Helpful product
Bought this in black for the chaise side of our L shaped sofa. We didn't have room for a full end table and this makes it convenient to put down a cup or small plate. Product quality is sturdy and the springs/hinges hold the tabletop in place. We've also enjoyed using the included phone stand.

This is v2.0 and much improved
I liked this so much that I got a 2nd (his & hers). The first model I got felt a little on the cheap side. So I wrote that in my original review. It looks like someone must have read it.This is version 2 or 3 and what an improvement.- The finish is much cleaner and more "furniture" like. As opposed to the original, that didn't look like they applied any finish. This now has a very finished look to it.- They kept the same piano style hinge, which I like, because it's the tension that keeps the wings snug to the arm of the couch, and is just right.- Best of all is the anti-slip gripper pads that are applied to the underside of both the table-top and the folding side wings. These large, rubberized & textured gripper pads are a marked improvement over the original design. They didn't cheap out with these pads either. The pads cover the whole underside of the table and the whole underside of both wings.- They even improved the phone holder. I tossed the phone holder out with the original table, as the slot was too thin & cheap to hold my beastly phone. This holder is dramatically improved. The width of the slot easily hold my phone and could even handle a thicker phone. The slot is cut with an angle for better viewing of the phone. The design of the method to attach the phone holder is also markedly improved, and is perfect.-The size of the table is strictly personal. I like this size because if I get much bigger, then I risk clipping it with my hip when getting up or down from chair/couch. If you're looking for a TV tray size table, this isn't it. I think of it as a snack/drink table.A stable & attractive table at a very reasonable cost, making this a very easy recommendation.FYI, I think I gave the original table a 3 star.

Back Saver
I am almost always reading if I am in my chair which meant that I was always leaned over using my footstool as a make shift TV tray, holding both my food and my tablet. As you can imagine this is not a very comfortable position that almost always ended with me abandoning my tablet to hold my food, a situation that often ends up with me wearing my food. Having a place to sit my food that is stable and at a reasonable height it great because it frees up a hand to hold my tablet and provides the stability to hold my plate so dinner stays on the plate and not my shirt. I love that it comes with a holder for your phone or tablet, unfortunately neither my tablet fit if they are in their cases. I noticed that the pain job is not the greatest, there are spots where it looks like they got missed but they are in places that are such that I didn't notice them for at least three days. I figure that since my plate goes there it is not a big deal but it should be noted here. Also watch your fingers when removing it from your chair, I snapped it closed on my hand the other night and it hurt but I realized that the spring loading has to work like that to keep it in place while in use. Over I am happy with it and I am considering getting a second one for my husbands chair.

The phone holder is the selling point
This has strong hinges to fit multiple size couch arms which makes it hard to knock over. You can only use your cell phone horizontally and I wish I could use it vertically too. The round shape is nice, but after having a rectangle one, I would prefer the larger space to sit things on then a round one. This one is good for a cup and small plate or bowl and that's about it. If that's all you need then this would work for you.

Very securely held, but smaller than expected.
This item is a bamboo side tray table designed to attach to the arm of a chair or sofa. It has a built-in phone holder that allows you to rest your device on it and still easily view the screen. The tray attached to the arm of your chair via two hinged bamboo gripping arms. Both the arms and the bottom of the tray padding to prevent damage to your furniture. This tray is designed to fit any furniture arm with a width of about 11 inches or less. It is smaller than the image would imply as the tray space is just a bit larger than a dessert plate. You could easily fit a nice dessert plate or a drink and small snack on this tray, but I don't think you'd be successful with a drink and dessert plate at the same time. The phone holder rotates making it very easy to adjust it's location for best viewing.Overall, I really like the look and design of this. It is smaller than I anticipated from the picture, but still well suited for my needs. I would recommend this item as it holds onto the chair very securely and provides confidence that my guests will not be spilling food or drinks onto my chair.

Well made with a strong grip to keep it securse
I put this little table on the arm of my husband's recliner to show it off to him. Big mistake -- he likes it so much that he won't let me take it back! Our recliners have flat, wood armrests, so I was wondering how well the clip would hold on it, as opposed to a cushy upholstered chair like in the sales and review photos. No problem. It's clipped securely with no wiggle at all. A feature we have that most others won't is -- because our armrest is flat wood, it easily slides forward/backward to bring change position as needed. Husband uses it to hold drinks, bowls and small plates, or any other thing he wants to put on a reliable surface. He likes that it's made of wood instead of plastic, so putting hot dishes on it doesn't cause heat transfer to the arm or melt plastic. His big phone with a double-thick case fits in the slot just fine. What's not to like?
