SmallRig Camera Cage for Panasonic S9 with Quick Release Plate for Arca

The SmallRig cage is exactly what the Panasonic Lumix S9 needed. The camera’s compact size is great for portability, but the grip and mounting options were lacking. This cage adds just enough bulk to improve handling without ruining its compact feel. It’s lightweight, full metal, and matches the camera’s aesthetic well. I especially appreciate the added front grip and the two cold shoe mounts — perfect for mics or lights. Battery and card access remain fully usable, and it even includes an Arca-Swiss plate for quick tripod setups. If you're a content creator or hybrid shooter using the S9, this is a smart upgrade. I use it as a b-cam.

Without the grip, the bottom part of my thumb would constantly hit the playback button on the S9. With the addition of this Small Rig grip it moves my hand out and slightly angles it in such a way to where the bottom of my thumb no longer bumps the playback button. For that alone this is worth it. Nonetheless, it's also just a fantastic cage. Lots of mounting points and even a couple of cold shoe mounts. The texture of the grip matches the texture of the S9, which makes it look like it's part of the camera. Excellent attention to detail there.

The first unit I received appeared used—it had scratches and even a small piece of tape on it, which I only noticed after opening it in better lighting. Since I paid for a brand new item, I requested a replacement. Thankfully, the replacement was brand new, and I’m happy with it. Overall, I love the design and versatility of the cage. It fits the Lumix S9 perfectly and adds great security. I use it mainly for attaching my Insta360 X4 to capture BTS footage while shooting photos.

Great little cage for the s9. I use mine with a top handle and v mount battery. I added a footy arca swiss plate and its works amazing.

Great build quality fit & finish as always... but why on God's green earth would they possibly decide to not put any mounts whatsoever on the grip side of the camera. It is a genuine pain in my butt when rigging my S9 crash camera & I often have to mount the camera upside down then flip the footage in post to get certain shots that could have been much easier to rig with 1/4 20's all the way around the cage

An absolute must purchase to make up for the seriously flawed design of the s9. The s9's ergonomics are essentially non-existent, and this adds an actual grip to the body. The grip isn't perfect and suffers from a bizarre design choice to not only to have the grip shorter in length then, say the version for the canon m6mkii9, but they also added a rubber / fake leather area to a portion of the grip area itself. I understand what they were trying to do, but it's just not work have a shorter grip. If you're goign to add a grip, make it full and comfortable. This is more of a 1/2-3/4 sized grip compared to what it could be. For reference, my hands aren't big nor small, and on the slender side. All that being said, it does exactly what its supposed to do. If my comparisons confuse you, look at the version for eos m6 mkii that's previously mentioned. But it is best if you can compare them next to each other so one can truly get the gist of my notes.

Eccellente come tutti i prodotti Smallrig. Avrei aggiunto come costruzione del prodotto dei fori nel lato destro per agganciare una maniglia e il morsetto reggi cavo HDMI.Per il resto è eccezionale

Passt perfekt zu S9 von Lumix, was ja der Zweck ist. Sorgsam montiert ersetzt es fast ein <Schwebestativ. Hier wurde noch der smallrig TOPHANDLE und ein leichter linker SIDEHANDLE montiert. Die angenehme Foto- und Videokonfiguration.

As with all Small fig products this cage oozes quality and the internal padding helps protect the camera exterior from unnecessary and unwanted scratches, scuffs, burrs etc. I REALLY look after my photography equipment and this is a really useful add on to help keep my kit in tip top condition. The various fitments and screws around the cage will help when I need or want to go t external light boxes, my various tripods are also catered for. The built in external grip is a major plus point as I found the standard Lumix S9 grip a bit small, this is perfect for my BIG hands and longer lenses. The cage attachment points fit either the Peak design or standard camera strap perfectly and are will balanced. Brushed anodised? aluminium is a really cool😎 looking finish and looks gorgeous, but with confidence it really is a well thought out design, strong, sturdy and a real looker👍😉😎♥️
