Very close to perfect, far better than the fruit based earpieces I "used" to wear...
Do I like these headphones:Yes! I have used insertable earpieces my entire life, and love the sound of them, deep base, and pleasant highs. I have been reticent to try bone conduction headphones as I worried about sound quality... However with the insertable headsets, while riding my bike, I can not hear vehicles or people, even when the insertable is in transparent mode. These headsets have solved all issues! They sound nice-- deep base, and a really bright high end, and I can now hear the vehicle that is trying to run me down while on my bike. Another difference between the Shokz, and the "other" high end headsets is the comfort level... After an hour or so of the insertable headphones, my ears start to hurt... With the Shokz headphones, I actually forget they are on, no matter how long I wear them.Controls:The most needed controls are right on the side of the headsets, volume, phone pickup, power, etc. Shokz choose to use a soft rubber covering over the controls as well, this makes them non slick so when you touch them, your finger stays were you put it. The volume up, volume down, and power controls have engraved markings on them so my finger can tell what control I am touching without removing the headset. They connected right up to my iPhone via bluetooth and have stayed connected. No disconnects... They reconnect instantly as well... I just turn them on, put them on, and start riding my bike. I can also pick up, hang up, and move forward in my playlist all from teh headsets, all with no setup done on my iPhone.Microphone:I have asked people how my audio sounds while riding the bike, and am told it sounds great...Battery:I have yet to run these dead... I take them to work, and use them all day... I ride my bike for several hours, never a dead or even a low battery indication in either situation, so I can't say how long they last... They charge up in an hour or so, again, I have never been able to run them down, so I can't say how long it would take from a dead battery to full charge. This is however how batteries like to be treated for max life, never running then down totally.Storage:I was unaware they came with a really nice case! The case is a bit on the largish side, but it will protect them. It has a good feel to it, and seems well built.Connectivity:I have yet to connect them to a second audio source like my TV, but the instructions say they will do this. The App:The app allows me to select various modes, only bone conduction, bone conduction and speaker, an EQ setup, and a few other things I don't use. I have set the EQ up, and it works, and I run the headsets with both speaker, and bone conduction on. The bass suffers slightly if you turn off the speakers, but is still good.Recommendation:Yes, get these... I wish I had done so prior to spending a bunch more money on insertable headsets.

I've worn these so long they should probably be listed as a dependent on my taxes.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐This is not my first pair. And if something happened to these tomorrow, I'd order another pair before the panic attack was over.I'm a caregiver, which means my day doesn't stop because my phone rings. I can't always drop what I'm doing to answer a call, check a text, or stop helping my mom just because somebody wants to talk. These headphones let me stay connected while keeping both hands free and my attention where it needs to be.I've also never had anyone complain that I sounded far away, muffled, or difficult to hear during calls. In fact, people who know me usually ask if I'm hands-free.The answer is always yes.Not because I'm being efficient.Because my hands are always busy doing something other than talking on the phone. When I tell you I use these every single day, I mean every single day. Seven days a week. From the moment I get up until I go to bed, they're either on my head or charging for tomorrow. In fact, I keep two pairs so one is always ready to go.The best part is they're bone-conduction headphones, so they're not shoved in your ears all day. I can still hear what's going on around me, hear my mom call for me, hear the dogs, hear the door, and still take calls, listen to podcasts, audiobooks, or music. Now, if you're looking for complete silence, that's not really the point of these. Unless you put earplugs in, you're still going to hear the world around you.Personally, I consider that a feature, not a bug.If I wanted complete silence, I'd have to start by muting my household, and unfortunately Shokz hasn't figured out how to manufacture that yet.One thing I learned with this purchase is that I probably should have been buying the Mini version all along.I've always bought the regular size, but this time I decided to try the Mini. For me, it fits much better. The regular version always left a larger gap behind my head between the band and my neck. The Mini sits closer, feels more secure, and is just more comfortable for everyday wear.So if you've ever felt like the regular version sits a little too far off the back of your head, don't automatically assume that's just how they're supposed to fit.The Mini might be worth a look.Apparently my head was Mini-sized all along and nobody bothered to tell me.One thing I absolutely love about these newer ones is that they charge with a regular USB-C cable. No hunting for some weird proprietary charger. No digging through a drawer trying to figure out which mystery cord belongs to which device.Just plug them in and move on with life.My first pair was purchased around 2020 or 2021.The only reason I'm replacing one is because it took an unexpected swim in a river. They are water-resistant.They are not "fell in the river and went exploring with the fish" resistant. That one's on me, not Shokz. The other replacement wasn't even for me—I gave it away.I've actually gifted several pairs over the years to people I really like. They're one of my favorite gifts to give because once people try them, they get it.Even the kids have gotten them.Granted, there are days I'm not sure I like the kids all that much, but overall they're still worthy recipients. For right around $200, considering I get years of daily use out of them, the value isn't even a question for me.The battery life is fantastic. The comfort is amazing. The sound quality is excellent. And they've survived years of daily use from someone who treats them less like electronics and more like essential life-support equipment. One small suggestion for Shokz, if anybody from the company happens to be reading reviews.I love the colors.I really do.But for those of us who wear these all day, every day, I'd love to see a skin-tone option.Sometimes I want my headphones to make a statement.Sometimes I want them to disappear. When my hair is pulled back, it would be nice to have a version that blends in a little more instead of announcing itself to the world.Let's be honest. Not everybody needs the entire room to know they're wearing headphones.Sometimes incognito is a good thing.Sometimes you don't want your boss immediately spotting them during a meeting.Sometimes you don't want people assuming you're ignoring them when you're actually listening perfectly well. And sometimes you just don't feel particularly social and would like your headphones to participate in that decision. The colors are great.I'd just love one that quietly minds its own business.Honestly, if I could remember who first recommended Shokz to me, I'd probably kiss them right on the mouth. And I'm not even sure I liked that person. That's how good these are.

