Two thumbs up, way up for this one. Just one super read.
Absolutely loved this book. Its full of great dialogue, super characters both good and evil, two hero's to die for and one hell of a story. Spoiler alert. This one starts with Miroslav Jones called Miro by everyone and his partner Ian Doyle chasing down an escaped convict. They are Deputy US Marshals and this guy isn't the first, nor will he be the last person they have to chase down. Its a successful chase but Jones wrist is broken when he hits the ground hard after being run over by the 250 pound man as he's running from Ian. Mori cut him off and was flattened by him.Ian Doyle is ex military Spec Ops, a Green Beret. A man with multiple tours of duty in the sandbox.Jones is a former Chicago PD detective. They were a very unlikely pairing. A pairing that has worked oh so well. When Miro was first paired with Doyle he considered the man a nightmare. At First the rest of the team wondered why Mori, the new guy, was paired with Ian. To Mori it was quite simple. Mori is the new guy and as such he's familiar with all the procedures and protocols for the job.Doyle is ex military with no LEO background. Mori is the team member who will make sure the procedures and protocols are followed. No one wanted Ian Doyle, the man they call Captain America, as a partner because he's hell on wheels and Mori as his partner has been hurt on more than one occasion following Captain America. Now the team makes sure Mori has ice and any drugs they happen to have in their desks. Mori almost always needs one or the other after following Ian DoyleMiro Jones is thirty one years old, 5'11". Miro is very muscular and strong as hell. Miro is one great guy who everyone likes.Ian Doyle is thirty six years old, 6'2" and 185 pounds he's lean and has a sleek fluid graceful way about him. Doyle has never been considered a great guy and he could care less if anyone outside his team or his partner like him.Jones is gay and battling his attraction to his partner. His very straight partner Doyle. A Doyle who is gorgeous. A guy woman always follow with their eyes.Doyle is on the ready reserve list with the US Army. He's a Captain in the reserves and can be and has been deployed overseas. When that happens Miro takes care of Doyle's dog Chickie Baby and just has to hope and pray that Ian makes it back in one piece.Miro is also having to always remind himself no touching and no getting into Doyle's personal space. Do nothing that may tip Ian off to Miro's true feelings for him. Doyle is straight and Miro has no idea how he would react if he ever found out the gay Miro has more than friendship on his mind. So far his strategy has worked and he and Ian get along more than fine and work together well. Its a tough row for Miro to hoe though.Ian is very protective of Miro a fact Miro doesn't seem to realize. He also doesn't seem to notice Ian is always in his personal space. Miro won't realize any of this till a trip to pick up a witness takes place.Miro is always counciling Ian about correct protocol for any and all situations and Ian about what Miro wears and his boots and shoes.Miro is a real clothes horse. He buys expensive clothes, boots and shoes. Ian?? Well Ian has two designations for his clothes. Clean and dirty. Ian is always ragging on Miro when he wears his good clothes, boots and shoes to work. Ian is always telling Miro his good stuff will get ruined and how Miro should wear his old clothes and boots.Ian is always after Miro to stay behind him and Ian is always leading and Miro following. Miro always has his partners back. A fact Ian knows he can depend on. Oh and Ian always drives and Miro rides the passenger seat. Miro is completely oblivious to the way Ian is always making sure he's okay. Ian is always in his personal space and Miro just hasn't realized it.Ian does have a girlfriend. Emma is her name and she always tries to include Miro when Ian comes over because Ian acts somewhat civilized when Miro is around.Hell. Ian would rather be with Miro than with Emma and her friends anyway.. Miro knows this relationship is headed for the dumpster. Emma is someone Miro thinks is just about perfect. Just not perfect for Ian.Emma has also told him Ian is lousy in bed. A something Miro just won't believe as he see's Ian as damned near perfect. Emma talks to Miro all the time about Ian and his lack of any social grace whatsoever.Ian spends a lot of time at Miro's townhouse. He and his dog Chickie Baby.Chickie Baby a huge Husky, Ovcharcka mix. Miro call's Chickie Ian's werewolf. Ian loves to stay at Miro's house and treats it just like he owns it. Miro doesn't mind at all since he loves it when Ian spends the night at his place and Miro takes care of Chickie when Ian is deployed.Their tough as nails boss Kage sends Miro to Washington Park to take custody of Kemen Bentley a missing witness who's supposed to testify against Taylor Ledesma, a man who rescued him from a life of abuse. Seems he got picked up on a raid after he escaped protective police custody. Doyle is already on site.So begins one damned fine read. This one has Miro, Ian, Chickie, their boss Kage, Kowalski, Becker, Sharpe, Ching, Kohn, White, Dorsey and Ryan the team Miro and Ian work with, a Miro who takes care of himself, an Ian who could care less about taking care of himself, a Miro who does his best to guard his feelings for Ian, a shootout at Washington Park, a Bentley who finally figures out his former lover will kill him, a leap off a balcony to save Bentley, Lucy Kensington, her boyfriend Javiar, Homeland Security, the FBI, State troopers, SWAT, a Miro leaping off another balcony chasing a drug dealer at Emma's place during a party, a furious Ian, an Emma who calls it quits with Ian, a serial killer named Hartley who's behind bars but has an interest in Miro, a Miro who visits him at the request of the FBI to get info, a Hartley who will only speak with Miro, a Hartley who tells Miro he'll be seeing him on the outside, a former lover named Brent, Ian's father Colin, an Ian who has no love for that father, an Ian who is deployed overseas one more time, a witness Nina Tolliver who Miro and Kohn are tasked with escorting so she can write her deposition, a Kohn distracting four crooked Chicago PD detectives who are supposed to be protecting Nina, a Miro who gets Nina out the back, a Miro who is shot twice getting Nina to safety, the four woman who love Miro, the four women who he went to college with and calls his coven, the four smart, gorgeous talented women who will always be there for Miro, an Ian who is finally back in the states, an Ian and Miro on a trip to Tennessee that turns out to be anything but a milk run, an Ian who turns out to be bi sexual, and Miro Jones and Ian Doyle finding love, besting the bad guys and making it out alive.Five Stars just ain't enough.

