stuff is NINTY PERCENT water. It's only 7% protein. It's basically a smidge of meat with broth. So, no, I don't get it. But, for what this is, and even though I don't get it, it's good stuff (thus the high star rating). It's has real meat, real bone broth, real vegis, and appropriate vitamins, minerals, and taurine. My dog inhaled it and licked the wrapper (I don't have a foster cat in house, but will update when I do). I'm not convinced of its value as a sole food for your cat, but it might make a nice treat, or something to pour over their commodity cat food to make it more attractive. If you have money to burn, don't have time to make your own cat food, and you basically want to feed the something better than kibble or can, this is it.

Overpriced
For some reason the pack I bought on here had about half the shreds, the ones I bought from chewy had. It's also REALLY overpriced considering how little you get.

My cats fight over this
My two cats go absolutely crazy for these food toppers. The moment I tear open a pouch, they are right at my feet, meowing like they haven’t eaten in days. I love that the ingredients are simple and high quality—just real shredded meat in broth with no unnecessary fillers. It makes me feel good knowing I’m giving them something both nutritious and delicious. I usually mix it with their regular wet food, and they devour everything, even if it’s a flavor they’d normally be picky about. Sometimes, I just serve it on its own as a little treat, especially when I want to spoil them. The portion sizes are perfect for adding extra protein and moisture to their diet without overfeeding. The only downside is that they now expect this at every meal, and if I don’t add it, I get the most dramatic stares of disappointment. Safe to say, this has officially become a must-have in my house.

Not worth it, gross and watery.
I was very disappointed with the quality of this food. I love the brand but not these toppers. I'm not sure if it's because of the type of topper it is but it's comes out mostly watery and it's a complete mess. Pass on this one.

My Picky Cat Loved This!
I recently started using this as a food topper for my cats, and it's been a total hit in our house! One of my cats, who is usually a pretty picky eater, goes absolutely nuts the moment I open one of the pouches. It’s really satisfying to see him so excited about his meals. He is a senior cat, and not always enthusiastic about change. The variety pack is especially nice because it gives some flexibility to mix things up. I’ve noticed he does seem to appreciate the different flavors—no mealtime boredom here! The texture looks fresh and natural, and the ingredient list is simple and straightforward, however there is more broth than shreds. This is a bonus, as with my senior cat, I'm always concerned about making sure he has adequate hydration. One thing I really appreciate is how easy the pouches are to use. They’re the perfect size for a single meal, and the packaging makes it simple to pour without making a mess. The only slight downside is that they’re a bit pricey for the amount you get, but considering how much my picky cats enjoy them, I feel like it’s worth it for a special treat or occasional topper. Overall, this is a great addition to their feeding routine. If you’re looking for a way to make your cat’s meals more exciting or to treat a picky eater, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try!

Not liked by any of my cats
Nulo shreds look like a good option for cats and they come in a bone broth mixture, but unfortunately none of my three cats really took to the product. One cat liked the liquid part but that was it. I was surprised at how much liquid is in these but I guess because they are a topper that's why. Smell was ok and they look decent out of the pack, but my cats weren't interested much unfortunately. I think less liquid would be good too. The pouch is handy for storage though and easy to open. Good flavors and would work well as a treat for cats who like the product.
