Model 181 is the bottom cage with shelf only.Model 182 is bottom cage/shelf and an add on unit.Model 183 is only an add on unit that you can add to models 181 or 182.Hope this helps :)

Are the base and larger middle floor wire flooring?

There is a wire flooring which cannot be removed, and then solid plastic removable trays over them like on the half floors.

does this unit come with a top? or is it just four "walls"? i am looking to assemble three parts next to eachother, but then i would need three tops.

It does come with the top however, it is only designed to be attached to a bottom. It is a add-on-piece. Is not designed to be a stand-alone piece.
