XGIMI Elfin Flip 4K Portable Projector with wifi and bluetooth, Google TV

I’ve owned more projectors than I care to admit, including models from XGIMI, JMGO, and Nebula, and the Elfin Flip 4K has become my favorite “grab-and-go” projector. What surprised me most wasn’t just the image quality, it was how easy it is to actually live with. The Flip design protects the lens, the projector is compact enough to toss into a backpack, and setup only takes a minute. Unlike some portable projectors that feel like compromises, this one genuinely feels premium. The image is incredibly sharp. Native 4K combined with the RGB triple laser produces vibrant colors and excellent detail. I found the picture noticeably crisper than several other portable projectors I’ve owned. For movie nights and casual gaming it looks fantastic. The Google TV interface is fast, Netflix is officially supported, and the optical zoom is a feature I didn’t realize I’d appreciate so much until I started moving it between rooms. There are a couple of things worth mentioning. I actually disabled the automatic obstacle avoidance and screen alignment features because I preferred setting the image exactly how I wanted. Once disabled, it has been rock solid. Also, since it doesn’t have an internal battery, you’ll need power wherever you use it, but that tradeoff allows it to be much brighter than battery-powered competitors. For me, this has become the projector I take on trips, move around the house, and use whenever I don’t want to drag out a larger home theater setup. Pros * Outstanding 4K image quality * Compact and easy to transport * Excellent Google TV experience * Optical zoom is genuinely useful * Great value for the performance Cons * Auto setup features can occasionally be overzealous (easy to disable) * Requires AC power If you’re looking for one projector that can move from the bedroom to the living room to vacation without sacrificing image quality, I don’t think there’s a better option anywhere near this price point.

I got this for my daughter's birthday at her request for this specific model. I researched upgrades, found I could spend more, but I didn't see a slam dunk better value plus the small form factor and easy stow / setup was important to her. She is totally happy with it, rubbing it in her sister's face whose few years old one doesn't have the auto keyhole and focus feature. Darn kids.

Compared it to my previous Xgimi Horizon pro 4K (lcd). This new projector definitely doesn't have 1600 iso lumens - it's approx 30% less bright than 1500 lumens Horizon. And picture settings like brightness/contrast do nothing. But it has awesome optical zoom, way better keystone tune, good contrast, eyes auto protection, great gimbal and compact portable design. Google TV is slow and full of ads as always, I prefer Android TV much more. I'm still thinking about return this projector because of low brightness but cannot find alternative for the price <$1000

I’m very impressed with this portable projector. The picture quality is clear and bright, even in a moderately lit room. It’s compact, lightweight, and very easy to set up, making it perfect for movies, gaming, or outdoor use. The built-in speaker sounds decent, and connecting to phones or laptops is quick and simple. For the price, the performance exceeded my expectations. Definitely a great purchase!

For the price, this is a stellar little machine. I'm really impressed by how bright it is, and how clear the picture is even on a bare wall (no screen). It's easy to navigate right out of the box. Plugged it in, turned it on, away we go. Native Netflix is a great feature; I wish there were more apps directly on the OS. Maybe future updates will improve the number of apps. The projector is super light and easy to move around. I didn't feel it getting too hot while I used it (longest time so far 2.5 hours in one session). The fan is super quiet. The remote is responsive. Still messing with the settings to get it exactly right. The built-in speaker is clear and loud, and sounds better than bluetooth connected speakers. Overall, this is a great value projector and I'm really glad I bought it. Some caveats- I'm not using it to replace a tv or be my only screen, it's not a "home theater," and I'm not using it outside. It's the thing I'm using for parties, sports events, and casual movie nights with friends. I think it's perfect for that, but I don't think I would want this to be my only machine (gaming, zoom calls, binging shows, etc etc).

