One of the best keyboards for gaming.
When you unbox this, the first thing you notice is the build quality. With no tatty plastic or flimsy material, the braided cables, matte black finish, and even the rubber feet show a true dedication to detail. The keys are nicely aligned, with satisfying clicks for every push, and the backlights shine very... "greenly." It's great! The Razer Synapse software is easy to install and use, and you can get going with the board immediately.I'm very satisfied with this buy. As a gamer, I wanted something with quick response time for fps games like Counter-Strike, and this has met that requirement. Razer has done a good job! However, if you're looking for typing over gaming, you may want to cast your sights to a Razer Deathstalker, with much flatter keys. The Blackwidow is nice for typing, but is less comfortable/ergonomic than its counterpart. If you're on a low budget, do not get this model with the lighting. The Blackwidow Expert, or even the Blackwidow TE both have the same key specifications. If you're on a high budget, get the Blackwidow Chroma, or maybe even cast your sights to a Corsair K70 or K95 RGB. These keyboards add custom lighting for every key using software provided. If I could say anything bad about this keyboard... no, not really much. The keyboard is quite loud, but there is a stealth version with silent instead of clicky keys. This is designed for gaming over anything else and thus it has gaming in mind! For my first Razer product, I feel very pleased with it. I hope I helped you!

Robust, clicky, slightly weird font choice
This is a very satisfying keyboard to use. It is heavy and therefore stable. It feels very robust and I have been wondering about the best word to describe the key action; Joyous, rewarding, mechanical, tactile. I'm a 2 fingered typist at best so cannot really comment on how it would fit the needs of someone typing long streams of text, I expect that the clicky key strokes that I find so satisfying may well drive anyone else in earshot mad. However it is not marketed as a typists keyboard, but for gaming and for my purposes it excels. I found the customisation app very easy to use and I particularly like that you can set up different keyboard configurations and link them to specific applications. So for example if you launch MS Word then the macro keys can be configured one way and if you fire up a game then the keyboard shortcuts switch to how you have set them up for that particular game.My only niggle is that the whereas the mechanics of the keyboard succeed because it has been designed for functionality, the choice of font for the keys is one of style over function, an odd mix of lower and upper case, brutal in their angularity and somewhat difficult to read at a glance. I'll get used to it but it's like playing chess with designer chess pieces, you know what each one does but the unfamiliar and contrived shapes don't help your game. Whilst I'm niggling I'll also add my plea for the Caps Lock key to light up or change colour or something rather than have a 'lost in the background' led in the top right of the keyboard. It's a lot of money for a keyboard in the same way that a Range Rover is a lot of money for a car. You get quality both on the surface and underneath and it should last you a very long time.

This keyboard is a joy to use
This keyboard is a joy to use. It sounds and feels wonderful! Very clicky and tactile. I love the emerald green colouring which you can have ranging from bright to slight to adapt to the surrounds. You can't change the colour of the backing light but I love it anyway :) You can use the razer synapse software to assign all the keys on the keyboard for their own use, such as macro's etc too. Seems really useful though I havn't had need to use it yet. The keyboard also came with a 2 year warranty which required registering, but seems like a nice cherry on top of a great product. It feels incredibly responsive while playing games. Much more so than my old mechanical keyboard which had black alps, which are themselves wonderful for gaming. The slimline build of the keyboard is ergonomic which is useful for myself as I often use a joystick for games.Aside from that it has a wonderful feel to the overall unit. Very study and finished with a pretty if somewhat grease holding finish to it.Overall I rate this keyboard very highly and would recommend it to anyone, including friends who are pc addicts themselves. All I need is a razor orbweaver now and my mancave retreat from the family is complete ;) a guy can dream!

Best keyboard ever!!
I just got the keyboard this morning and I already love it. It is awesome. Very well designed, very comfortable. They keys are tough but soft so it's not too hard when you're typing. And the backlit green is amazing. I love it. I can't wait to full on game on this thing with the help of an old friend, DayZ.The Mechanical keys are awesome, There is just something about hearing the click every time you press a key that is just so comforting and peaceful. It's hard to explain, if you own one then you know what I mean.Any gamer out there, I highly recommend this keyboard. It is fantastic to game on. First thing I tried it out on was Minecraft and it is brilliant.10/10.

Great Gaming keyboard.
The Razer Blackwidow Ultimate is my first gaming keyboard so my frame of reference is less than comprehensive. However, this is undoubtedly an excellent keyboard and I've been loving it since it was delivered. I went with The Blackwidow Ultimate 2014 because at the time of purchase both the Blackwidow Chroma and the Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth 2014 (which would have been my first choice) were significantly more expensive. The keys feel great, the ports on the side are useful, the lighting looks great. My only real criticisms are that the finish makes the surface somewhat prone to dirt and the clicky keys are not to my taste (though I realise that is purely a personal preference).Well worth a buy for anyone in the market for a gaming keyboard.

Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2014 GB-Layout!
