The Old Farmer’s Almanac has been making every day special since 1792, and, with the 2025 edition, it continues this tradition in its inimitable fashion. Trusted by generations from all walks of life for its honesty and accuracy, the Almanac delivers fun facts, predictions, feature articles, and advice across many interest areas to readers who actually live—or aspire to live—the country lifestyle, with the intent of helping them to make better decisions. As a calendar of the heavens, it provides detailed daily astronomical data (Sun/Moon rise/set times, length of day), tide times, and planet/star sightings for every sky watcher, from novice to expert. As a calendar of the year, it presents annual and seasonal events, holidays, anniversaries, and timely trivia; astrological “Best Days” and cycles; and much more for the curious and the conscientious. As a time capsule of the year, it contains cultural trends; weather forecasts and conditions; articles on interesting topics such as gardening, home arts and remedies, amusements and contests, history, husbandry, nature, cooking and recipes, folklore, pets, and sports; and more—all in a way that is “useful, with a pleasant degree of humor. Long recognized as North America’s most beloved and best-selling annual, this handy “little yellow book” is often imitated but never equaled. It is an American icon that instills in readers a feeling of being connected to the history of North America and its people. This edition of the 2025 Almanac features a semi-rigid cover (no hole), which helps to protect the book’s pages—a plus for those who collect the Almanac each year! It also features whiter paper and larger type than what is found in the paperback classic edition, making it even easier to read. Review: Insightful, and oh so often, completely correct! - This book increases our knowledge, open our eyes, tickles our funny bones, and is incredibly insightful in what it predicts will occur in 2025 ! Review: Will always be subscribed - Recently my husband and I have thought about subscribing to the newspaper again. I miss the times when we used to see people reading the newspapers as a child. I'm 32 years old now and everyone's on their phones all the time. It's almost a culture shock when people see people reading books. It's a huge problem. I have been developing a perpetual calendar myself using the planets and such along with tarot. I had a thought about the old farmer's almanac. I have never used it but I've seen it around. My grandmother was a subscriber and so was my husband's grandfather all their lives. I finally found it on desertcart which I'm thrilled. I bought the hardcover since I'm using this stuff religiously. I love how it's almost like reading a newspaper but with news that actually matters. It's not filled with garbage and plagues and stuff. Even though this year had a really cool article about a copper nose zapper to kill colds. I loved flipping through the book and seeing the food recipes, the article about hugging and other really interesting things. It has everything. Things about the zodiac, when to plant, when to do certain procedures for personal care and so much more. I actually asked myself why we hadn't been subscribed to this book all this time. Thanks so much for continuing the tradition. I hope this book NEVER goes out of print. They also missed out on the opportunity to make their hard cover copies yellow instead of blue. I find the sleeves to be annoying, so they don't live long on my books. But that would be something fun to see so the hard cover copies could match the soft colored ones. Then they could make the gold foil black like the letterings for the paper copies.

I recently picked up a copy of The Old Farmer's Almanac,
I recently picked up a copy of The Old Farmer's Almanac, and I have to say, it’s quite a treasure! Honestly, I didn't know what to expect, but I've found it to be such a delightful mix of practical information and charming stories. The weather forecasts are surprisingly accurate, which is helpful for planning my gardening and outdoor activities. I also love the gardening tips and recipes—they're simple and really easy to follow. Each year, I look forward to the new edition because it feels like a little tradition in our household. What I enjoy most, though, are the historical anecdotes and folklore sprinkled throughout. It's like taking a step back in time and learning about how farmers lived and worked with nature. It’s a nice break from the digital overload of today. Overall, if you're looking for something unique and useful, I definitely recommend giving The Old Farmer's Almanac a try!

Loaded with great information
Great! Detailed information about weather patterns and planting information. Has many specific helpful hints to manage insects, diseases, type of soil and needed additions to assure the right type is used for better growth, development, and foot development feeding and watering plants. Provides specific information for each group of vegetables and fruit indoor and out. Sometimes good recipes. I find the information extremely helpful. Have a raised garden which utilizes large bins, as well as garden bags.
