D'Addario Rico Graftonite Alto Sax Mouthpiece, C5

I was pleased with the sound for the money. I got the c5 for alto. Sometimes when you need a brighter sound the c5 does the job. I recorded it as well and I like it. It's good to have as a sound that you can use in addition to the traditional sound.

Keep in mind, I've only been playing for 8 months. Bought this to get a "buzzier" brighter, sound. It does just that, but as a beginner, I think I'm just not ready for it yet. The higher notes are easier, but lower notes were harder and will squeak about half the time. Went back to my trusty ol' HITE Premier for now, but I may try this 'piece again at a later date. Definitely worth the money if you're ready for it.

Good and quickly

My son has a Selmer Prelude and I bought this mouth piece for him as a birthday present. The mouth piece fits too tight on the goosneck and damaged the cork. Other than that it is a good sounding mouth piece.

Like the idea that it's constructed to have the reed aligned. But the bore diameter could not fit my sax neck. Even when I put cork grease it still wouldn't fit.

This mouthpiece works very well. It is not the easiest thing to keep straight tones on but it also allows considerable tonal flexibility. It also seems to play well at higher volumes without cracking off as soon as my other pieces. I'm very pleased with it. It also came packaged in a box with a basic mouthpiece selection guide which is helpful and would have been very helpful if it had been on the amazon site as although I'm not unhappy with the C5 I selected in terms of performance and I'm happy to have it, it was a bit of a guess and the tone is a little brighter than I wanted. Now that I have that little guide I know what I want in my next Rico mouthpiece.

Bisher habe ich auf einem 4C Mundstück von Jupiter gepielt. Seitdem ich das RICO C5 ausprobiert habe, werde ich das 4C wohl nicht mehr benutzen. Mit dem 4C hat mir der Klang meines Alt- Saxophons gefallen. Mit dem 5C ist er Klasse! Es bringt einen um Längen präziseren und angenehmeren Klang hervor, ist aber leider schwerer anzuspielen. Deshalb bin ich hierfür um eine halbe Blättchenstärke zurückgegangen.

I am learning to play and this mouthpiece combined with a 2.0 strength reed is the perfect combination for beginners. Recommend!

Mi sono nuovamente affidato a Rico con questo bocchino (ho precedentemente preso il metalite per tenore) anche in questo caso è il primo cambio che faccio da quello in dotazione ed il risultato è stato un netto miglioramento. Ancora una volta solo quattro stelle poiché il mio parere non è certo professionale ma esperienza personale da 5 stelle
