Mellow Queen Bed Frame - 18" Metal Platform Beds W/Heavy Duty Steel Slat Mattress Foundation (No Box Spring needed), Black

I’ve owned this frame for two years and as I’ve moved around, it’s been easy to put together and take apart each time. I would be mindful of any washers or screws, bag them separately if you’re disassembling it. I appreciate that the legs dip away from the exterior ( never had a stubbed toe) Any vigorous movement (liking jumping jacks or bouncing toddlers) of the frame doesn’t cause any squeaky and remains in place. I have a full and it sits atop nicely. Wedged between the frame and my mattress is a separate futon to prevent any harm to my mattress. I’ve never placed my bare mattress on the metal frame itself, I’d rather not to preserve it. I'm unsure if it would get damage and I'd rather not experiment on something so pricey to find out. If I’d travel back in time, would I buy it again? Of course. It’s simple, allows me to transport it easily (if needed), sturdy, spacious underneath, and affordable for someone starting to settle in to their own home for the first time.

I bought this bed in late December 2018 and at the time of this review March 2018, I have good things to say! First off: the only down side- I use a futon mattress and I can feel where the center where the two halves meet. TLDR- used a topper to hide it and got use to it Long story: I’m a recent college grad who got kicked out of his parents house two weeks after I walked. I moved in with a friend and needed under bed storage for my items and I wanted to upgrade from a twin to a full. I used my futon mattress (4 in maybe?) that was lightly used for this platform bed. Assembly was easy. The futon mattress is slightly smaller than the frame and when I first got it, I could feel where the two halves meet. I quickly got use to it and put an old mattress topper on my bed. We have a dog with bad hips that I need to help him up onto the bed. Small greyhound is able to jump up. I can store 6 large totes under my bed with a little wiggle room. I have about 3 inches of clearance above the totes. There is room to put in a long, flat storage box (under bed on its side) too. The metal bars are kind of knee height (I’m 5 ft 6) so if your room is snug you might find forsworn bumping into it. I am a heavy dude at 260 pounds and the bed still has been holding up with me and occasionally my partner of 300. It’s very quiet on carpeted ground. No noise when raucous is going on the beds behalf. If you would like to have your storage Less noticeable, either get a pretty big skirt or make a simple plywood cover if the under storage will not be used a lot. You could possibly find square organizers that fit under the bed too. Some closet organizer dressers can fit under this bed.

I will try to keep this simple. It took me about five minutes to assemble this frame. It is absolutely sturdy, looks great, and has great room underneath for storage. I'm ~240 lbs and my wife is somewhere in the 140's (?... I'm smart enough not to ask). The frame supports us both fine. In fact, the only way I can imagine that this frame could fail is if you screw up the very few and very simple construction steps. It really is pretty idiot-proof. There are very few parts to this frame, which is great. It consists of two separate but identical halves that connect to each other at each end with a pair of bolts, rubber washers, and wing nuts. Once they are connected the entire frame moves as one piece. Each half of the frame folds in half (which makes moving it a breeze), with the middle legs extending straight down once the frame is fully extended. Each end has a pair of legs that then fold down and are supported by two braces that each connect to a bolt in the frame by a notch in the support bar, and then secured by a wing nut. If the legs on each end are not completely straight, then you did not tighten the wing nuts enough. That's about it. If you have a memory foam mattress, simply don't need a box spring, require storage under your bed frame, or just don't want to spend much money, this frame is what you want. I'm fairly confident that the old saying, "You get what you pay for..." does not apply to this frame. It's a great product and a great bargain.

Great buy!!! 9.5/10 Took me maybe 20 min to set up, hardest part was getting it out of the box. I didn't screw the two flats together because my bed is just a bit bigger than the full option (queen wouldn't fit the room) and it works amazing given the fact that they're not connected at all besides only the bed on top. Storage space is amazing and so far I love it. Gave it a 4 for sturdiness because I've only used it for a couple of months, though on first trials it hasn't made a sound, would love to think it'll hold up for around 5 years. It seems very well made with hard/stable bars making up the frame, half the support and legs (which also are tucked under to save your toes from getting sutbbed) and smaller bars making up the slats.. mind you the smaller bars are well supported so they aren't as susceptible to bending/breaking as some of the other models... Definitely reccomend buying I have high hope's for this and have used other bed frames like this

I read the reviews and was nervous about this purchase but this turned out to be perfect for what I needed. I recently moved and had my box spring and mattress on the floor (it's been a month). I have a little dog who likes to mark. Little enough that he could only hit my box spring when he lifted is leg. This frame gets the mattress 14" up in the air. Just enough height to foil my dog's marking plan ;) I put it together yesterday in about 10 minutes. Easy breezy. No squeaks or problems. The construction is pretty good. I am impressed. The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's two separate pieces with no discernable way in the design to hook them together. The weight of the mattress may be enough to keep them together but I just used a couple of tie wraps in key spots and voila, done. What I especially love about this frame is it truly does fully support the mattress weight without a box spring which meant I could throw out the box spring my dog had ruined since my move and he has zero interest in marking this frame. Win! There are more glamorous ways to get a mattress off the floor but those can be peed on! This works perfect for us and for under $100. Sleeps great.

