Best fan I've owned
As someone that uses a fan every night to sleep, even in the winter, I can easily say that this fan is the best I've owned. It's now over 2 years since I purchased it, and it runs no different to the day I first switched it on, even after being used for 8+ hours a night, every night. It is very quiet when used on it's lowest setting (sleep mode) and it has never disturbed me in the night with annoying creaks or whirring noises - something which a lot of cheap fans often do. The fan can be set on a timer and it seems to do a good job of switching itself off at the right moment, again without making any noise that would disturb my sleep. As far as power goes, it provides a really strong gust of air on the highest setting (power cool mode). Being a rather tall tower fan, it is capable of creating a much larger stream than smaller circular fans, and has done a great job of providing comfort to my partner and I during the recent heatwave. The design is very modern, using nice materials that feel of good quality. General construction is also good - it feels sturdy when given a light push, with a large base helping to keep it stable.I can't comment on the remote functionality as I do not use it, but it looks simple to use and fits in with the design of the fan.Overall fantastic product, brilliant value for money.

A really good tower fan.
So, with the summer heat I had to pick up a fan. I checked various price points, and so many products. In the end I settled on this. My first reason was because it's a tower fan, and I wanted something that could cool more than one single concentrated location on my body while working at a desk. My second reason was because of how it looked, it's black, with a somewhat glossy silver top. In the pictures, it didn't look like some cheap plastic, either. So I had decent hopes for build quality. My last reason was the brand, Honeywell. A brand I'd heard some positive things about from friends, so I thought I'd give them a go myself. Suffice to say, I kind of liked this purchase. The fan itself does a good job. It moves a lot of air, and pushes it at a decent force, to where it's aimed. On it's lowest setting, it's easily hitting me at a distance of 8ft (243.84 cm), which is the furthest I can be in this room, which is lovely. As you can imagine, it only gets better the further you go up the fan speed. It was honestly a HUGE help during this recent heatwave. As for its height, it does a good job cooling my entire body sitting down, exactly the reason I got this thing. The only way it could be better is if it had an even lower mode, that was near silent, even if it pushed little air. There are both cheaper, and more expensive fans that can do this, I don't see why this is not true for this too.As for the noise level, it's not so bad. Along with this purchase I also picked up a rather bad air purifier, which also had a sleep mode. That purifier had a small fan, was rather loud, and was quite honestly a crap product. This tower fan in contrast is so much better. It's sleep mode, although being at a volume, is still perfectly reasonable to fall asleep too (unlike the purifier). It's volume, and tone, on the lowest setting presents itself as mere white noise, which is nice (unlike the purifier). Of course, once you turn the fan up, that statement is no longer true, but given the upside of how much air its sending, that's reasonable. One thing that could hinder your sleep though is not the fan volume, but the blue light on top. It's not that bright, and in a shade where it's not that noticeable, but some might find it distracting. The rotational capability is nice, going left to right, which is been nice while in bed. Cooling my head, right to my toes. Though there is some small creaking noise when turning. I'm not quite sure why this is, it's fine when it's not moving, but it could be distracting. One feature I think would also be interesting is the ability to alter the turning radius and speed of the turn. Personally, I find how it turns to be rather quick, and the overall turning radius rather large. So being able to tweak this would be nice.Another feature this fan has, is the sleep timers. You have 4 options to choose from, 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours. I've personally used, and timed the 1 and 2 hours, and found them to be accurate to their claim. I would like some kind of memory for the system, using the timer automatically, but as it stands, this is more than sufficient. The last feature this device supports, is the remote. It's small, and supports the same colour scheme. It does require some batteries, but 2 are provided with the fan. There are three buttons in total, power, fan speed, and turn. This is sufficient for most uses, but more options would also have been welcome, such as a timer, or suggested features I mentioned above. The buttons aren't nice to press, either. They're rather squidgy, making you press rather hard to activate them, often feeling like they should've been pressed, when they have not. Once you get past the squidge, the buttons do offer a somewhat satisfying click, which is the only nice thing about them. What kind of urks me, is that Honeywell know how to implement good buttons, as the ones on the actual fan are nice, it's just the ones on the remote aren't that good. As for remote storage, you'll find that at the back of the fan, on top, just below the handle. It's a nice position, and clips on easily, with it also being easy to remove. As for set-up, this is a fan that's delivered in parts, meaning you, the user will need to set it up. They do offer instructions, but I didn't find that them great. They focus on picture instructions, that can seem kind of misleading, if you don't quite understand what they're going for. I would've preferred step-by-step text instructions, as I found it rather confusing it times. After I made one or two small mistakes, and actually stopped and thought about what needed to happen, I didn't have much trouble. Everything fits rather nicely, with everything I needed in the box.Lastly for build quality. The fan itself seems to be of good quality. I feel like I'd need to put in some effort into breaking this. When not turning, there are no creaks, and only wobbles a little if touched by the user. If I lift it by the handle, I feel confidant, when moving it about, one handed, which is nice. When turning, as mentioned above, there is occasionally an audible creak, but it's nothing major, and there is a small bit of wobble (again, barely worth mentioning). The glossy styling on top is a fingerprint magnet, but as the glossy aspect is so small, it's barely noticeable. Lastly the stand does feel kind of... cheap, it feels like most of the money spent is on the fan, which is good, and thankfully it appears good enough to support the tower fan. Still, I would've liked better.

