Love this door!
This chicken coop automatic door works great! It opens and shuts when it is supposed to. I love the light sensor so we don’t have to keep changing the times for the door to close. It was easy to install. I was a little worried about it being solar because our coop is surrounded by trees but we have had no issues and it keeps charged up. I love that we won’t have to replace batteries. Once it was installed and the times/light were set up it’s we really haven’t had to worry about it. The system is easy to figure out and use. The size of the hole is great, it looked a little small but the chickens get in and out without any issues. We love it!

Good chicken door
This works quite well, not cheaply made, good price. That said there are some issues. 1) The charger cord plug sticks down where the chickens walk through. This means that they hit the plug as they leave. When chickens head out in the morning its a mad rush and the plug gets broken. Move the plug 2) The door is a little small. It works for our chickens - RR reds, Buff orps, Black sexlinks, but it should be alittle bigger 3) Solar charger - Also a little small, despite good light on it, the battery never seems to get a good charge Its a good door and works well

Screen stopped working
I really liked it at first it made things so simple for us but not even 4 months of having it the screen stopped working and now I can’t set the time to open and close and have been finding it open in the middle of the night which is super scary because we have so many predators in our area. The picture I took of the screen was after finding it open at night Update not too long after my review the door stopped working completely I can’t open/close it with the remote or the button on the door complete waste of money

Great coop door
I’ve been hesitant to pull the trigger on an automatic door because every time it’s either not worked or difficult to program. This one is not that at all. Straight from the box it worked, easy set up, and easy install. We set this up 2 weeks before the polar vortex hit. We live in Ohio, currently with a few inches of snow, and temp was 6° when the door opened this morning. Nothing has stopped it from opening or closing yet, and I’ve been very grateful with the quality of it. I do think it’s noisy, maybe a little slow, but I’m also impatient with a lot. You can also see that my Brahma chicken fits easily through the opening. I highly recommend this door as of right now.

Great automatic door!
I highly recommend these to anyone who owns chickens. You can set it multiple ways. You can have it open when the sun comes up and close when the sun goes down or you can set it on a specific timer to open and close. I chose to use the timer because the door gets a little confused when it is very overcast or rainy. I have 2 coops so I bought one for each and both have been working well for several months. I installed them myself. I had to add some wood to both the coop door openings for it to fit properly. It was pretty easy. Having these doors for security along with cameras, large waters, and feeders in a safely, enclosed area has allowed me to go on vacation and feel confident leaving my girls. (Yes, I had someone i could get over there if there was a problem but there were none!) I highly recommend this door! One thing to consider: be sure that your coop has enough room for it to open upward on the outside of your coop as it fits pretty snug to the exterior wall.

Remote stopped working fairly quickly.
This item wasn’t hard to put together, but it does have some issues. I have had it close to a year now and it doesn’t work as well as it did in the beginning. No matter the setting, I have noticed that it is starting to fail it objective. The door will beep and open and close whenever it wants.

Works great
As anyone who has chickens, an auto door is about as important as the coop itself. I love this door & the chickens took right to it. A few things to consider…. (Sorry it’s a bit long) 1. The door itself is powered “up” behind the mounted power mechanism so there needs to be clearance from trim or ridges in the siding so it can freely move (for me I needed to add some trim around the door for it to do so. Not the fault of the door but rather from the style of the coop) 2. It appeared “small” to me & I wondered if my birds would fit -they do😂one at a time with zero squabbling. (I have barred Plymouth rocks, Americaunas, black marans, isa browns & sapphire gems) 3. It has 4 different program capabilities auto open/close at dawn/dusk , auto open at dawn, program dusk close, program dawn open, auto dusk close & program timed open/close. Since it’s winter i use these programming time feature & my chickens have amazed me at their instinct to be in the coop well before it closes (set for about 10 min past sunset) 4. It has 9 feet of cord to the solar panel that recharges the battery to allow for southern exposure charging. I did what others suggested & charged the door with the USB cord before installing (it didn’t take long maybe a few hours, sorry I didn’t pay attention to time) the door was placed on the coop & the connected to the solar panel. Zero issues since. (Mid Michigan is notorious for gray skies during winter so I will see if that becomes an issue so far it has not) Side note-the power panel goes “dark” appearing to be inactive or dead. It’s just in a power save mode. If you touch the panel it activates. 5. You can at anytime manually open or close the door via a button on the control panel or by the remote if you need the chickens to be “out” of the coop or if there is a storm coming & you want them locked in for safety during a time when the door would normally be open. Not going to lie, I am new to chickens (12 chicks purchased Aug 2024 ) & I tend to research & plan things to the Nth degree before I make big purchases My door currently leads to a covered secure run with the capability to lead to a contained free range area (still under construction) I anticipate purchasing another door for that access once it is completed. For the price, I am extremely pleased with the purchase.
