Works as intended. We'll see how long it lasts.

I Love this thing!
This makes it SOOOOO much easier to get hoses attached without losing any pressure! One of our cars has a fitting that is a bit difficult to reach, so I lost a LOT of refrigerant while struggling to get the hoses connected with a standard quick release fitting. Being able to retract the pin means you can take your time to get the thing hooked up properly and only open the valve when you're ready.

Best there is.
It's one piece. Unlike the cheap ones that are two piece. The cheap ones have a brass fitting that always unscrews when trying to remove the hose. Hate that hate that. This never fails. Spend you money on this you will never regret it.

No quality control
So I ordered two of the exact same r134a couplers made by mastercool from two different places one being here on Amazon. Both the couplers had the exact same issue, where the valve as you turn it scratches real bad and drags. This causes the coupler to wear out faster. I'm not too sure why or how these couplers from two different places could have the same exact issue besides no quality control. Mastercool for some reason isn't doing their job. I will never buy another mastercool product again.

Good quality and rugged design R134a coupler
I bought this to go along with a Mastercool 69000 / 69500 recovery machine setup (buying both this low side and a red high side 82834-E version separately). They are both good quality and of rugged construction that I expect will last along time in professional usage. The blue coloring is anodized and easily scratches off though, so I expect it will wear from use rather quickly in the shop. Has a 1/4 MFL (male) connector so be sure this is what your hose calls for.

Couldn't get it to lock down
'96 Dodge Dakota. The LS coupler from the old US General HF 92649 set wasn't working, it wouldn't let any air through either way. The HS coupler side was fine. Both locked down on the connections for this truck easily.Tried some of the inexpensive couplers found here but none of them would lock down. They'd get almost all the way down and then stop. Tried tapping with a rubber mallet still a no go, and a sledge hammer was out of the question but I did think about it. :-DDecided to bite the bullet and get this one, but same thing it would get almost all the way down and then stop. I measured the LS connection on the truck and it was 13mm, so it appears the inner part of the coupler has too tight of a tolerance. It also makes me wonder if everyone is using the same supplier for that part of it since I was having the same issue with other couplers.Another thing noticed on this one was the center pin was "floating" so to say, seems like it could potentially not center correctly on the schrader valve pin and damage it.Ended up borrowing a friends old Mastercool 89660 set and the LS coupler connected no problem and was able to vacuum down and recharge the system. This is supposedly their best coupler, not impressed. I guess Mastercool isn't the name it used to be.
