How do you set the display where all the numbers are big? it shows a picture where there all big?

There is a select button to cycle though a choice of display options. There is also a zero button along with an on/off button (if my 78 y.o. memory serves me correctly). If that doesn't do what you want, I'm out of guesses. One observation might be that only whole and NOT fractional numbers appear large. Hope this helps.

What size screw is needed for battery cover? I tried jeweler screws but they are too small. I lost mine replacing battery.

I'm not sure but if you go to lowes or tractor supply I'm sure you'll find what you need fairly easy.

What is the casing of the digital readout made of? Plastic or metal?

The description says the housing is made of metal with a silver paint finish. Feel and weight suggests metal construction. It is heavier than others I have that are plastic.
