Seagate Barracuda Pro 1TB Hard Drive
I’ve had this drive running in my Homebase 3 Eufy security setup for a while now, and it’s been working perfectly fine with no issues at all. It’s quiet in general, feels like nice quality, and performs smoothly. The only small downsides are that it does vibrate a fair bit and makes a bit of a sound that’s hard to describe. It can also get a little hot at times, but that seems perfectly normal. Overall, it’s been reliable, fast, and solid well worth it and I genuinely enjoy using it.

10/10
This HHD works just as expected. It’s easy to install if you know what you’re doing and know your way around the inside of your PC. It’s very good quality which is why I love Seagate. It is quite heavy but that didn't cause any problems for me. It’s worth the price, with stuff like this it’s better to not go for the cheap stuff and go with a trusted brand. Overall 10/10 and i recommend.

Lasted 3 years and didn't fail catastrophically
I bought 2 of these about a year apart, the oldest has just failed at just over 3 years, it didn't fail catastrophically, but over a few weeks the errors increased dramatically, which gave me time to ensure my backups were up to date. Although some may think 3 years is good for pretty much continuous use, I personally expect a minimum of 5 years, the majority of my drives usually at least this long (some even older) I actually have around a dozen, some in NAS units. So to sum up: The quality, is only reasonably good, the fact it just didn't stop and gave me time to check my backups, gives it the fourth star. It obviously looses one for not lasting the expected 5 years but I maybe just have higher expectations.

Works well and why I got less space is mentioned bellow.
Formated 14TB drive and got 13.7TB out of the HDD. Why Your Hard Drive Shows Less Space Than Advertised If you’ve paid attention to hard drives, USB flash drives, and other storage devices, you may have noticed that they always have less space than promised once they’re formatted. The reason for this difference lies in the way hard drive manufacturers advertise their devices, versus the way Windows computers actually use the storage devices. There’s also some overhead required when Windows formats your drive, for the file system and boot data, though in comparison to today’s large hard drives, it’s not a lot. To a hard disk manufacturer, one KB is 1000 bytes, one MB is 1000 KB, and one GB is 1000 MB. Essentially, if a hard disk is advertised as 500GB, it contains 500 * 1000 * 1000 * 1000 = 500,000,000,000 bytes of space. The hard disk manufacturer thus advertises the disk as a 500 GB hard disk. However, manufacturers of RAM don’t sell it in even groups of 1000 – they use groups of 1024. When you’re buying memory, a KB is 1024 bytes, a MB is 1024 KB, and a GB is 1024 MB. To work back from the 500,000,000,000 bytes above: 500,000,000,000 / (1024*1024*1024) = 465.66 GB Keep in mind that the hard drive manufacturers are using the accurate description of the terms–the prefix giga, for instance, means a power of 1000, whereas the correct term for powers of 1024 is gibibyte, though it isn’t often used. Unfortunately, Windows has always calculated hard drives as powers of 1024 while hard drive manufacturers use powers of 1000. That’s a difference of nearly 35 GB over what the average buyer would be led to believe a hard drive contains. If hard disks were advertised in terms of the amount of space they actually contained when you connected them to your Windows computer, a 1 TB hard drive would be labeled a 931 GB hard drive instead. Alternatively, Windows could update their UI to use the correct definition of gigabyte–other operating systems, like OS X, have already changed their representation to correctly state the right amount of space.

Inadequate packaging leads to dead drives.
Hard drives can be kinda sensitive. Most of your PC has no moving parts; hard drives, on the other hand, are clusters of thin discs, spinning about a thousand times a second, read through a magnet nanometers away from their surface. If anything gets misaligned even slightly, the results can be subtle or catastrophic. You can't chuck HDDs around the way you can most modern storage media, they need to be treated with a bit of care. So I was already on my guard when the two drives I ordered turned up in a cardboard sleeve and two thin plastic bags, and no actual protective padding. Who sends hard drives without even bubble-wrap? One of the drives was clearly dead on arrival, just put it in, system couldn't recognise it, and it made odd clunking sounds, as though the drive was trying to get the head in place to read something and couldn't get started. I popped the other drive in though, and things seemed to get moving. This was where I made my terrible mistake; assuming it was fine, and sending the first for a refund. Nope. That second drive seems to be busted too, just more subtly. I got some partitions set up at first and started copying data across, but then everything just started failing. Moved it across to another machine, and it could see the partitions, but couldn't use them. I was able to delete those partitions, but trying to create new ones just gives a "fatal device hardware error". I don't know for sure if these were damaged in transit, or if something else is going on... it's a bit odd that these weren't in the original packaging, makes me think they may be reconditioned/recycled without sufficient quality checks to make sure they were ready for resale... but either way, from this seller, these are only useful as paperweights. Hopefully I can still open a return on the second.

Great value for money!
I'm very pleased with this 8TB HDD so far. It's set up as a single-drive Raspberry Pi4B NAS under my TV for storing movies, music, photos, and backing up other important files from my main PC across wired Gigabit Ethernet. Small file write speeds are a little slow as would be expected for an SMR drive, but large files can be written or read across the network at speeds that easily saturate the Gigabit connection even with the drive ~70% full. If you're familiar with the potential shortcomings of an SMR drive and don't see them as a significant downside for your use case, I'd highly recommend this one as it's also great value for money and very quiet in operation.
