I had these before, over time the foam deteriorated and they started to rattle and sound horrendous. Brand new they are great though and very affordable for such a good quality speaker! They pack some deep bass notes (depending on where they are situated in your room) if you are looking for something like office background music or restaurant background music these are a fantastic option. If you crank up the volume these speakers really do pack a punch, so they are great if you’re having a little party. If these are being used for a loud environment I recommend buying more than 2 to get the full potential of their power. I found that you can only really get the best bass and audio quality if you situated them in a specific place in the room you have them in, I have one in each corner on the wall in my room and 3 of them face where I am normally sitting directly and the bass is phenomenal, if you move to a different spot you lose a bit of power from the bass of them. But overall, fantastic budget option! Well done JBL.

I have just received this new pair of Control Ones and are everything that i wanted. The purpose was to hook them upto a Denon M39 micro CD/DAB to use as PC speakers because so many pc speakers have a tiny sound. The JBLs give an open neutral sound, this may not sound flattering but is the opposite. There is no dominance of any frequencies within the range so a lifelike sound is given. They work really well with the PC for documentaries on youtube. The bass as noted by other reviews is not earth shattering ( they are only small !) but is present, controlled and in context. Driven by more than 2 x 25 watts they may well produce an even better sound but connected to any amp they would not disappoint. I am comparing them against a quad set up of floor standing and bookshelf Tannoys driven by a Marantz amp, the JBLs give a great sound and quite sufficient for a reasonable livingroom/tv system or as quality cheap surround speakers. Finish is excellent, I like the plastic cabinet. The Grills simply pull off rather than using fat pins. Wall mounting brackets are supplied which makes them really practical. Recommended

Let's get this straight. The reviews may give one the impression these speakers pack a lot of bass. They don't. Good now that's straight these are still very good value for money and pack a real punch. Put on say, Paul Simon's Classic Rythm of the Saints and you'll be convinced there's a miniture Brazillian band trapped inside the speaker casing. The tweeter manages to catch the high pitched notes with finesse. It's very balanced and the clarity is most impressive. The real payoff though is the midrange. At low volumes music is crisp and clear. Crank up the volume and these speakers come alive. It's like they have a differrent personality when pushed and aren't taking any prisoners. This gives the JBL Control one a solid overall sound range that will do justice to most types of music. I would advise fans of more bass heavy material though to consider investing in a subwoofer (if not already owned) for that extra deep pounding bass which should compliment these well. That way your next house party will rock. Overall the JBL Control one are solidly made speakers which have a great range for your money.

I have been using a pair of Denon/Mission book shelf speakers in my study room powered by a Denon mini hifi for a desktop pc, an xbox. I always felt the speakers lacked clarity and so did some research. JBL CONTROL 1 speakers have been well reviewed and have a reputation for quality so I bought a pair. The good reviews this product received are correct if often understated. THE BUILD QUALITY is excellent. Solid and strong. Yes they are a bit industrial, no wood or even veneers, but they still look great with grills/covers on or off. They come, nicely packaged, with a clever pair of wall brackets that allow the speaker to be positioned in an almost infinite variety of angles. THE SOUND QUALITY is very good, I imagine very few brands can match JBL at this price. Crisp trebles with a clarity that is refreshing to the ears. Mid/Bass levels are strong and tight, surprisingly punchy and perfectly balanced. JBL CONCEPT 1 speakers are more than capable on there own. I would definitely buy these again! I am curious to use these in a surround sound setting along with a subwoofer as I can only imagine that they would be excellent! Highly recommended!

Bought these to replace ageing Castle Kendal speakers as they were too large for our current redecoration. Glad I did because the sound is almost as good but with a much smaller cabinet. I say almost as good because you obviously lose some bass with a smaller speaker but the midtones and hightones are much better than before. If you want more bass you could easily link them to a subwoofer. These speakers however must be wall mounted (brackets are supplied) or they will bounce all over the place. The other thing that is essential is to get the polarity of the cables correct. If you are using speaker cable that hasn`t got the + and - labelled it will be trial and error but when you get it right it will be patently obvious that you have got it right. Power handling is no problem as I am using them with a 200watt amp and they are very happy and will go as loud as you like. Cosmetically they are nice-not very plasticky and a decent weight to them and easy to wall hang. Delivery from Amazon superb as usual. Summary: Fantastic smaller speakers as long as they are wall mounted and correct polarity on cables. If you want more bass get a sub-but I found I didn`t need one. Highly recommended. You can`t go wrong especially at this price, you won`t find better!!

I'm using: HOLLYWOOD the Starsound - HiFi Amplifier Mini-100 | 230 V or 12 V | 100 W | HiFi Final Steps. It really gives a good sound, even when listening to youtube-music. I was recomended these by someone who worked live-concerts for 20 years, some really huge artists/band. He said that basicly every concert uses JBL, even when it says other brands on them. With the good sound these delivers i belive him. Can't verify his claim but he has no reason to lie.

