Does this protect from an EMP blast?

Your key will work fine if it is in the pouch.  However, your car will not, unless it is underground or in a heavily shielded building.  Of course, that depends on the type of EMP effect.  A High Altitude EMP (caused by a nuclear device) will affect large electronic devices (computers and above) much more than smaller devices.  The effects of the EMP diminish with distance and a wider range of electronics are affected closer to the source.  
A localized non-nuclear EMP, or High Power Microwave (HPM), will affect a smaller array of devices, depending on the type of device, distance, duration of EMP, and other factors.
A natural EMP-like occurrence, such as a Coronal Mass Ejection from the sun or another star, could be seen or detected by astrologists, but still have devastating effects.
Then again, the world experiences EMPs daily in the form of Lightning EMP (LEMP).  LEMP emits huge amounts of energy (mega-amps and above).  LEMPs will snatch your key fob out of the Faraday case and fuse it to your bones, then laugh as the follow on pulses play a symphony with your brain....  But your car will work just fine.

Can the pouch be attached to a belt, as in the advertisement picture; or, is that fake?

It's fake. I was attracted to that feature, but there is no way to attach it to a belt. The pouch is pretty big and it has only a small clip. You can clip it to a belt loop but it takes some doing.