Assembly Required - Easy to Overthink Take out two halves, cut plastic ties on two halves (make sure to set this up wherever it is intended to go, can't imagine WHY would you want to put it elsewhere, but let's preface that here...) Lay both sides flat on the ground, raise up legs to straight standing up Loosen bolts in question, grab leg-stabilizers, pull towards the bolt that stands out in whatever direction it extends (i.e. if it extends towards the left, pull towards left bolt) -Pro Tip: When encountering difficulty in pushing the leg stabilizer onto the bolt, lift it up, and then into the direction that it was slid on from (i.e. if it was on the outer edge of the bed, pull it towards there), and then lift it up while doing so. This should allow you to easily slide it onto the bolt. Secure the fasteners after placing the leg-stabilizers on, and ensure that they do not move, do this for all legs on both frames Push together two halves, slide in the additional bolts through the designated points (one in top, one in bottom), I would suggest having each face a different direction (this is to better reduce the, admittedly very unlikely odds of the bed coming apart if one side is gripped too hard, and the fasteners weren't secured properly or waste away after a time) Verify the stability of all limbs in question, tug at them, ensuring that they do not move nor wiggle around, this is important for safety concerns, as well as ensuring the bed frame does not break - All told, if you take what was stated above (especially the pro tip, do not forget that one), it should take less than 20 minutes, including unboxing, to set up the bed frame. If you do not take my advice, and are unknown to the world of building bed frames like this, or particularly unlucky (I needed to do what I suggested on half the leg-stabilizers; not sure how common that is), it could take longer. All told though, an extremely easy, relatively quick, product to put together. The bed will slide around a bit, it doesn't bother me too much so I haven't found a fix, however others have suggested that you create some sort of means of safely (without leaving anything pointy or sharp) keeping the bed in place, preferably also without damaging the bed or sheets. I would probably just lay down flat cardboard in all four corners, slightly raising the bed off of the frame (very slightly), and preventing it from moving around as much. As I said, untested, but should work.

Get this and you won't need or want a boxspring! This is way better than a classic "4 bars" rectangular bed frame in terms of support down the middle or sitting on the edge of the bed (my old boxspring bowed a little bit on one of those). It comes in two parts and folded into quarters, so great if you have to get it up stairs or around corners where boxspring won't get through. Easier to assemble with two people, but I did it myself. With just mattress it is as high a typical mattress-boxspring-bedframe set, yet leaves room underneath for shallow storage bins. Because I use a bug protector cover on my mattress, I did lay some cardboard and masonite sheets I had around on top so I didn't risk ripping cover on any bars, but I was being extra cautious. There are some slightly more expensive brands of this that have a design with the support legs recessed a little under the frame (if you tend to stub your toes, though hasn't been a problem for me) and no diagonal bars underneath which allows a little larger of storage bins underneath, but those aspects weren't important to me. Also, if you have a memory foam mattress, I think you would need to put some kind of wood or cardboard sheets on top if you weren't using boxspring. I imagine this would be good if you wanted an extra high bed too, if you have mobility issues standing up from sitting, just use it with a boxspring and you'd be about 8" higher than a regular bed set.

We purchased the California King size for a guest bedroom and also purchased a foam mattress to place on top. The frame has several supports to hold the mattress without sags or sways. The bed was easy to assemble, slide legs in place and secure and connect the two halves - all hardware included. Being all medal, we were impressed that there are no squeaks. A plus is the height of the frame as you have ample storage and plastic tubs slide and fit easily underneath. We are so pleased with the purchase that we have also purchased another to replace an old wood frame in another bedroom.

I ordered this frame to replace a Zinus frame I got about a year and a half ago. It has great reviews but completely fell apart and was horrible. Literally everything was wrong with it (the old one, not this one) I was reluctant to order this one but I just couldn't keep using the previous one as the legs were breaking off, it was super loud, screws kept falling out, etc. This one was so quick and easy to put together! It stays in one place, it's very quiet. I can feel how strong and stable it is when I'm lying down. The Zinus one was saggy in the middle, even after I spent more money getting a metal support slats frame for it as the wood ones is came with couldn't support a baby. Such a waste of money and time omg. And it would slide all over the floor. This one, with no extra items or any re-jigging of anything is amazing. It stays in one spot, it doesn't make a sound. My man got up in the night and I didn't hear or feel him do so. With the other one, he'd wake me up constantly getting up and down throughout the night. Drove me crazy. We've been using it for about a week now, and we're so happy with it. Don't waste your money on anything Zinus, the brand is rubbish. This one is the way to go. Plus it's tall, so there's plenty of storage under it

Excelente producto relación costo calidad, el armado esta facilisimo!, No se requieren herramientas, la medida "Full" es justo el tamaño de colchón matrimonial, el peso global de la caja es entre 16-17 kg. Pero en si la base es super ligera, no se patina ya que las patas traen gomas y tampoco hace ruido. Ojo los gatos no vienen incluidos!!!🤣

Muy buen producto. Fácil de armar, no hace ruido ni se mueve, y está a un muy buen precio.

I’m giving this 5 stars already because it was literally the easiest setup I could imagine. Took 5 minutes once out of the box. Seems sturdy too. I’ll update if any issues arise but it seems like a perfect bed frame to use in my spare room

Muy fácil de armar, se puede guardar rápido en caso necesario. Pero lo mejor, es que no hace ruido, no rechina cuando te mueves.