Every day wearable
First of all, bought these over a year ago. They work great. Can pretty much wear them all day and not notice they’re on. Makes it really convenient for phone calls, listening to music, or audiobooks. Must have when running or cycling, and don’t have to worry about them falling off.A year and change later, here’s where it really shines: The power/volume up button stopped working. I contacted customer support, filed a claim, it was approved within 3 hours and my replacement was sent out that day. Excellent product, excellent customer service. Well worth the investment.

Surprisingly compact and comfortable
A colleague of mine recommended these as a solution for the discomfort of wearing a conventional over the ear headset all day long in the office. I must admit I am genuinely impressed by how well these performed. The audio quality is not quite comparable to a proper headset due to the limitations of the bone conduction method, but it's still quite passible for listening to music and works well for taking calls. This particular model is light enough and comfortable enough that I almost forgot I was wearing it during a 4-hour marathon meeting and the battery is sufficient to last about 12 hours of continuous use between charges, making it more or less ideal for a normal work day.Positioning of the headset can be slightly fussy but once you get the hang of it it's very natural. My one and only complaint is the rubber cover of the charge port can be a little difficult to get open.

Impressive, but not without its faults
Pros- Comfortable fit (for the most part, see below)- Great battery life (easily >10 hours)- Great soundstage- Surprisingly decent bassCons- Can slide a bit while running if you are both oily and sweaty- Can be uncomfortable after long periods of time if you also wear glasses (the ear hooks seem to bother the top of my right ear especially)- This is the biggest one for me, but timbre is not so great. The treble is very "crunchy", and other people online describe it as a hiss or high pitch tone that plays constantly.Overall I recommend it if you plan on using it mostly for exercise, as the audio quality did not meet expectations for me.

Phenomenal open ear/bone conducting headphones
Some of the best headphones if you don't like having stuff in your ears. I often have to check to see if I still have them on since they're so lightweight. The buttons respond immediately and make clear sounds when pressed. They of course can't do noise canceling and in loud environments can be drowned out by ambient noise but they have a great sound profile and can even be a bit bass-y. Great for hearing whats going on around you while also listening to some thing else.Charging is super easy and doesn't take long, I've yet to ever completely drain the battery on them and would often wear them all day, not constantly playing anything mind you, but even when they were in constant use their battery life was more than enough to make it. I am thankful they moved to USB C however, I would often forget the cable the first version came with in my car causing me to have to go looking for it when I finally got that voice notification stating they needed to be charged. As previously mentioned they're so light weight, portable and comfortable that I often have to check to make sure I have taken them off.

Great general purpose headset - good for comfort, audio and battery life
This is the one to get, for general purpose Bluetooth headsets. The combination of bone conduction and speakers in front of your ears, not pointed into them, works great. My previous one was a single ear, in-ear type, which became annoying and uncomfortable. This one is comfortable and doesn't get in the way of environmental sound to my ear. The voice on the phone just appears in my head. It's great being able to work with my hands while I talk on the phone or listen to music, podcasts, etc.Music - I'm a sound engineer, and this is fine for casual music listening. You're not going to get deep bass or audiophile detail in music, and it's no substitute for good closed-back headphones, but it's mostly balanced and good enough. I use the Standard setting in the app. The Volume Boost setting doesn't seem to do much at all. The Classic setting, which is bone-conduction only and takes more battery power, doesn't sound as good. I tried other EQ settings, including the 5 band custom one, and I usually stay with Standard. If you need to use the bass or treble boost settings, there's probably something wrong with the source audio.Volume - music volume maxes out just a little before I wish it did. It's not super loud, but it's plenty in a quiet environment. Using it on a bicycle or with significant wind, you'd probably want to put a headband over it, and even then, it may not be loud enough. For podcasts or phone calls, volume is better; no issues with it not being loud enough yet.Phone - Clarity is good, on both ends. The tone is a little low-mid-rangey, as if there's a 400 Hz EQ bump, but voices are generally accurate and clear. Listeners on the other end may hear voices on a TV in the background, but not much of environmental noise like running water or wind. I can talk on the phone and wash dishes in the sink, and it's not a problem. I still need to test if someone on the phone can hear it when I pee.Practical stuff - Battery life is good, say two days with moderate use. I use magnetic USB-C cords where the tip stays in the device, it works for easy charging. It comes with a pretty good case, about the size of two beer cans side by side. Not something you can put in your pocket, and you probably wouldn't want to carry it without the case. But it's comfy enough to just wear it around.Overall, thumbs up from me, especially on sale.

