Bluetooth Smart Blood Pressure Monitor for Home Use – Automatic Digital Upper Arm BP Machine with 8.7”–16.5” Cuff, iOS & Android App Compatible, Large Backlit Display

I have been using the Omron 10 BP785N https://www.amazon.com/Omron-Upper-Pressure-Monitor-Standard/dp/B00KPQB2SS/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=omron+10&qid=1560386740&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1 daily for a while now. I have been overall satisfied with it, although I don't like writing down the results twice daily and keying it into my phone app. I was thinking about getting the wireless version Omron 10 BP786N, but there are a lot of complaints that the Bluetooth will not connect. Omron specifically listed my phone, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Android version 8, as not being compatible. (Only Android ver. 6 and 7, although I'm sure it would probably work with ver. 8.) Rather than take the chance of it not being returnable, and since I saw this unit on sale at Amazon, and since this unit has many positive reviews about Bluetooth successfully connecting with phones, I decided to give it a try. Not really thinking about the cuff, I am surprised at how difficult it is to tighten it with one hand. Using the right hand to tighten the left arm is doable. But it is VERY difficult to tighten the right arm with the left hand. The Omron 10 unit comes with a "Easy-Wrap ComFit Cuff" CFX-WR17 (which can be purchased fairly inexpensively) which is a "Pre-formed expandable firm arm cuff ". This cuff makes it extremely easy to connect to your arm. I decided to try it out on this machine. The Omron cuff fits perfectly into the Balance BP Monitor. I tested out both units with both cuffs, and the readings appear to be reasonably the same. I actually have 3 of these Omron cuffs (since one wore out) and I plan on comparing both machines for a while until I'm satisfied. https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00P6SATT8 If you are going to do this twice daily, you might as well be comfortable doing it IMHO. So, the setup with Bluetooth was extremely user friendly. You just open the app on your phone and follow the instructions. You hold the arrow up on the device until the pairing message comes up, and the app on your phone connects to it on its own. I always have Bluetooth active on my phone, so the app found the BP monitor within seconds. The app itself is rather limited, but it works. I found that it is best to have the app open when taking a reading. It will update automatically that way. OTOH, if you choose to take readings with the app shutdown, it will sync up the next time you open it. (Although, this seems to take longer than one would expect.) I had tested the app before I got the device, so I sent myself a history list via email, and it works fine. The only modification you can make to the app is to add a note. Of course you can always edit the CSV file. I am used to using a very detailed (paid version) app called "Blood Pressure Log - MyDiary" https://www.amazon.com/Zlamaniec-Blood-Pressure-Log-MyDiary/dp/B0178M2LDG - I may find it tough to break away from that, since it gives all kinds of averages for my Doctor. But, I ALSO like not having to key everything in, so we will see. The readings seem to be pretty much equivalent to my Omron 10. Seeing as I am reviewing this product just hours after receiving it, I can't say for sure how accurate it is. I can say it is not very far off. I can say that the Omron 10 is much more consistent than a couple of the wrist monitors I've tried. So, I am hoping that this unit will have the same consistency. Overall, so far, I am very satisfied. -------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE 7/17/2019 -------------------------------------------------------- So, about the cuff. I have been using the cuff that came with the device. Instead of trying to wrap the cuff around my arm for each use, I am leaving it velcroed at all times. Then I slide the cuff on and off. Not only does this make it easier to put on, but it also saves the Velcro from weakening. Further, I can safely say that this machine is pretty consistent. I have been using it side by side with the Omron 10 arm model. Last week's average for the Omron was 115/69 while the Greatergoods average was 120/68. So, I can certainly live with a few points here or there. The Bluetooth seems to work very well. For the best results, I recommend opening up the app on your phone before you start reading your blood pressure. I always test the left and the right arm, and this machine usually reads both readings to the phone (via Bluetooth) very consistently. For the price,. this is a very good unit.