fast action, good interpersonal story pacing
I liked this story. There are only two reason why this didn’t get 5 stars for me. One—there were SO many names that it got really hard to keep the people straight. It was almost like the writer wanted to do too much in too few pages and it was hard to get a handle on all the people and backstories. I feel like you could have cut out a handful of characters with no effect on the overarching storyline. Two—the dynamics between the two characters took a bit of a hard right turn from their start on the first pages. It started with the narrator explaining how he’s the rule follower and the other Marshall’s pity him for being dragged into situations with a wild, impulsive parter. But very quickly, it’s the narrator throwing himself into traffic and off balconies after a nonviolent, small time drug offender who could have easily been tracked down after the fact. I felt like the personality dynamics weren’t consistent enough. That said, I did like the characters and the action and adventure. The story was hard to put down. The relationship between the two main characters was paced well too. It was a good overall read!

All Kinds of Tied Down - Sheer Bliss
Love, love, love this book and I have most definitely have fallen for Miro Jones but I'm so happy he's found his true love in Ian Doyle. I have a handful of favorite books (any genre) and this is one of them. Miro is the sweetest character, a true teacher in many ways, but he's not sappy - he's infinitely patient with Ian and with some others but he doesn't suffer fools and is so very loyal to Ian - he can't hear a bad word about the man...but that doesn't stop him from affectionately lambasting him himself. Both men are shaken to their very cores if the other is in any real danger and both are so protective of the other. Pure joy for the reader. Also his interaction with the two boys Cabot and Drake - oh that just melted me - he was big brother, protector, role model and so surprised and amused when he realized Ian had misdirected jealousies. He IS calmness, he IS sexy, he is funny, he is soothing - a better man can't be found in my opinion. What can I say, lucky Ian. I have this book in audio format and I think Tristan James is the narrator - he is perfection and he brings Ian and Miro to life (just like Paul Morey brings "A Matter of Time's" Jory and Sam to life). I have read and listened to this book over and over - its my very favorite go-to book - it soothes me to know Miro Jones is around. Another thing I like about this book it doesn't really weave around one plot - it has a lot of little happenings and I like that - its just all about the guys and how they handle things and each other. I think one of my favorite parts is when Miro realizes for the first time he can take things into his own hands...literally and figuratively. He purrs into Ian's ear and puts his love and affection out there for the first time. Bliss.

One of my greatest favourites ever
All Kinds of Tied Down is Marshals Series starter, Book 1. Not a standalone but can be read as one. No cliffhanger.Interconnects to the other main character of A Matter of Time series, Sam Kage and happens in the same city. Sam Kage is the boss of these two Marshals.HEA. MM. GFY-/BI. Contemporary. Romance. Slowburn. Action. Suspense. Crime. Friends- Colleagues- Partners-To-Lovers. Feds-Marshals-Men In Blue.1POV, 1st person. Past tense. First kindle edition 290 pages, published July 3, 2014.Cover by Reese Dante. This book and series is one of my favourite series. It's a firm re-read I count among my comfort reads. I usually love a lot stuff by this name but these are among the total hits I swear by for me. Everything in the writing and the couple and the plot works for me full on. It's just 100%. It sucks me in each time like nobody's business. I rather re-read these than read brand new unknown stuff. I love these. My go to. It's such a great mix of action and interpersonal. Characters are simply so well created.I recommend the series hugely if you like the genre and the tags and or ever loved a book by MC.

