NOT Long Range. You will not receive a ZEN17LR like the images show. You will receive a ZEN17EU box and unit, with firmware sdk under v7.23, which means not certified for, and will not allow LR inclusion. I contacted Zooz regarding this, and they confirm that the ZEN17EU does not yet support, nor do they have updated firmware for ZWave LR on the EU models.

Have used this in two different applications, (1) to open garage door and (2) to open a front gate lock, and I just ordered for a third, (3) to set status of washer and dryer indicators lights, see https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F1MYRF9C). I use Hubitat to interface with the relay via the Z-wave protocol. I have had no problems connecting, and I have never had a single disconnect or had the devices fail to respond to a command. I have also been able to set all the ZooZ options via the Hubitat UI interface. How you get your hub to send a command is up to you, and can really be like magic. I can ask my smart speaker to open the front gate or garage and then it flips a virtual switch that sends a ZooZ command. I also have NFC tags that I can scan with my phone which then—with the Tasker app—send an HTTP request that again opens the right door for the particular tab. My new washer and drier indicator light project, I will use power readings (from https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07578W7KY and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YTCZZF0) to learn if the cycle has started and done and set the light color appropriately. I've used the USB and the 12-24V power and both worked just fine. Pro-Tip: the 18 awg solid core wire works well in the clamp down connections (e.g., https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085QD9DWP). Really, these are just so cool.

Habe den ZEN17 für die Statusabfrage von Haustür und Garagentor integriert (Magnetkontakt). Auch öffnen von Tür und Tor konnte realisiert werden. Somit konnte ich mit einem Gerät zwei Entitäten abfragen und zwei Entitäten steuern. Klare Kaufempfehlung. Keine Verbindungsabbrüche. Stromversorgung entweder über USB-C oder an 12-24V Klemmleiste.

Most impressive: - When I had trouble, the tech support over email was excellent. Very responsive, and I got an intelligent person who helped address my issue specifically rather than doing a generic script. They quickly offered warranty service (though lightning was the problem cause, so they didn't need to). - Sturdy device, much more stable than others I have in terms of resistance to lightning surges and z-wave network reliability I'm comparing this to my years of experience with: - GoControl FS20Z-1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ER6MH22 - GE Z-Wave plus 40A https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YTCZZF0 - A small smart light switch device from Aeotec(?) that I repurposed for my garage door The GE switch is even sturdier and better, but it's also quite expensive and big. I use it for my hot water heater, because I need its amperage. Of all the other options, this Zooz has been much better overall and in value for money. The GoControls and Aeotec would burn out with lightning surges, and this Zooz held out much longer than them. They would also lose the z-wave network or have other issues requiring a reboot, whereas the Zooz just kept chugging steadily along. It also has much more optionality to work on multiple devices, and its screw ports for wires made setup easier. My use case: I have a garage door about 200 meters from my house. There's a long wire from its motor to a button in my garage so I can open and close it. I wired the Zooz switch in parallel to that button so I could open/close from my phone. In theory it's a dry contact, but it actually gets a bit of voltage, which is hard on the smart switch. And when lightning storms hit (as often happens here), voltage surges along that 200m wire and puts pressure on it. Tough conditions.

I picked up two of these for operating 3 garage doors (each will handle up to 2) and also to extend my Z-Wave network range. Out of the box this was very easy to set up in Home Assistant. I did have to check the included documentation to get it into Z-Wave pairing mode, but after that it paired right away with Home Assistant through the closest Z-Wave Repeater and populated device information and configuration. The configuration has a lot of options but it's pretty clear and simple if you are familiar with switching and basic residential and low voltage electric. If you are not, get some help before you mess with anything like this and of course unplug/de-energize electric things before you mess with them. I have S1 set up as momentary, meaning it looks for a single button press or switch closure, which is what you get when you click the button on the garage wall. The R1 NO Output was linked to S1 by default, meaning when you click the garage button, it closes S1 momentarily, telling the relay to close R1 momentarily, actuating the garage door. This meets my "keep wife happy" standard where things need to work when you push the button even if something quit working with the automation. I could completely shut down all other devices and home assistant and this would still let the garage door work like normal. Parameter 10 lets you decouple this. Say, for example, if you wanted to set up security conditions, like keep the door from opening unless certain people are home, or time of day or something. There are a lot of other options as well, I added snips in the photos. With HA and Ecolink Tilt Sensors (B00HGVJRX2) on the garage doors it was very easy to set up door status monitoring, notification, and buttons in the HA front end. I was able to set up notifications based on people presence, duration left open, and time of day that prompt a button press to close the door. For example, the last person to leave a home zone with a garage door left open gets notified. If the door is not closed within x time, everyone gets notified.
