Amazing mini PC for retro gaming, streaming and general office work!
So declaration of interest, I have a GMKTek G3 already (N150 model) and thought I'd buy a second one for a dedicated TV box to play retro games. Amazon did a superb job with same day delivery and I've spent the evening setting it up. First impressions: This thing is tiny! See the photos, the device was supplied in it's box without any additional packaging which was about the size of 2 iPhone boxes stacked on top of each other! It truly fits in the the palm of your hand and you could really flip it into your backpack and take it anywhere with you! Specs and ports: The device is powered by Intel N97 processor, 12gb soldered on DDR5 ram (CPU-Z identifies these as Samsung), and has a generic TSCW 512gb SATA drive. In terms of connectivity, the device has 2 x USB 3 A on the front, one on the back as well as a single USB C port. Please note that the USB C port is only used to supply power. I tried it with my Anker Gan C charger and no issues at all. There are two HDMI ports and handily a TF card reader which is brilliant if you like retro games/handhelds. It's something that was dropped from my daily driver (Intel NUC) which I do miss. Set-up: On first boot, the G5 expands a pre-imaged W11 Pro installation that takes some time. After that, updates can take a couple of hours, I left this on and walked away for a bit. One thing to note is that the device comes preconfigured to go to 12W max, I changed this in the BIOS to 15W max and only got a marginal increase in fan noise. Performance & speed: This PC is suitable for casual office use with no issues with Word, Excel, Powerpoint 365 and general internet browsing. I left it streaming Youtube 4K for a bit to see if it would overheat and no issues there. I did a slightly unscientific test and zapped it at 30cm distance with my heat camera pointed at the side vents and about 42 degrees after general use. Storage: There is a generic TSCW 512gb drive in there which I tested with CrystalDiskInfo 8 and I've uploaded a screenshot of the speed. Ok for casual use and I'm not sure if it's upgradeable. Overall: This is an excellent Mini PC for those looking for office work, retro gaming, server/media home use. It's been stable, whisper quiet and I think I'll replace my GMKTek G3 with this as it's quite a bit smaller under the TV and can take a USB C supply which makes travelling with it really easy! 5* from me.

Great little Windows PC no bigger than your Mouse
I have a number of Windows PCs which are coming to the end of Microsoft Support for Windows 10, so was looking for a PC to use for some everyday activities plus the ability to run some of my older games to free up space on my gaming PC. This GMK tec Mini does the job really well and its quite a fun novelty that it is about the same size as my mouse. It feels fast for ordinary operations such as web browsing. It comes with Windows 11 preloaded but it is installed with a small footprint and consequently the hard disk isn't instantly cluttered as soon as you add a game or two (but I did opt for the larger 512GB). Yes it will play older games quiet well and supports Direct X12, so you can probably get even fairly recent games to work at low settings. I can between get 20 and 40 fps for Guild Wars 2 but it does vary depending on how busy the game is. Its not a games machine but, you can run titles such as the above or Skyrim with acceptable performance and save some space on your gaming PC. It supports two 4K Monitors, but I have a 1080p monitor so it I'm not using its full capabilities. If your not a PC expert worth noting that you have to supply your own Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse and HDMI cables. I have recycled a USB Keyboard and Mouse, but that leaves just one free USB socket. It would benefit from a couple more USB sockets even older ones to allow other peripherals to be added. I get sound through bluetooth link to a speaker, there is also a headphone socket. The plug is a UK standard, which might not have been obvious from Amazon pictures. It would help to have a bit longer power lead. So in conclusion I'm happy with this purchase and glad I didn't spend more on one of these mini's that is designated a gaming machine as, I think then I might have been disappointed as they are also utilising integrated GPUs. Probably you need to shop around for what is best for you on performance/ price. But the GMK tec mini is providing me with what I wanted. It will be interesting to see how it lasts.

reasonable but basic mini pc
The GMKtec G3 Pro mini PC is reasonable but a bit more mixed once you look closer. The biggest selling point is the price — it’s around £210, which is cheap for a full desktop PC although there are better more modern potential alternatives nearer the £300 price point. It also comes with a 3-year warranty, which is actually pretty reassuring at this price and makes it feel a bit less risky to buy. Size & First Impressions This thing is tiny. Genuinely palm-sized — You could easily toss it in a backpack and take it anywhere, which is part of the appeal. Ports Front: 2 x USB3.2 (Gen1*1), Rear: 2 x USB3.2 (Gen1*1 ), 2 x HDMI, 1 x 2.5G LAN (RJ45) Specs • Processor: Intel Core i3 10110U (from 2019) - okay single core speeds, weak multi-core • Graphics: built in Intel UHD graphics - ok 2D, very weak 3D but can play simple games • RAM: 8GB DDR4 - reasonable speed but bare minimum for modern computing • Storage: 256GB M2 SSD (SATA not NVME) drive - reasonable speeds • Wireless Connectivity: Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 - reasonably modern standards so good for most requirements In terms of specs, it’s powered by an Intel Core i3-10110U, which is quite an old dual-core processor from around 2019, along with Intel UHD 620 graphics. On paper that sounds outdated, and it is, but it’s still perfectly usable for basic tasks like web browsing, streaming, office and school work. What’s interesting is that even though the CPU is old, it’s actually not that far off some newer low-end chips. In real terms, that means for everyday stuff like opening apps or browsing and office apps, the older i3 can still feel just as responsive, even if it falls behind in heavier multitasking. Storage of 256GB in terms of capacity this could easily fill up if you have too many apps or photos and videos to store. Surprising thing is the upgrade potential. It supports up to 32GB of older DDR4 RAM and up to 2TB of storage (with two M.2 slots), which is great considering how basic the processor is. It almost feels like the rest of the system is much more capable than the CPU itself. My guess is recent PC component supply problems with RAM and GPUs has forced this situation. Connectivity is also pretty modern — you get USB 3.2, HDMI, 2.5G Ethernet, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2, all in a really compact box and the fan noise is minimal in most scenarios. So externally, it doesn’t feel outdated at all. The downside is still performance. Because the processor and graphics are older, you won’t be doing anything demanding like gaming, video editing, or heavy multitasking. It’s really just for simple, everyday use. Out of the box the bios had set the cpu to balanced mode and so I changed it to high performance to eek out a bit more performance as shown in the second passmark score picture attached. Overall, I’d say it’s a decent option if you just want a cheapish, basic PC or maybe something like a home server or secondary machine. The warranty and upgrade options are nice bonuses, and the CPU isn’t quite as “bad” as it sounds. But at the same time, there are newer mini PCs only a bit more pricey that offer better performance, so it’s not necessarily the best solution for everyone - for near £200 this is okay but I would not pay more. In my case I needed a spare cheap machine to run linux and basic server utilities like Home Assistant and OpenClaw for which this is the bare minimum.

