Accurate and charm to use but a little confusion on instructions.
I thought this would be a little on the flimsy side. It is not. It is pretty hefty. To insert the batteries, you must unscrew the back. When I first inserted the batteries, it did not work at all. I had to remove the back a second time and make sure the batteries were inserted securely. Then it worked. It is not too intuitive. There are two buttons. One button is for well lit situations, and the second button is for darker situations. There are six small LEDs in the base that light up when the second button is pushed. There are two options for turning the stirrer on: push the button for the stirrer only or push the button for the stirrer and the lit LEDs. I would think that one button would turn on the stirrer and the other would turn on the lit LEDs. Again, one button turns on the stirrer only. The other button turns on the stirrer plus the lit LEDs. The instructions say to turn the stirrer off with the same button you used to turn it on. That is, if you turn it on with the "stirrer on" button, turn it off with the "stirrer on" button. Likewise, if you turn it on with the "stirrer plus lite" button, turn it off with the "stirrer plus lite" button. However, I found that once the stirrer is on (with or without the light) using either button, then either button can turn it off. That is, if you turn it on with the "stirrer on" button, you can turn it off with the "stirrer plus lite" button and vice versa. I always had a hard time stirring the solutions by hand, this is a great and easy fix. It is much easier to add the solutions to the tube with the automatic stirrer until the color changes. The color changes immediately. No need to stop and shake by hand then continue adding drops.

A must have for pool chem testing
I recently switched to using a Taylor test kit that gives multiple measures of my pool chemicals, but it requires that you agitate the water as you add drops. The first time I did it, my wrist hurt for a day after from all of the rotations. This thing not only solves that issue but it reaches the end goal much faster and is so easy to use. The lighted base helps see the color change more easily too. Good quality and easy to store along with the test kit. A bit of a financial splurge, but well worth it. Testing is a breeze now. Highly recommend.

Very defective!
It arrived with the device, the vile, the cap, the stirring pill and batteries, no instructions minus the small few lines on the back of the package. There is nowhere to slide at an apartment to put the batteries. There’s a small silver screw in the back which once you remove and remove the back, there is nowhere for the batteries to go. There’s no spraying in for the negative and no coil in for the positive no types of pins of any kind. I read other reviews and saw this was an issue. There is a socket on the back for some type of power supply however, there is no cord with this device, and if there was a cord with this device, if you plugged it into the bottom, obviously it’s not gonna sit flat for you to put your vile on to do your test. Very confusing. Returned for refund.

Very Pleased - Used First Time Today
Normally something has to be very bad or very good for me to take the time to write a product review. This is a very good one. Please note I've only used it once but this one time made checking the pool SOOO much easier. I did purchase enough of the magnets and 9198 tube that I didn't have to get up and continually rinse. But just having this little handy dandy mixer was awesome. I finished checking in half the time and it was easier to watch for the specimen to change color. We also use the Taylor K2006 Salt Test kit (Pool Company recommended it) and we have had a perfect inground pool all year long. Check back because this mixer does seem a little cheap feeling (I rated 4 stars for value) but it is heavy and didn't have problems during the first use ... I'll repost if it fails anytime soon. One note for any cloudy pool owners ... this is outside this product review but check your phosphates. Our pool store luckily had someone that lives in our area and they forewarned us about the high phosphates in our county water (we never could get above ground pools clear in the past). We purchased the phosphate test strips from Amazon and found she was right. She told us add phosphate remover at about 1 cup per day (not to add too fast) and our new inground pool has been crystal clear all year. Google about phosphates in your pool water and see the effects it has. Hope this helps someone.

A Must Have tool if you do your own pool chemistry treatment
I thought this magnetic stirrer was pricey but after using it all summer to mix pool chemicals, it's well worth it. It's a high quality product that allows me to quickly mix chemicals and do proper pool chemistry water testing with my Taylor kit. It has cut down the time it takes me to swirl vials and has been a great help during the summer months when I test sometimes multiple times a week. Highly recommend! Tip: If you need to reach the 25 mL mark, fill the water sample to the top and then tilt the vial until the top of the water touches the top left corner and the bottom right corner at the same time.

It's a game changer
This thing is great if you test your pool water often, and you use the drip count method. Not cheap, so it's kind of a luxury item, but I will not likely go without one again.

Makes testing pool easier and more accurate
I love this device! It makes testing my free chlorine and total alkalinity so much easier and more accurate. I did not like shaking after every drop and would often cheat and get less accurate readings. There are some other companies that make these stirrers but I'd get the Taylor for $10ish more. It fits nicely in the K2006C box and has the relevant waterline markings. My one complaint is the 4x AA batteries that arrived with the product did not work. But I have plenty of batteries here at home that work just fine. That small inconvenience isn't enough to take off a star since I love the product so much.

Makes pool testing much easier
This little magnetic stirrer isn’t a must-have, but it’s definitely a nice-to-have! I use it with my Taylor pool test kit, and it makes the whole process faster and easier—no more manually swirling the vial. Just drop the stir bar in and let it do the work while you add the reagents. It’s not essential, but if you test your pool regularly, it’s totally worth it for the convenience. I’m glad I grabbed one!

Be careful if you are going to order a Taylor Magnetic Stirrer
The Taylor Stirrer arrived with no internal battery sled, no plastic terminal tray and no stirrer. Completely unusable due to manufacturing defects.

Received broken one twice
Ordered and received one that did not work. Sent back and thought would give another chance and order a replacement. Replacement arrived really quickly. Unfortunately, it was the SAME broken one that I had just sent back.
