A fantastic EDC for worry-free use!
I recently upgraded to a different, more expensive every-day carry knife and found I was still a bit reluctant to use it for all that it's worth. I was also interested in this CJRB Pyrite-Light because it offers so much for the price, so I picked up one of these as well. I figured I'd be less worried about using it since it is significantly less pricey. (Yes, what's the point of having the expensive one, then? LOL) The Pyrite is very impressive. The (presumably spray-form) AR-RPM9 steel blade arrived sharp enough that I'm using it out of the box. It's beautifully designed Wharncliffe blade profile offers a long, unbroken cutting edge, having a very slightly curved belly, with an excellent point for fine work. The grind is smooth and clear of contours that might disrupt a deeper cut. The FRN scales seem sufficiently durable and fit over a full-length steel liner. While not marketed as an assisted opener, the spring action behind the blade still gently functions to help propel the blade to its deployed position. The button lock can be used (if somewhat awkwardly) to swing the blade open and shut with a flick. (To do this, pay careful attention to be sure the blade locks in the opened or stowed positions afterward. The knife will not snap itself into these positions by itself because it only locks after you release the locking button.) After reading several reviews disparaging the CJRB button locking system, I was first apprehensive about this knife. I happily report my Pyrite-Light has none of the anomalous behaviors that other reviews have reported. No sticky nor seized lock button, no accidental unexpected release from the locked-open position. Still, due to these reports I would not consider this model for "combat" use. However, I have no such purpose in mind for this utility tool-- hence my preference for a more generally functional Wharncliffe design.

DONT SLEEP ON THIS BRAND
Do not be like this and constantly look at this knife and pass on either because you think "Is it good as they say" "IT must be overhyped" "I can get it next time" Well, you can always get it next time but that is not important. the knife is not overhyped, it is properly hyped and talked about for a reason. I thought the same thing when first buying the Mini Praxis 2 years ago. I own two of them. Now having used this knife, the Pyrite light. I have cut down boxes, bags, plastic, and food. The Wharncliff blade, the AR-RPM9 steel, the FRN handle. Its lightweight. It will slice through pretty much everything you may need it to do and is so easy to sharpen. Its very ergonomic and the grip is spot on. The button lock is stable and does its job. The size is on par with most other knives of its price range. Do not pass this up and it is well worth the 25-30 dollar depending on sale or not sale. IT is a great addition and it will not disappoint, unless you are looking for a large heavy duty blade, in that case, you might want the Large version. I am very decisive when picking a knife and require it to do each of these three things without fail. Be a knife. Be easy to maintain, be easy to use. And if it fails any one of the three it gets passed up by me or gets shelved permanently. all of this to say, this knife, has single handled changed my mind on CJRB or Artisian cutlery as being a cheap knife brand. They are not, they are budgety and even if they priced at near 45 dollars it would still be worth it.

Fantastic EDC knife for the money
I was looking for an inexpensive, lightweight, compact, good quality EDC knife for occasional travel and the Pyrite Light seemed like a good fit. And not that I was expecting a bad product given my past experience with CJRB products , but what I got was much more than expected given its price. The FRN scales were very well contoured, comfortable, and well textured. The inset steel liners made if feel very sturdy and well built yet it was still lightweight. The action was beautifully smooth and light with great thumb studs and button lock. The blade was extremely sharp and slicey and had a nice crowned spine. So it turned out to be something I wanted to carry much more than occasionally. That then led to ordering one just released in S90V that's the same other than blade steel, price, and available colors. And I find it in my pocket much more than many much more expensive options. Highly recommended. Really outstanding for the money.

A sweet blade and high quality knife for the price!
This is an excellent quality knife for the price! It is razor sharp out of the box and the action is smooth. With the push button lock release the blade glides smoothly downward. This knife has a solid feel with the contoured finger slot and grippy texture and gimping on the blade. Overall this is a fine knife.

A high-value, good quality EDC knife…
It’s a pretty good value, good quality knife, overall (especially on Prime Day). Blade is nice and sharp, and it’s a useful length and shape. Blade steel is AR-RPM9, which is nothing particularly special, but not bad, either. It’s on a par with 9Cr18MoV, so it’s sufficiently tough and corrosion resistant to make a nice EDC knife. The action is very smooth and the lock-up is spot-on. Loses a star because the blade was slightly off center (requiring tinkering with the pivot screws to set right) and the scales are made of FRN, which feels a bit like plain plastic compared to G10 and micarta. This is where CJRB cheaped out a bit to bring the price down, and that’s ok. It means you won’t be reluctant to actually use this knife on the daily.

Great EDC
This is an excellent knife for the money. As the name suggests it’s very light and the build quality is solid. The blade shape is great for utility type cuts and takes a wicked edge. The stonewash finish doesn’t show scratches and the button lock and thumb studs make one handed operation a breeze. It is definitely one of my favorite knives to carry.

Amazing EDC
I own around 50 folding knives ranging from $15 to $750. This CRJB Pyrite Light cost me $29 and it is one of my very favorite pocket knives! I love the steel, the stone wash, the button lock which doesn't stick, the action which is so smooth. The blade is very sharp and slicey. The knife is light and very pocketable. I can't say enough good things about it. Definitely recommend this knife!

Don't sleep on this EDC knife
Excellent EDC knife. It's steal at $25. Good deep-carry clip. Comfortable grip. Won't tear your pockets. Arrived sharp, stayed sharp for a very long time, and resharpened easily when it finally needed it. Very fidgety and really good button lock.