This bluetooth smart blood pressure monitor is dead simple to use. I have it working and setup for two people. My only gripe is with the person selector, I wish the A/B was written on the plastic outside the selector instead of on the selector itself. The way it is "Person A" is with the toggle to the right and "Person B" is with the toggle to the left. That's backwards to me, but as long as I remember it isn't a big problem. I've used it with batteries, but I mostly us the AC Power cord to avoid burning through batteries. It connects to the app on my iPhone and my partner's Android with no issue, and is quick to report the readings. The whole process in the morning takes 1-2 minutes including setup and teardown. The app is simple and reports to Apple Health with no issues once you give it permission. It has simple graphs and logs that my doctor can easily review. No frills, and nothing complicated. I will say I have no problem with the comfort, but I have a relatively cylindrical upper arm. My partner has a more conical upper arm, and she complains that it hurts quite a bit when getting the reading.

There is no need to use the app or sync with your phone if you'd rather not bother with the technology, or if you don't want to share data with Greater Goods. You can set up the date and time without using the app. The result is a nice standalone bp monitor that displays blood pressure, pulse and (if detected) irregular rhythm. It gives the average of the past 3 measurements. The cuff is comfortable and easy to adjust. The monitor gives me a reading in about 20 seconds, which is pretty fast. The bp measurements are consistent with the measurements I got from another bp monitor that was checked and approved by my doctor. What would make this a 5 star product would be powering it with a lithium battery that can be recharged with a usb-c connection.

This product was recommended by my doctor and is far better than the BP cuff I have used for many years. The bluetooth interface with the Balance Health APP is a very usefull feature allowing one to keep and electronic record that can be reviewed with your doctor.

This is an excellent blood pressure device. We have a wrists device which is good, but this one is so much more accurate. My doctor suggested this type. Follow the directions as it makes a difference in the results.

I initially received the non-bluetooth model when Amazon shipped the wrong one. I contacted Greater Goods and they immediately shipped the correct one (and didn't even ask to ship the old back). Amazing customer service. As for the monitor itself, it works great. I've compared to a Qardio monitor I have which is also accurate (and FDA cleared) and the results match very well. The only reason I've stopped using the Qardio is the app has become unusable. Despite reinstalling and contacting support, it crashes on 80% of the measurements. And there is NO way to measure with Qardio without the app. This monitor will measure without your phone and store results until you can sync. The sync works great and the data is pushed to the Apple Health app (if you choose to). The app doesn't seem to show data that is already in Apple Health despite the fact that I gave it read permission which is the only negative I've seen. Not a big deal, but sometimes the apps display graphing data better than Apple Health. For those that have had trouble with accuracy, it is important you take your pressure correctly. There is a great guide on the Greater Goods website (I don't think I'm allowed to link to external sites but if you go to their site and go to the area for the 0604 monitor you should be able to find it.) In short, sit with feet flat on the ground and arm resting with arm cuff at heart level. The tube on the cuff should follow an imaginary line down your arm to your pinky finger. Relax for a couple minutes (deep breaths) and take your reading. Ideally, take 2-3 readings a few minutes apart but I usually only have time to take one (unless the readings seem way off). If your phone is one and the Balance app open, it will automatically sync after reading. The Balance app has been rock solid so far (unlike the Qardio one).

This is my first blood pressure monitor, so I don't know how it compares to others and can't speak to accuracy, but I like it so far. I've been using it every day for about 2 weeks. It is easy to use for measurements, easy to pair with both Android and iPhone, and easy to set up 2 different profiles. You can use the plug, but it also takes 4 AAA batteries. I use it with rechargeable batteries so I can move it around and I don't forget to measure each day. It syncs flawlessly every time, and if you have an iPhone and want it to sync with Healthkit, the app does that easily too. The app is minimal, but it does everything it needs to do. I'm really glad I decided to get the Bluetooth one to save myself manual entry. At first I was annoyed by the cuff; it is hard to get to fit and position correctly. I figured out it was so difficult because it is too big around and too long for me -- I'm only 5'1" and the circumference of my arm is 12" if that helps anyone out there. So I reached out to customer service to buy a smaller cuff, and they sent me one for free! I'll update this if I have any issues, but this is a great and affordable option for monitoring blood pressure at home.

Based upon my research before buying this i thought that this would be the best BP machine I ever bought. However I was disappointed to find that the cuff is really to big (it fits but with a lot of extra overlap) AND the red marking line on the cuff that you are supposed to put over your forearm artery is covered up by the cuff once you put it on! How are you supposed to know you have it in the correct position when it's covered up? I don't know why they couldn't simply extent the red marker line to each outer end of the cuff so you could tell the position on your artery. (it's in the middle of the cuff material). Looks like I'll be returning this.
