Replacement units work as they should. Buyer beware that some units run the risk of being DOA
Check the units immediately upon arrival! Quality control is not a Baofeng strongpoint. These units are replacements for another set of six units with charger, from the same seller. The previous units all powered on, but did not receive, and had major carrier spurs upon transmission. The carrier did not modulate. Essentially, these bricks were useless as emergency communications. Fortunately, our friends at Amazon promptly sent another set, which arrived literally the day after I visited UPS to drop off the bricks, and these are a different story. Using the same programs I have used for 888S in the past, the units programmed up and worked as they are supposed to. My advice to a new purchaser: check them out in detail the day you get them. Have a friend check transmit and receive, and do not hesitate to return ones that don't meet your expectations.

Requires a ham radio license for every user. If you're not aware of that, you could face a $10,000 fine for every use. Reprehensible that neither Baofeng nor Amazon mentions this in their description. Just google it and you'll see.