The little helper
Firstly, for the money you are actually getting a full blown Win 11 Pro system. Easy to start - straight out the box, plug in, connect to an HDMI screen and that's it. Log in to your Microsoft account to activate though, as it will error if you skip this step in setup. Once setup and updated - you are good to go. WARNING the USB type C plug is 12V 3A - NOT 5V. Do not use on your phone. The specs are good - especially for the money. 12GB DDR5 RAM, half terabyte SSD with 4 threads on the gen 12 CPU and 2 HDMI 4K outputs make this a very useful bit of kit. Top tip - go into msconfig and the advanced tab in 'boot' to enable all 4 threads. Wifi communication is good and download speeds are normal. This is before you use the RJ45. Both the SSD and Wifi are accessible from the bottom panel an are upgradable. I used my 3 way folding blu tooth keyboard and touchpad that worked well. Would suggest separate mouse. Sound and video playback are more than sufficient, but this is not a mainstream gaming machine. That said - earlier games and Wii/PS2 emulation have been tested and proven to be good. The only downside I can say is worth mentioning is that the USB sockets are underpowered - they do not provide even 1A. You cannot use an optical drive for just one port. A 2 socket 'Y' splitter has been successfully used to get around this. I installed over my network with an optical drive shared in the properties of the host machine. All in all, a very portable, lightweight travel companion - or for a humble home user that doesn't need a full blown rig.

Reliable for Work and Light Gaming – Impressive Performance with Minor Drawbacks
Review: I purchased the GMKTec K11 for personal use and have tested it for a few weeks across office tasks, creative work, and casual gaming. Here’s my honest take: Everyday Use: It handles 4K streaming, multitasking, and everyday apps really well. The setup took around 40 minutes for updates, but it’s been smooth since then. Gaming: I was surprised by how playable some recent AAA games were at low to medium settings. It’s not made for ultra graphics, but it’s definitely good enough for casual gaming. Creative Work: Solid for 1080p photo/video editing. 4K editing is slower but manageable for short projects. Design: It’s compact and saves a ton of desk space. Power usage stays low, even during longer sessions. Pros: - Quiet during light tasks; minimal footprint - Responsive performance for work and light gaming Cons: - RGB lighting stays on, no option to turn off - Fans get louder under heavier workloads - Needed a manual graphics driver install to get dual screens working Final Thoughts: Overall, I’m really happy with this little machine. It’s become my go-to for work, streaming, and casual gaming sessions. The RGB lights staying on and fan noise under load are minor annoyances, but easy to live with considering how well it performs. If you need something compact and efficient for everyday tasks, content editing, or light AAA gaming at medium settings, this does the job nicely. Just keep in mind it’s not meant to replace a full-on gaming PC.

Ideal Media Centre
Amazing! I am blown away with this micro PC. I did fully intended to format the SSD and install Linux Mint 22.1 on it, but, having feet in both Windows and Linux camps, I decided to keep Windows 11 (for the foreseeable future). I fully updated it to 24H2, plus newer intel graphics drivers and this little gem is working great. I'm not a gamer and never will be, but, I'm using this as a media center and it is perfectly capable of delivering great pictures, sound and video via USB, Bluetooth, WiFi and HDMI through my sound system and 42" monitor. It has a decent sized SSD along with a good CPU. Plus, the micro sd slot should be handy too. The only drawback with this machine is the lack of a USB C port for data transfers and other external devices. I saw that before making my purchase but I got around this with my multi port USB 3 Type A hub. Honestly, this is fabulous machine AND it is powerful too; much better than the rubbish you can buy for a similar price online, or on the high street (mentioning no names). Impressed? You Bet. Cons: Now my desktop looks bare; having replaced my ageing Dell 7010 with this tiny little PC, I have more room for clutter and dust. Great product. Thanks

Mighty but small
Mighty but small is how I would describe this pc. Very straight forward set up. Needed to carry out some updates but had no issues. So far WIFI works fine. Nice speed for what I need this to do. Mainly office work browsing web and watching a few videos. Build quality seems good and solid. Box a little warm but for the size totally expect this. Very quiet hardly notice its running. The only gripe would be no data input via usb-c. would I purchase again of course time will tell how it holds up but so far so good.

Recomendable.

Perfect for a Home assistant server, very very small
This thing is tiny. Really. It feels like a toy, like it shouldn't be able to do what it does. Personally, I am using it to run Home assistant OS. That is all it does, it does it well, and without fuss. The cons would be the lack of any USB C ports, oh and too few USB ports, but that said, I managed to make things work with a usb hub. It is now in my basement, doing its job, with no fuss. I like it.

Bluetooth 5.0 e wifi molto validi.