Vorab: Wir haben uns ein Reihenhaus gekauft und brauchten für unser neues 32 qm Wohnzimmer 4 Lautsprecher, die den Sound aller unserer an unserem Pioneer Verstärker angeschlossenen Geräte passabel wiedergeben. Hierzu zählen z.B. der Computer, ein Radiotunder, die XBox und der Fernseher. Bisher haben wir für unser kleineres Wohnzimmer hierzu 2 Satteliten Lautsprecher der Firma Canton genutzt, bei denen der Sound sehr blechern gewirkt hat (was allerdings auch nicht verwunderlich war). Wir haben uns einige Tage im Internet über verschiedene Boxen belesen, und sind hierbei auf diese Boxen von JBL gestoßen. Auch die überwiegend sehr positiven Beiträge gaben letzten Endes den Ausschlag, uns für diese Boxen zu entscheiden. Nun haben uns 2 Paare dieser Boxen für unsere Wohnstube gekauft und betreiben diese an unserem betagten Pioneer Verstärker. Auf ein 5.1 System haben wir absichtlich verzichtet, da 1. unser Verstärker diese Anschlussmöglichkeit nicht hergibt und 2., da wir uns keinen Center Speaker und keine Bassbox aufstellen wollten. Wir sind Beide keine HIFI Freaks oder Klangexperten, aber wir wir beurteilen den Sound für unser neues Wohnzimmer als sehr gut und absolut ausreichend. Wir haben die Boxen auf Lautsprecherständer der Firma Conrad montiert, die wir hierfür allerdings leicht modifizieren mussten. Nun hängen sie in etwa 90 cm Höhe und haben somit eine optimale Höhe wenn man auf dem Sofa sitzt. Die Boxen haben sehr schöne und klare Höhen und gute Mitten, der Bass könnte etwas kräftiger sein, doch für das Nachbarschaftsverhältnis ist das vielleicht von Vorteil. Der Bass hat sich allerdings noch etwas verbessert, nachdem wir 2 der Boxen genau in die Ecke aufgestellt haben, anstelle sie an die Wand zu stellen. Die Verarbeitung der Boxen ist nach unserem technischen Verständnis hochwertig, außer dem Typenschild auf der Vorderseite, welches beim Auspacken bei allen 4 Boxen lose gewesen ist und erstmal neu angeklebt werden musste. Doch das ist bisher der einzige Punkt und wohl auch der unwichtigste. Unser Fazit: Wer nicht viel Geld investieren kann oder möchte, auf ein 5.1 System verzichten kann oder möchte und einfach gut-klingende Boxen zu einem gutem Preis- Leistungsverhältnis haben möchte, der liegt (nach unserer Einschätzung) bei diesen Boxen genau richtig. Ein weiterer Vorteil ist sicherlich der, das die Boxen relativ klein und kompakt gebaut sind, und somit mal schnell zur Party zum Freund, zum Fußbball schauen beim Nachbarn oder zum Grillen auf die Terrasse transportiert und aufgestellt werden können.

j'ai commandé cette pair de JBL sans trot savoir se que sa donnerez, j'ai un amplis ( Yamaha RX-V 681)que j"ai commander sur Amazon. ils m’alimente en face av une paire de BW. Pour l’arrière j'avait une pair de Bose accoustimass sur le mur derrière mon canapé. une des tètes a rendu l’âme pas moyens de le remplacé d'ou la pair de JBL que j'ai coupler avec le caissons de basse Bose. j'ai été tré agréablement surpris par la qualité et la puissance du son. j'ai lu sur le site les commentaire sur le produit, tré bon produit mais!! manque de basse, les aigus et les graves pas de souci couplé avec le caisson Bose s'est que du bonheur. la qualité +la puissance de son des JBL est top. je le recommande vivement, je n'ai aucun regret sur l'achat avec un prix imbattable.

Di questo diffusore si sa tutto o quasi. Il problema che viene sollevato mediamente nelle recensioni, è quello legato alle basse frequenze, considerate insufficiente o addirittura scadenti. A mio parere la qualità di questi diffusori è legata strettamente alla qualità dell'amplificatore oltre alla sorgente usata. La capacità di pilotaggio dell'amplificatore, al di là dei watt, deve essere solida e affidabile cosicchè anche con un amplificatore intorno ai 12-20 watt a canale riesce a esprimere le sue inaspettate qualità sonore. Ma dovrete trovare "il giusto amplificatore". Ad esempio io le ho pilotate con un Onkio da 60 watt rms a canale e poi con un Lepai o Lepy con Tripath 2024+ da più o meno 12 watt a canale. Ebbene i bassi!... Con il Lepai e una sorgente portatile high-res si è aperto un mondo di trasparenza, calore e dinamica ma soprattutto la consistenza e la qualità delle medie e basse frequenze, altro che mancanza di bassi!! Con l'Onkyo tanta potenza ma poca dinamica e bassi velati e inconsistenti. Nota bene "con questo Onkyo", ciò non significa che nel catalogo Onkyo non ce ne siano altri più adatti, anzi!! Dunque, questo era un esempio ma questi diffusori vogliono qualità e dinamica, quindi non imputate loro delle deficienze dovute agli "aggeggi" che gli collegate. La scelta dell'amplificazione da abbinare a questi diffusori è sterminata ma quello che io ho provato (lepai 2024+) è una delle accoppiate affidabili. Poi salendo di prezzo troverete, anche nell'usato, altro ancora più performante...ma tant'è! ( ad esempio i vecchi NAD da 20-30 watt o qualche Marantz o Pioneer delle serie speciali di max 50 watt a canale) Tra i "piccolini" L'SMSL 36 Pro potrebbe essere ugualmente performante con una alimentazione adeguata. Invece sconsiglio gli amplificatori dotati del chip TPA3116 che, a fronte di molta più potenza, il segnale risulta essere, con queste Control One, freddo, iperanalitico al limite della "trapanatura" e privo di reale dinamica. E qui ci sarà certamente una mancanza di estensione delle frequenze basse.

I am using it as a front height speakers and I have not tested these for other uses. So I cannot comment about sound quality. But the seller shipped the speakers promptly and I am satisfied with the purchase. One con of the speakers is that maybe wall mounting system is not that strong as I broke a component of wall mounting system while installing it. But I wall mounted it anyway and it is up on the wall.
