If you haven't tried Tanqueray No. Ten gin then it is definitely worth a shot (or two). First off, this is in a completely different class to your standard gins, and when I say standard I am referring to the standard 40% gin and not the recent trend of gin makers pushing out a 37.5% variety (gordons, I am looking right at you in sheer disgust!). This gin is much stronger at 47.3% so that should be taken into account if you generally like your martini's pointed roughly in the direction of Italy. As a mixer with tonic you could be completely forgiven for forgoing the standard slice of lime or lemon with this especially since it is infused with various citrus flavours. However, it is always good to add the slice as it really does combine with the flavours to give you a great cocktail and the versatility of this drink means that you can use it quite easily in other drinks to add flavour and not just alcohol content! The same goes for Hendricks served with cucumber, the flavour really does show. I will often have a slice of cucumber with no ten too though as it is such a versatile gin and variety is the spice of life afterall! One word of warning, always have a bottle of the standard tanqueray with this as you don't want your guests supping your newly acquired favourite gin whilst your back is turned. In fact I'd go as far as suggesting you hide this along with the chocolate stash and the grappa.

My go to gin. Good balanced citrus taste. Will continue to buy.

Tanqueray is our favourite "go to" gin for a weekend tipple, but occasionally we like to try a premium gin for special occasions. Since we love the "standard" version we decided to try their small-pot distilled premium upgrade - Ten. It is lovely. Subtle and smooth with a little more rounded (fruity?) flavour. It is not as "bold" as some gins you get in its price range but I think that is a good thing. I would rate it slightly better than Sipsmith (which I also like) and The Botanist. However, I do still prefer the delicious taste of "standard" Tanqueray. It is so tasty and enjoyable that I will probably not spend the extra for "Ten" again.

I bought this as a gift as it looked rather special. I was delighted to hear that they really enjoyed this remarking that it was one of the best they had tried. It can be great value when on offer and though I'm not a gin drinker I will buy a bottle for myself.

Une valeur (très) sûre. Un gin à base de fruits frais (citron, orange, pamplemousse). À la fois intense et élégant. Un indispensable.

Ho provato diversi gin negli anni, ma questo resta uno di quelli che continuo a ricomprare con piacere. Il Tanqueray No. Ten si posiziona chiaramente su una fascia più alta rispetto ai classici London Dry, e la differenza si sente tutta. Al naso spiccano subito le note agrumate freschissime: pompelmo, lime e arancia, con un sottofondo elegante di ginepro e un tocco floreale. Non è il solito gin “secco e pungente”, ma molto più raffinato e moderno. In bocca è morbido, rotondo e perfettamente bilanciato. Gli agrumi sono protagonisti ma non coprono le altre botaniche, creando un gusto pulito e persistente. Si percepisce chiaramente la qualità della distillazione in piccoli lotti, che lo rende molto più armonico rispetto a prodotti più commerciali. L’ho testato sia liscio che in gin tonic: - liscio è sorprendentemente piacevole - con una tonica neutra diventa davvero eccezionale, fresco e super elegante Capisco perché sia così apprezzato anche dai bartender: è versatile e valorizza qualsiasi cocktail senza sovrastarlo. ✔️ Profilo agrumato fresco e raffinato ✔️ Morbido e ben equilibrato ✔️ Perfetto per cocktail di livello ✔️ Ottima idea regalo grazie anche alla bottiglia elegante Un gin che rappresenta una vera “sicurezza”: non economico, ma assolutamente giustificato dalla qualità. Der Tanqueray No. 10 ist mein absoluter Favorit unter den Gins. Warum das so ist, möchte ich in dieser Rezension kurz erläutern: Der Name des Tanqueray No. Ten leitet sich von der Nummer der Destille ab, die bei den deutschen Luftangriffen von 1941 nicht zerstört wurde. Der Brennkessel mit der Nummer 10 („Tiny Ten“) hat die Angriffe überstanden und ist bis heute in Gebrauch. Die lange, schlanke, zwölfeckige Flasche mit dem roten Tanqueray Wappen sieht optisch super aus und liegt gut in der Hand. Nach dem Einschenken verbreitet sich der dezente Duft des No.10, der von feinen Zitrusaromen wie Limette und Grapefruit geprägt ist. Diese und eine leichte Wacholdernote sind bei der Verkostung besonders im vorderen Teil des Mundes und auf der Zunge angenehm zu schmecken. Der No. 10 ist während des gesamten Trinkvorganges und insbesondere beim Abgang sehr mild und rund. Am liebsten genieße ich den Tanqueray No. 10 pur auf Eis, oder als Gin-Tonic mit Fever-Tree Tonic Water. Ich habe heute mal einen kurzen Vergleichstest verschiedener Tanqueray Gins durchgeführt: 1. Tanqueray Ten: 47,3% Alc 2. Tanqueray ("normal"): 47,3% Alc 3. Tanqueray Rangpur: 41,3% Alc Der Tanqueray Ten und der "normale" Tanqueray sind sich vom Geruch und Geschmack ziemlich ähnlich. Allerdings kommt beim "normalen" Tanqueray die Wacholdernote viel dominanter zum Ausdruck. Der Ten riecht und schmeckt meiner Meinung nach ausgewogener. Hier halten sich Zitrusaromen und Wacholdernote die Waage. Beide haben den gleichen Alkoholgehalt von 47,3%. Im Unterschied dazu hebt sich der Rangpur deutlich ab. Er ist mit 41,3% "schwächer auf der Brust", kann dies aber durch seine charakteristischen dominanten Zitrusaromen durchaus ausgleichen. Alle drei getesteten Tanqueray Gins würde ich uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen.
