We just had to replace our washer & dryer, and I was slightly annoyed at how many things had fallen behind the units. (so that's where my garden gloves went!) It occurred to me that I could build a countertop, maybe with a lip around the edges so stuff wouldn't fall off. And then it occurred to me that I'm not that handy, so I looked for a pre-made solution. This looked pretty good and SpaceAid is an actual company rather than a random drop shipper, so I ordered it the oak version. It's solid - I mean, it's really solid. Heavy, even. I managed to assemble it myself and barely managed to lift it onto the washer & dryer, but recommend that you consider getting someone to help you. It was actually quite easy to put together using the included allen wrench. Just pay attention and don't screw one of the sides on in the wrong direction (curved sides go in the front). It took me less than 10 minutes to assemble and that includes having to re-install the side I put in wrong. There are stick-on pads to put on the underside which serve the dual purpose of stabilizing the countertop and protecting the washer & dryer finish from scratches. The oak color is a light oak, similar to white oak, although I should have gone with something darker to pair with my gray appliances. Oh well. The countertop fits perfectly across our LG 5500-series pair.

I wanted to do a mini makeover in my laundry room. I absolutely love how it turned out. The box was very well padded with styrofoam & the countertop was laid inside it with the hardware taped to the lid of the box. Very sturdy cardboard & styrofoam corners meant nothing was moving around. The instructions were easy to follow & everything was drilled perfectly & lined up correctly. I love the pads they included as they are extremely well made with a great adhesive and once I got them placed onto the bottom, nothing was moving! This is a very solid countertop for your washer/dryer. It isn’t a custom piece so I wasn’t expecting it to curve out like my washer dryer set does. However, I was very impressed with how well it fit into my space. I like the update and extra folding space I now have for a very reasonable price.

I am very pleased with both the look and function of this countertop. It was easy to put together and I assembled it in under 15 minutes. It appears to be sturdy and well-made. The faux marble is surprisingly realistic and looks good in my gray laundry room. This countertop fits perfectly on top of my new Maytag washer and dryer and functions well for folding laundry. Over-all I am very pleased with the purchase.

Exactly as described. The shelf fits our needs perfectly for the washer and dryer top. Very well made, easy to assemble, and looks very nice.

I got the white marble top and it looks great. It’s heavy for sure. Easy to assemble. I’ve seen the comments about the screws not being recessed. Mine did have recessed holes, which are bigger than the holes on the other side so be sure to put the screws into the larger holes. I would also probably not over tighten. I also got better rubber pads on Amazon. My washer is in a pan so it’s slightly higher than the dryer and I had to adjust spacing to make it level. I put the pads on it once I had it on the machines so I could see where to line them up. It is heavy though so you might need help. Lastly, one review says there was fiberglass all over it when they took it out. This was true with mine as well. Hoping it’s just glue or melamine resin but either way you will want to put this together outside or at least in the garage. You might want to wear a mask when breaking down the box. Wipe the shelve down 3-4 times before using it. And then take a shower LOL. The surface is shiny maybe melamine so it should hold up when wet. Water resistant for sure, maybe waterproof.

I bought one of these for my daughter. I loved the quality, look and functionality. I finally bought one for myself. Here is the before and after. Previously I used an exercise equipment mat. It served me well for three years, creating a useful surface for folding clothes just out of the dryer. Even though I was careful, items still fell off the back and it is next to impossible to retrieve them. The SpaceAid does not eliminate this problem but it is greatly reduced. The folding space also increased slightly but noticeably with the new topper. I love it! It is made well and I think it elevates the look dramatically.

I needed help lifting this up on top of my machines. After attaching the sides and back with the screws and tool provided, I was ready to go. This is HEAVY and of HIGH quality. I was NOT expecting that at all. I am very pleased with how clean and organized it makes my laundry room. Before things were falling in between my washer and dryer - that's a thing of the past. I love the sides and backing that keeps it all in place!! Super super happy with my new laundry countertop!!