I've been happy with the picture quality and general performance of this projector, but want to flag a real playback bug for anyone who streams a lot of HEVC/H.265 content (common with some streaming apps, and those that use Plex/Jellyfin media servers). Certain HEVC Main10 files — specifically Level 5.0 profile content, which isn't unusual for 1080p/4K TV and movies — crash the onboard hardware decoder with an error (OMX.MS.HEVC.Decoder, error code 0x90000001). This happens regardless of which app you're using; I confirmed it fails identically through multiple different media apps, and even when playing the file directly from a USB drive with no streaming involved at all — so it's not an app issue, it's the projector's decoder itself. I did extensive testing to isolate this (confirmed it's not my file, not my network, not my server) and reported it to XGIMI support with full logs and a reproducible test file built from public-domain footage. Their response confirmed the bug but said they have no plans to fix it via firmware update. Their suggested workaround is to transcode affected content to H.264 before playback, which works but requires extra server-side processing power or manual intervention steps, if you're self-hosting media — not something a lot of buyers streaming directly from apps will have the option to do. If you mostly watch via built-in streaming apps (Netflix, etc.), you likely won't hit this. But if you're using this with Plex, Jellyfin, or similar for a personal media library, be aware this is a known, unresolved limitation.

I’ve been using this projector for a while now and I’m really happy with it. Setup was super easy. I had it up and running in minutes with no hassle. It’s a Google TV platform. The portable design is clean and compact, and it fits nicely in my bedroom without taking up much space. Picture quality is solid for the price. It’s clear, colors look good. I love the adjustable stand because I can tilt it and watch comfortably from bed, or take it to project a backyard football game! Only small downside is brightness, it’s a bit dim in a well-lit room. But in a dark setting, it looks great. Really non issue. Already recommending my friends to buy this exact model.

I had hoped for big things considering it is designed by reputable XGIMI company… What it does well - runs quiet, smooth menu that’s honestly about it. Maybe you can use a PD battery pack but waqs not able to confirm as I returned it. What it does poorly: Is not very bright and only even usable on a white wall or ceiling didn’t do well on a projector 2 layer white/black backed screen. No way this is 450 lumens..no way It’s extremely unstable on its design very tipsy and cheap plastic build, and no easy way to carry it when its folded There is no audio adjustments like an equalizer very disappointing! The projector was supposed to be short throw-ish but it is not and if you try to project a screen larger than 100” it’s downright unusable because you loose the little brightness you had at a 50" screen. The app support is horrible you will need a firestick or other hdmi source which really negates the entire idea of it being a portable! I had hoped for so much more as this was meant to compliment my other 2 projectors dangbei dbox02 and Bladecine Cube 600 both far superior. This was meant to be more portable unit was going to get a 65w PD charger for it but didn’t even get that far as very disappointed and it fell way way short! I ended up getting a MagCubic HY450c for half the price and wow was a great true short throw projector not portable but ended up getting a power station for $100 and still came out ahead! Maybe the Mogo 4 laswer would be the portable option but I can’t justify the price of more over priced at $700 but if XGIMI wants me to test that or another portable option like the VIBE ONE it I would be happy to do so!

