Quick easy setup.
This 12-gauge trip wire alarm is an effective and reliable security tool for outdoor enthusiasts, campers, or anyone needing a perimeter warning system. Made from durable metal, it’s easy to set up with a simple trip line and can be loaded with various 12-gauge blanks, flares, or noisemakers to alert you to movement. Its compact design makes it portable and discreet, ideal for securing campsites or other areas. The alarm is loud and noticeable, providing an immediate response. However, proper care should be taken during setup to avoid accidental triggering. Overall, it’s a solid, practical deterrent for added security.

Not for indoor use
Unsurprisingly, you should not use this indoors. :)The instructions included give some guidance on setup and recommendations on 12-gauge based noisemakers/light signals to use. I tested it with a 12-gauge snap-cap practice load, so I only got a "clink" sound, but that was enough to show the tripwire worked. (by the way, that's a loud enough sound if you are in a quiet environment without waking up the whole forest)Setup was easy, though I'm not sure my suburban life really needs one of these. Maybe a flare load and give it to the college kid for a late night prank....

Firing Pin is way to long.
I received this item for free thorough the Amazon Vine Program. First off, this is the first Trip Alarm of this type that I've owned. I know there's a lot of manufactures with roughly the same design or concept. Not sure if all of them have this products same flaw or not. The problem lies in the length of the firing pin. When the items triggered, the firing pin strikes the primer and it goes bang. Then the hassle begins. You cant simply pull the firing pin back and remove the spent cartridges. The firing pin drives into the primer literally about 3/16 of a inch. Therefore it completely destroys it to the point you obstructing/blocking the cartridge from simply sliding out of its seat. Took me a couple minutes with wire pliers to get the first one removed. Tried it again and had the exact same outcome. If you in the woods and actually need this device, you don't want to deal with this. Why make the firing pin drive so deep when all it needs is about 1/16 to fire the cartridge?

Good perimeter alarm, but lacks primer holder.
The alarm looks like it'll do what it's supposed to do, but lacks the metal holder for a primer. This means you need to buy rather expensive "popper" blanks that are single use, rather than relatively inexpensive primers that can be loaded into the steel "base" that generally comes with these alarms.
