Nioxin Hair Fall Defense Shampoo | For Visibly Less Hair Loss

Love this shampoo! The lather is rich and not stripping. Has a pleasant scent & sensorial experience as well. It’s only been three washes so I can’t speak to the hair fall, but I enjoy it enough that I’ll actually keep using it on a regular basis. Have also been having great hair days using this! Hair is clean but also soft, refreshes the scalp.

Girrrrrrl... When I tell you that I have been on a JOURNEY to finding a shampoo that my hair and scalp like, I am not kidding. The money I have wasted on shampoo after shampoo only to be disappointed time and time again. UNTIL NOW. I can't say that it stopped my hair fall completely or even at all yet, I still notice shedding. But I do have underlying conditions and am on medication that can be factoring in to that. So many shampoos feel good the first 1 or 2 times I wash, seemingly less hair fall, but then start building up product on my hair that make it feel oily or waxy, so then I need to use a clarifying shampoo to get the product out and my hair feeling normal, meaning I'm having to buy another product just to take care of the first product and it's a never ending cycle and well, call me lazy, but it's a b*tch, girl. Ain't nobody got time or money for all that. I have been using this product for a couple months and I have never once felt like my hair was oily, waxy or building up product. My hair feels soft after washing and for the next 2 days. I'm very sensitive to smells and this one doesn't have a strong scent. It just smells clean. i also had an itchy patch on my scalp behind one of my ears and I noticed recently that it's gone away since using this product. Do be aware that it's not detangling, so if you usually get tangles after washing, make sure to have something for that.. I use my Paul Mitchell leave in conditioner after I wash my hair and it works great. Don't let the small size and high price tag scare you, cause it's worth it. I was at my wits end trying to find something that worked for me, ready to give up. I'm so glad I have this a try. I hope it works for you too!

As I continue in my quest of finding a product that will stop my hair loss, I had read an article about the new Nioxin Ultimate Power Hair Fall Defense shampoo. I decided to try it because they are a trusted brand and the reviews on here seemed hopeful and what do I have to lose besides more of my hair and my money. I actually had been encouraged by the mention of the fragrance in the AI overview. I thought great, I like fragrance and maybe Nioxin finally has that figured out. The price is a bit steep in my opinion so at least the shampoo could leave me with some clean wonderful smelling hair. I was deceived. Nioxin why does your shampoo still smell like your coworker who just took their smoke break and thought some mint chewing gum would cover it up but they just reek of stale cigarettes and mint?? I get the mint as it “stimulates” the scalp but can’t there be an improvement on the fragrance? To be noted, the shampoo lathers up beautifully and leaves my hair feeling nice and clean. I have to use extra conditioner on my ends but that’s not a deal breaker especially if it truly can lessen the excessive shedding. I also bought the Nioxin Ultimate Power Hair Fall Defense Serum to use along with it as recommended. I have only been using it for a few days and have not seen an improvement thus far but will update in a couple of weeks.

I really hoped this would work but it caused itchy scalp and more hair loss than normal. I contacted Nioxin company directly asking them if this was normal, when would it stop, and did they have any studies than just the one done with 30 subjects. They never responded. I lost so much hair, it's back to before I did any hair growth products. This has so much SLS in it that it suds up with just a little amount. This should have been a sign from the start that this wasn't a good product. You can see in the pictures that my hair loss got worse with this.

This shampoo has been amazing after only two washes! My shedding both while washing my hair and while drying/styling had been significantly less. My hair also tends to get oily quickly. I was able to go three days before needing to wash it again. And I had far less shedding in between washes as well. Overall very pleased after only using it twice.

Smell like peppermint. Cleans well. Pricey but okay. Sample, need to use longer for effective.

It's not work for me

I rarely leave reviews, but this shampoo deserves it. First off, the scent is amazing—clean, fresh, and not overpowering. A little truly goes a long way, so one bottle lasts forever. This bottle should last a year and I have very long hair! It’s the only thing that has actually helped with my postpartum hair loss (telogen effluvium). I’ve tried so many products with no luck, but this one made a noticeable difference in shedding and regrowth. Make sure you leave this on your scalp for a few minutes to see the best re growth results! I would recommend using this for 2-3 months as that was how long it took for me to see new regrowth!

Husband was going bald, could see results early but nearing the whole bottle it has made a drastic change. He went from almost shaving his hair off completely to now growing it.

This is great love it helps heaps with losing hair and thinning hair I use twice a week has made a big difference my hair is thickening up again I have lots of new strands growing back highly recommend I also use a nixion conditioner with it

Trying to help myself keep the hair that I have on my head. It’s been 3 months of use and It does strip a lot of the natural oils so make sure you get a moisturizing conditioner. but I will say that I am starting to notice a difference on the sides of my head that you could see my scalp before through my hair, now it’s a bit thicker, less scalp yay! I also started using biotin with this and on occasion I do put caster oil on my scalp before bed and give it a nice massage (then do this shampoo in the am). I think when you’re dealing with hair loss the more tools in your kit the better. I still have 3/4 of a bottle so a little does go a long way. It also has a nice scent to it. Overall pleased will buy again.