The XGIMI Elfin Flip 4K portable projector has become the preferred way to watch sport and movies in my home. With a screen size larger than any TV in the house it turns movie night into a night at the movies. First of all let’s talk about setup. As it runs Google TV, setup is as simple as logging into (or creating) your Google account, then all you need to do is point it at a screen or light-coloured wall and the projector will do the rest. Yes, it will automatically adjust itself to the surface, completing keystone and size adjustments automatically. There are manual adjustments you can do, but throughout my testing I haven’t had any need to use them. In just a few minutes I was up and running. The Google TV interface has been quite responsive and easy to navigate with the included remote control. Adding and removing apps has been a painless experience and so far all of the apps work really well. I don’t own a screen (yet) and my walls are various shades of beige (exciting I know!), yet it didn’t matter. The projector can compensate for off-white surfaces and the whites in the images come out looking white. Even projecting onto a very cream coloured window blind the image looked really impressive. Yes, you do need to dim the lighting in the room, but that’s pretty standard for most projectors in this space, having said that though I was getting pretty good images even with daylight leaking through. The image quality is excellent. Even as the screen size is pushed towards its upper limits the image quality remains good, with images remaining sharp and clean. Of course the larger you go the dimmer the overall image becomes, but that’s to be expected when you have the same light source being projected over a larger area. For reference the largest projection I have done to date with this device measured in at around 170 inches and it looked great. The addition of built-in Harman Kardon audio is also impressive. Most projectors are let down by their rubbish built-in speakers, but not this one. The sound quality from this projector is so good that in some applications you won’t need to worry about additional speakers. So far I have watched a lot of sport and movies and haven’t had any need to connect speakers. If you did want to connect speakers, the projector has a 3.5mm audio port as well as a HDMI ARC port. This is in addition to another HDMI port and 2 x USB-A ports, allowing you to hook up an external hard drive, a set-top box or even a game console or PC. For those wondering the built-in fans are practically silent and keep the projector pretty cool, even after many hours of operation. The unit weighs in at around 1.5kg making it very portable. I love how the frame doubles as a handy carry handle, and thanks to its automatic keystone adjustment it’s so easy to take almost anywhere, as long as you have access to mains power and somewhere to project the image. I have been testing it in different parts of the house and each time I moved it to a new spot it adjusted itself to suit the new location without me doing anything. Overall this projector punches well above its weight, images are clear and motion is smooth. Movie nights will never be the same in our home again.

I decided to try this XGIMI Elfin Flip as a portable projector option, and overall it's pretty impressive for its size. It's actually slightly larger than I expected based on the pictures, and it's also lighter and less dense than I thought it would be. It's almost entirely plastic, and while it looks metallic in photos, there's no metal involved, so it does feel a bit less solid and a touch more delicate than the marketing suggests. Setup was fast and mostly automated. I simply logged into Google via my phone and followed the on screen wizard, which had me up and running within 5 to 10 minutes on the initial boot. The auto focus and auto alignment features are genuinely quick and require zero effort on your part. I tested it projecting onto the ceiling and from some odd angles, and it handled all of that well without any fuss. I do personally suffer from Rainbow Effect, and unfortunately this projector was no exception. I could clearly notice it when glancing across the image. This may have been partly due to the angles I was projecting from, but it was definitely visible enough that I'd expect others who are sensitive to it will notice it too. For such a small device, the built in sound is actually decently loud, and it's fine for casual viewing like YouTube. That said, if you're planning on watching movies or gaming, I'd recommend pairing it with a proper external speaker setup for a more substantial audio experience. Overall, it's a capable little portable projector with genuinely easy setup and a surprisingly loud speaker for its size, just be mindful of the Rainbow Effect if that's something that's bothered you with DLP or laser projectors in the past.

The sound is quiet, making it perfect for a small room without being disruptive. Setup was incredibly easy, and the smart features are impressive. I just got it last night, and within minutes, I was already watching a movie—absolutely love it! The design looks great, and the height adjustment is super convenient. Don’t hesitate—just get it!

My pre sales experience was amazing , I called there cutsiner care and fixed a live demo on video call which led me to buy elfin amd saved a lot of money. I was wanted to by mogo 4 but clearly fir my use case elfin flip was good enough. They create a home type environment for you and this helps you choose the best product. There sales and technical team well equipped to answer all your questjoms and gives you enough timeb. Anyone buyi xgimi this is must do. 3. No latency while watching cricket matches. 4. Unlike local projectors like wzatco auto key stone and auto actually works. I kept the elfin on left side of the room at an angle at 2.5 fr height to projector at centre. First it gives you the optimised corrected size. One can correct this using the manual keystone and oictire qualty is still good. 5. Blutooth works perfect with my bose speakers. Elfin speakers aren't that great for my use case. 6. Easy set up , just a plug and play. Super happy. At this price you won't get such qualty product with great built and after and pre sales experience.