2nd one so would recommend
This is the second one I've bought of these. The first is still going strong but my son wanted a replacement to his old blades fan and this is so much better. On its lowest setting it is very quiet, maybe described as white noise, not too noticeable. The rotating fan covers a good area, doesn't take up much room due to its tall and thin design, and can be felt from a bed due to its height. The remote is a great addition and is easy to use.Very happy with this fan and a reasonable price.

Good, sturdy tower fan
Bought a couple of these for the bedrooms in the house and they're very cool and relatively quiet. I found that there was a bit of a rattling noise when oscillating, but soon found out that it was coming from the remote control that you can place in the back of the unit. I didn't think I'd need to use the RC, so left it in there, but if your fan rattles a bit, then that might be the cause.Setting it up was easy too. There are some bits that you have to screw together, but they were designed with a plastic end which you can just screw into place using your fingers - I didn't need extra tools like a screwdriver, for example. Takes only a couple of minutes to set up.

Unstable but powerful
If you have dogs or children this isn't for you. It's quite unstable, but we don't have children or pets anymore so it's perfectly fine for us. Quiet, it is not. On the sleep setting it would in my opinion be far too noisy. However it does throw out a very good breeze. If it's on , in a lounge with the t.v on the noise would be OK. It will be OK to dismantle to put back in the box for winter storage.

Very Dissapointed
I own 3 Honeywell fans already, This one really appealed due to the 8 speed settings, enabling you to have it very low at night and just a gentle breeze and most importantly quiet for sleep. The fan is very poorly built. Cheap plastic and silver trim. For £100 for a blooming fan Id expect just a little bit more from Honeywell.. It looks awkward the way the lower plastic shaft supports the fan, it feels unsteady too... and the remote control DOES NOT have the sleep timer button it.. It has all the thermostat controls for fiddling about setting temperature (which nobody would ever use!!) But not a simple sleep timer button (and for a fan that sells itself on SLEEP function you have to get out of bed and manually press the button on machine) - LAUGHABLE and RIDICULOUS Honeywell...Due to the cheap build and cheap materials it also creaks and groans and vibrates. This is especially bad when using oscillation. Who wants to hear clunk clunk crick crack clonk as it rotates??! Its not so bad when not rotating but the vibration noises remain which is annoying, usually a good slap or reposition can reduce the rattle...Ive had 3 of these now, first 2 were just too rattely to put up with so returned and refunded.. Im currently reviewing my third and final attempt to see if i can live with it or send it back for refund again...Very very dissapointed, a quality fan company like Honeywell can make something so good (in theory) but CRAP in reality... and £100 for the pleasure... Hope this review helps and would like to think somebody from Honeywell would read it aas they have no Customer Support to contact directly.5 Stars to Amazon though for awesome service and easy returns policy.Buy one at your own risk, you have been warned!

Fantastic, with a few small criticisms
This is a brilliant fan. I had a cheap one previously that had started to break, so I wanted a new one and chose this.It was easy to build, fairly self explanatory and I really like anything you don’t need a screwdriver for. It’s very powerful, I can feel it across the room (very much couldn’t with my old one). Remote and buttons on top are very easy to use. However I find the bass and stand a little bit flimsy so you could knock it over if not careful. It’s not heavy but my concern would be breaking the stand.I’ve been using it for a couple of days and I was wondering why it was making a very loud buzzing noise. It took me a couple of days to realise that it was caused by the remote being in the holder on the back of the fan, it’s almost as if the fan vibrates against the remote and creates the really loud buzz (I wouldn’t mind this during the day but I primarily use fans at night and it was extremely annoying before I found this). The solution, unfortunately, is removing the remote from the holder - now to try not to lose it.Overall an excellent product, it’s only lost a star for the flimsy stand and buzzing remote. If I could give it 4.5 I would. Very minor issues.

This Is A UK Product, And NOT compatible With US
This listing has no mention or warning this was coming from the UK, their plugs are different from ours in the US.I bought this fan cause i needed a new fan and I like the Honeywell fan, we only realized something wasn't right when we tried to plug it

Read the Small Print
The fan showed up on time and was reasonably easy to assemble. The problem occurred when I tried to plug it in. This unit was shipped from the UK (Europe) and therefore would only run on 220 volt compared to ALL AMERICAN HOMES that run on 110 volts. I returned the fan the next day and now waiting for refunds for both the fan and the return shipping charges. Shipping charges were almost the same cost as the fan.