5 amazing stars.
This book is typical Mary Calmes, I love her writing, I love how she goes off on tangents, giving seemingly unnecessary details that take what should be described in a paragraph into a couple of pages. Her writing is unmistakable and I get lost in her books. This one was no exception. This is a bit of a crossover from the matter of time series, although you don’t have to read them to start this series, but it will make a couple of things make more sense. All of the book is told from Miro’s pov, and I loved his character, he’s the typical Mary Calmes main character, where everybody loves him, and he can’t help but get himself into difficult situations, and I couldn’t help but love the brooding Ian, I thought his and Miro’s relationship, even before they got together and were just friends, was amazing.Overall the story is an absolute page turner, even without the romance developing between the two main characters there’s a lot going on, and a lot of characters and backstories introduced. I couldn’t put it down, I can’t wait to start the next book in the series.

Just loved it
Amazing book, I fell in love with Miro! And his relationship with Ian grows slowly, still lovely until they're one of the best fictional couples ever! They love and get into bickering, made up and grown up together. Really, really recomend this book.

Wow. This was a phenomenal read - action, romance, adventure and bad assery.
So where do I begin this review? I know, I'll start with the comparison I made to the bff to get her to try the series - This book is like the original Lethal Weapon movie with all the crazy, none of the suicidal and some HAWT m/m loving. Deputy US Marshals Miro Jones and Ian Doyle have been partners for the last three years. When newly minted Marshal Jones joined the Chicago branch of the US Marshals office he was the envy of the branch - he'd been partnered with 'Captain America' himself, Ian Doyle, former (still in the reserves) Green Beret. Doyle was bad _ass_. Soon, however, people stopped being jealous and started wincing at the number of injuries that Miro was collecting as Doyle's partner - because Doyle did nothing by the book and was a little - well - crazy. Not that Miro minded in the least, because he trusted Ian with his life. Trouble was, somewhere along the line Miro's partner had gone and wormed his way into M's heart - he was gonzo for his super straight, dating a really great woman until they busted her brother and she broke up with Ian, partner. So Miro consigned himself to being the awesome bestie that he was as well as the guy who always had Ian's back - except when Ian got the call to deploy. It was during one such deployment that everything went fubar and everything changed. Oddly enough it wasn't Ian who'd been hurt - Miro ended up shot twice and in hospital due to blood loss while Ian came home without injury but not unscathed. Hearing that Miro had been seriously injured while he wasn't around to protect his partner shook something loose in Ian and Miro finally saw the other man's behavior for what it was. Want. Desire. And most of all, need, need to be reassured, to give up control, to know that Miro was there, always there, part of him.Now they just had to deal with people constantly trying to kill them because -hello, marshals - and figure out how to balance their personal and work live and then everything would be perfect. Oh yeah, did I mention the seriously crazy creepy 'Prince Charming serial killer' sociopath who was obsessed with Miro? All in a day's work for the US Marshals. Unh hunh.I loved this book from start to finish. Miro was a thoroughly likeable and _fun_ character. Ian was sexy and taciturn with a heart that belongs to Miro. Miro and Ian's coworkers are fully formed and you became invested in their friendships. If I had one complaint, it was Miro's coven - his 4 female besties - were super women and just a little too perfect, but hey, maybe I'm just jelly ;-) The writing is clean, it conveyed the story perfectly with no excess verbiage and unnecessary exposition. The story was fast paced and kept interest. The partnership and then relationship between Miro and Ian was thought out, logical in it's progression, and lovely to read.

Wonderful
A typical Mary Calmes: two hot men, US marshals and work partners, are in love but both try all to keep their love a secret from their partner out of fear of rejection. As they both are absolutely inable to talk, it takes a very long time of asuming, misunderstanding and guessing until they get their happy end.Miro and Ian are wonderful characters but seeing them not communicating hurts so much, you want to beat some sense in them.Their friends - more Miro's friends - are nice if a bit annoying and always know it better. It's fun to meet Sam Kage at work. ;-)Sure, it's not perfect, but the story is interesting, the non-communicating couple is no surprise for fans of this author and the happiness all around in the ending also is typical.
