I have a spear&jackson 5l paps. this doesn't appear to fit directly - what's the easiest modification or what's the best low cost compatible sprayer ?

We bought a couple of Brass Gas Pipe Quick Fit connectors for a 6mm bore hose, fitted on end on the sprayer and the other end on the pipe going to the sprayer. Have a double set up where it {the Sprayer} can be coupled to the longer lance and a short one - let the air pressure off the sprayer, uncouple then couple up to which ever one you want. Hope this is of some help.

would this lance connect to a normal hose connector?

To answer your question No. - First of all this is an excellent piece of kit - The input end has a F/M Nut and male connector for a 8mm I.D. - 10mmO.D. pipe. We have this hooked up via a 8mm bore pipe to a Garden Sprayer with a pump - We spray the gable end of our building with Anti Moss {Rough Cast Surface} the peak is 36 feet around {11 Mts} - good pump and it will get the liquid that height without a problem.
