Best light I have ever owned. Very bright if you need it. Flood light is even no dark spots. Ability to easily dim is great. Magnetic base works very well. Battery life is amazing. The rechargeable battery is great. The ability to change from cool to warm light makes it good for both work and relaxing by the campfire. The handle will fit a camera tripod giving the ability to direct light wherever it’s needed. Works great for pulling up after ice fishing into the evening. I like to bounce the light off the ceiling of my camper. Lights up the entire camper with the color and brightness we want. Only thing I don’t like is the rubber cover on the charge port. You have to be very careful inserting the plug otherwise the handle will contact it.

Love the ability to change the battery (2700). Great to choose color temperature from warm to cool & the ability to have a step less light intensity do you can dial in exactly your light level. The magnets are weak. Kind of holds on textured metal surface but a smooth surface like a car or refrigerator it slides. Too bad almost a perfect light

Nice latern! Unlike the more expensive Fenix CL28R, this lantern has both a removable battery and the option to have either a spotlight, flood light or combined spot/flood (vs. CL28R only having a single option). The red light (solid/flashing) is nice, although the flashing red light is slow. The build quality is great, although only the front of the lantern is metal with all other components being plastic. Some have indicated that while the battery is removable, it is not a standard size. I have not checked into this yet to confirm or dismiss it. Regardless, it is removable, unless the CL28R.

This is a really nice work light/camping light that is very easy to use. Aside from a button that can be pressed to show battery strength while also being used for the red light, there are two rotary knobs for on/off and light intensity and color change. An equally important feature is the easy access to the battery by using a coin or screw driver to reveal the 21700 lithium battery. The handle has a place to screw on a tripod as well as a magnet. I paid a bit more for this light due to its excellent design and features. Fenix has another light similar to this one but without easily replaceable battery, a reason not to get it though it may put out more light. Highly recommended.

I have been a Fenix fan since my first flashlight from them about a decade ago. Budget option to Surefire and it sustained use until the tailswitch gave up and their warranty coverage swapped it for a newer version of a similar unit (slightly more expensive, might I add). This light is very good at what it offers. I wish the magnet was a tad more aggressive, it is enough to hold steady at any angle you set but not enough to be disturbed with any "intense" bump. The roller switches are slick and absolutely no step, just smooth transition into or out of intensity. Spotlight is as powerful as my PD36R with a little more narrow of a window but functional. At high shine it is very stout with good throw. I don't like the all plastic body with a plastic arm/bracket it hangs on. The lens is plastic as well. I want to be more careful with this than I do my other Fenix lights which tolerate abuse like champions. I've had a coworker drop one from 15' up and onto concrete and it didn't even blink. Body damage, but it never shut off. Still got submerged and dealt with work later. Still in the fight to this day! It fits perfect in a cargo pocket, so there is a solid camp boon. I like the 1/4-20 thread on the bottom for a mount. If you want to tripod it and use the flood and adjustable temp this is a photog's dream! I was a once more serious photographer and the ability to change the colour temp on a dime is so handy for how much fill you can get is insane. There is versatility here, in small spaces. Honestly looking at it as a tac light or emergency light only is marketing it short. It's solid, but my gripe would be durability. I beat up my tools, and I don't know this would last like the flashlights do. This will be "babied" on my worksites.