Had to return due to discomfort on the back of my neck when using.
Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 Review: Sound, Sweat, and Slightly Annoying Neck PressureShokz OpenRun Pro 2 headphones? Oh, you’re in for a treat—assuming your neck doesn’t stage a mutiny halfway through your Netflix binge.Let’s start with the good stuff: these things are ridiculously good at what they do. If you're into running, cycling, or just power-walking to the fridge while pretending it's a mission, the OpenRun Pro 2 delivers crisp, clear sound via bone conduction—yes, your cheekbones become your speakers. It’s like science magic, except instead of a rabbit, you get bass (well, some bass—more on that later).Battery Life That Won’t Bail on You Mid-WorkoutWith up to 12 hours of playtime, these headphones outlast my motivation to exercise by approximately 11 hours and 45 minutes. Whether you're crushing a 5K, biking through the apocalypse, or doomscrolling through podcasts, the battery just keeps going. And thanks to USB-C charging (finally, Shokz joined the 21st century), a quick 5-minute top-up gives you a solid 2.5 hours—perfect for when you realize you forgot to charge them again.DualPitch Tech: Bass That Doesn’t Blow Away in the WindShokz added something called DualPitch technology, which basically means, “Let’s fix the weak bass thing.” It combines bone conduction with tiny air-conduction speakers to pump low frequencies directly into your ear. The result? Music actually feels like music, not just a ghost whispering audiobooks into your skull. It’s not Skullcandy-level thump, but for bone conduction, it’s a massive upgrade. The Not-So-Great: When the Couch Fights Back. Now, let’s talk about the elephant in the room—or rather, the titanium alloy pressing into the back of your neck when you lean back on the couch. The OpenRun Pro 2 wraps around your head with a flexible but insistently present band. It’s light and secure during workouts—no flying off during sprints—but the second you relax? It turns into a passive-aggressive seatbelt.Lean back on a headrest, and that sleek nickel-titanium band decides to remind you it exists. It’s not painful, but it’s there, like a tiny roommate who won’t stop tapping their foot. For active use? Perfect. For lounging like a sloth in a hammock? Not ideal.Final Verdict: Great for Moving, Less Great for Melting into the CouchIf you’re looking for safe, situational-awareness-friendly headphones with solid sound and epic battery life, the Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 is a top-tier pick. Just don’t expect to wear them while pretending to care about your partner’s work drama from the comfort of your overstuffed recliner. Save those moments for over-ear plushness. But for runs, rides, and staying alert on the trails? These are your new best friends—even if your neck occasionally disagrees.Rating: 4.5 / 5 stars ⭐(1/2 star deducted from my cervical spine.)

Add it to cart only if you believe in open ear concept
I’ve been using it for one year now, honestly, I got addicted to it. People forgot how I used to look without it. Just keep in mind it’s an open ear concept, so don’t expect a crazy bass that blows your head. It’s amazing for the idea, a headphone that will make you smart, being on your phone watching reels but still listening to the gossips your friends are talking, is a skill

Very good audio device for Outdoor and very reliable merchant.
Item is very good and I use it every single day, somehow, the power button failed to work. I contacted the vendor for the warranty. Without any questions and drama, they arranged the pickup and delivery. After a couple of days, I received a brand new item in unopened box.

Unexpectedly great!
Expensive, even at discounted prices, but very worth it.I was initially skeptical about their performance and online reviews, but I bought them in the interest of road safety while cycling. Their performance has far exceeded my expectations. The sound quality is excellent and music is perfectly audible at medium volume in all but the loudest traffic situation. Wind, even when riding at 35kmph did not affect sound quality. With the ear canals left open, situational awareness is greatly enhanced than with in-ear phones. There is no sound leakage, except at the highest volume (which is actually too loud to be practically usable).Wearing them is very comfortable and within 10-15min I no longer noticed them. They fit without an issue while wearing my cycling goggles and helmet. I chose the standard size after visiting the website and reading the sizing guide. The build quality is excellent and connecting them to my iPhone 13 via Bluetooth and the Shokz app took just a few seconds and the firmware was updated immediately. I have not tried multi-device connection. The volume adjustment and multi-function buttons are easily accessible. Not tried the mic for calls. Primarily using this to listen to music while out riding.Really cool colour (but I wish they'd offered more colour options). The inclusion of numerous reflective stickers with the device is a pleasant, useful and unexpected bonus.Very happy with the product.
