I received it an hour ago and jumped in. I love the way it is written because it is in the perspective of someone learning from the beginning and it gives the explanations of the language in a way that many Spanish books don't. It's difficult to jump into a work book because it has a bunch of words that you already don't know and can't translate. This is detailed with examples and eases you into the transition of thinking/talking in English so that you can translate those things into spanish. Thank you and well done!! Review: Must have - I love the lessons. Easy to follow

All 3 Books In 1: Not too impressed!
This book is 3 in 1. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. If you get this book make sure you didn't already purchase one of the 3 already before. I gave this book 3 stars because it's decent but not the greatest tool to learn from. For me it has too much fluff. It gets to the point eventually, but just too much fluff. Like the whole story of the subject going to Mexico and all that. I could've done without all of that. For me, I love the meat and potatoes because I love to read and I have many more books I'd like to get to. I made it through the book by skipping over his chapter introductions. They really had no good reason for being in the book other than the author thinking that it would add to the enjoyment of reading the book. For some, it may. For me, however, it bored me! I love the design of the book and the explanations and things are ok but it just didn't keep my focus. It's not the worst book. But try at your own risk.

It's becoming a favorite of mine
My newbie as of recently and let me just say, I just started the book and I'm really enjoying the break down in its content. Being an independent learner, I need materials and resources that are highly explanatory and easy to understand. I take notes so I can practice what I'm learning along the way. It's been invaluable so far and I've only had it for about a week. Definitely would recommend as additional or supplemental tools for learning Latin Spanish.

Stress-free and accessible Spanish!
As a heritage speaker learning Spanish through language reacquisition, I really love the simplicity of this book to help me continually practice from the most basic to advanced Spanish. The first section below my language level, but still works very well as a basic tool kit where as the second and third part help me keep up my practice. It’s also very accessible for beginners like my husband who is learning Spanish, but struggles to retain information. I love that because of the range we can both learn together despite our different levels

Deceiving Title, it is not Mexican Spanish
Deceiving Title. The content of this book is 99% Latin American Spanish not just Mexican. Also, the cultural content is not exclusive to Mexico. I actually found some words that Mexican people do not know the meaning, and upon searching online, the words are only used in Spain. I thought this book will give you regionalisms, colloquialisms, slangs, and truly Mexican vocabulary. In the entire book I found just a few words that were exclusively Mexican. This is book that focuses heavily on the Spanish grammar but is not truly well explained. Moreover, the books feel they are all over the place. For example, I dislike how the separated the verb “ser” from the verb “estar” as these mean the verb “to be” in English and these books did a little explanation on when to use each one versus the other. I have found much better books than these to learn Spanish. Please note if you buy this book, you will learn Latin American Spanish, not Mexican. Most of the book is in English, including the advanced book. For my money, I can get better information at a way lower price or even free. I do not recommend this book.

I love the way this is laid out!
I just received this, but I’ve been really looking for something to help me learn on my own now that my Spanish classes are done. I’m enjoying the way. It’s laid out very practical for travel, and even if you’re not traveling, the sections are logical. For example, chapter 1 starts on Monday with readings, pronouns, and it goes through explaining everything like a conversation or like you’re sitting with a tutor. A chapter summary gives you the main points and then a big bonus is a cultural annex to give you very useful local dialect, and finally the chapter ends with exercises. Each chapter divides information up by the days of the week as though you’re traveling. Very practical and user-friendly I’m really looking forward to using this.
