I use this every month or so to stop the washing machine getting smelly - although my machine is used several times a week, it gets a horrible mouldy smell over time (our water is very hard and high in nitrates etc. which may be a factor). This cleaner is better than some other washing machine cleaners I've tried, more effective than washing soda, and if used regularly, does stop it smelling. It doesn't automatically get rid of the black mould that tends to form in the dispenser drawer, in the pipes, and round the door seal, and you need to scrub those areas manually if that's a problem where you live. It leaves a mild fresh scent which fades quickly. It is very annoying that I need to run a hot wash once a month to clean the washing machine (surely they should be designed to stay clean! They brag about how eco friendly they are and promote low temperature washes, but you have to run a hot wash regularly just to clean them!), but that's not the fault of the product.
