It’s been working good and has already had to kick on. I’m happy.

I haven't given it a good test, but I can say that it is really a nice unit in that it is light and much more compact than older style lead acid units like Cyber Power and APC (both of which are excellent.) It claims ten year battery life and if so that will be an improvement as well. If size, weight, and convenience are of value to you, then this unit is worth the extra cost. If the battery life is as a good as spec, it is worth the cost. If you are just putting it in a server closet, then I don't know If I could justify the cost or not. Battery life would be the conditional there. Very nice unit with 1 extra receptacle over the other units mentioned. Cozmic Charly Told Ya So.

So far so good! Owned this unit for six months with several power outages. It has never failed to keep the A/V living room system powered. The load on this UPS is about 185w. So, with a 600w battery, should get about three hours of juice if needed. This is perfect for small appliances that don't "cycle" or surge. Pure sine wave -- for electronics. Very lightweight. Comes in white or gray. The NOT SO GOOD - No AVR or conditioning like on many other brands (10% rated before kicking on...okay, but not great) - No "surge" capability or rating (so, no fridges, air conditioners, some electric motors like garage door openers won't start) - 10-years and "done" batteries are non-replaceable is either good or bad -- depends on how you feel about recycling BOTTOM LINE - Solid buy for lower power (less than 500w or so) office duties. It has a long service life (don't have to replace batteries)

So I have been using UPS' for more than 25 years, and I have gotten to the point where I am tried of changing batteries in the old lead acid models every 1,5-2 years, and them randomly dying on me at times when I actually need power, so like many others I have been looking forward to the emergence of NiFePh UPS' for consumers. Enter the Goldenmate personal UPS series. I grabbed one of the 1000VA/600W models during the Christmas flash deal to try it out and this is an impressive piece of hardware with some flaws for the home lab'er like myself. So let me describe my experience during the first few days of use/testing: The Good: The unit is sturdy and build with quality components (on the outside), lightweight and stylish looking, one could have these in office spaces and they would fit in with the Mac's of the world and not be the eyesore classic UPS' are. As far as I can tell the battery is holding its own, currently running a depletion test with a Raspberry PI4 and a regular 1080 monitor attached to measure how long it can last and test the recharge afterwards, and for now it is doing dandy consuming 22W for some 40 min and the battery bars haven't moved which according to the manual indicates that the battery level is still above 90% remaining capacity, so far very impressive. The bad: There is a few bad things about this unit, all something I think can be fixed by the manufacturer in a v 2.0, so let me explain: 1: No data connection (USB or network) for managing shutdown of connected computers, in my case my ProxMox lab which this unit is intended to protect from power outages, this means I have to configure another classic CyberPower UPS to be the agent detecting the power outage and having the machines NUT agents begin the process of shutting things down in the proper fashion. This is a must for actual computer use cases with sensitive data and should be easy to fix as the cost of including a basic interface for this and ensuring that it follows the basic NUT api is marginal at best, you do not even have to develop your own software clients, just rely on the existing open source API's out there and done. 2: It smells. Yeah like other describe, this unit has a distinct "smell" to it which seems to be plasticky in nature, I would bet this is from the battery pack and it is being run in. This gives me some concerns and I will keep a pretty close eye on it, if it does not dissipate in a few weeks I will reach out to the manufacturer about it and request an explanation and/or replacement. 3: The power plugs are located too closely to each power. As you can tell from the pictures on the product description, the output power plugs are located in such a way that if you have to connect anything but regular AT cables, aka something with a AC/DC power converter (like a cell phone charger or in my case USB external HDD enclosures) you can end up losing one or even two outlets because the transformer might reach over the neighboring outlets. This is something other UPS' also struggle with on some models, however this should be easy to fix on this model as there is plenty of real estate on the back panel to spread out the 8 outlets a little more allowing for the potential to insert AC/DC transformers without overlapping other outlets. Overall: So far I am still happy with the buy, however I will hold off on buying more of them until I see a model upgrade with the data connection added, since I am trying to get out of the acid lead setup entirely and for now I still need at least one to be the monitoring agent. I would recommend these for non computer use, or at least for non-automated shutdown uses, home theater setups and similar. Final note: While I have not had the issue yet, key word YET, there are some reports that the 20ms switch over (which = 1 entire sine wave) can be problematic for some use cases, I will be testing the unit out with some older equipment before connecting it to the production environment, and if I see any troubles I will report back and likely have to take stars off. I would highly recommend the manufacturer to work on improving this as most regular UPS for data protection have a switchover between 5 and 10 ms.

Summary: Minus one star because it does not turn off the way the instructions say (more difficult/annoying). Minus one start because it often gets an error code and has to be unpluged/replugged at start-up. Minus one star because of the unresponsive / non-existent customer support. Otherwise it works fine when it's on and is quiet. Details: I had a Cyber Power from Costco that functioned perfectly well (that is it turned on and off as simply as you'd expect) but the battery had deteriorated rapidly and would only last a few seconds when the power went out. This was after just a few years. I bought this one out of the hope/promise that the battery would last longer. But this UPS isn't ready for prime-time. I turn my UPS off every night and on every morning, and so the problems with this product are very annoying. I don't know why there can't just be a simple button or switch for power? Instead, they have this janky loose button. The instructions say "Press and hold the switch button for 5 [seconds], and the LCD display will turn off. Then release the switch, and the shutdown process is complete." This is NOT TRUE. You have to first hit the button once to get the LCD display to turn on; sometimes this takes a couple times. THEN, you can hold for five seconds for the power down. Power on generally works as described (hold the switch for three seconds)--except you very often get a U55 error, which indicates "product overload protection" despite the fact that I have this thing way under-utilized. When this happens it will power everything on for a few seconds and then crash them. You have to unplug the UPS and replug and then it works fine. All of this is super annoying to have to deal with every night and morning. I unfortunately can't speak to the longevity of the power supply because I haven't had a substantial need yet. I really only needed this to function for 30 seconds inbetween power outage and backup generator kicking in, which it has worked for. Lastly I will note that I contacted their customer service before I figured out the trick to get the thing to power off (after struggling with it for many many nights). I got a response from someone that stated "my after-sales colleague will contact you"--but I never heard from anyone. I would go with a more established/reputable brand if you can find the features you want. Good luck APRIL 2025 UPDATE: Unfortunately, I have dropped this from two stars to one. Today, for the first time, I actually needed this thing to work and it failed. The power to our house went out for a second--AND SO DID ALL MY DEVICES HOOKED TO THIS UPS. The whole point of this thing is to keep your devices from crashing when the power goes out. Unfortunately, my computer and my monitors were affected the same as any other electronics in the house as if they weren't even on a UPS. I should remind folks that the U in UPS stands for "Uninterruptible", so... so much for that.

Had about 230w on it running the tv router security cameras and power reclining furniture and it did what it was suppose to with ease lasted about 3-4 hours during a storm on the gulf coast it exceeded my expectations and is a great value

Although I have not had a power outage I tested it, and it worked perfectly. Not even a delay in the continued power. I was impressed.

el diseño es bonito, gran potencia, salida sinusoide pura, display bonito, batería lifepo4. problema menor: el display no se mantiene encendido. problema mayor: falla de diseño en el botón de encendido / apagado - se queda atorado y es fácil presionarlo por error si lo tienes en el suelo y se apaga todo. en los ups de marcas reconocidas como tripplite, apc, cyberpower, eaton etc... por presionar el botón NO se apaga el UPS, tienes que dejarlo presionado. es horrible, una falla tremenda. le tuve que poner una tapa con cinta mágica para proteger este enorme problema.
