Canโt wait to see them grow up.
I got them in the mail on Valentineโs Day. I planted them in sphagnum immediately and kept them wet. Theyโre in the kitchen with about 3 hours of direct afternoon sunlight. I finger-check the medium moisture every day and add about a 1/4 cup of water until it drains out of the bottom. I donโt move them unless I absolutely have to and even then, very gingerly. I saw the first buds emerge on one of them on the 18th. Itโs the 21st and all 3 show multiple growth points. I love that they sent me a branched/crooked one so that I can finally try a fukinagashi willow. Follow their instructions and you canโt go wrong. If you have trouble, they are very active and helpful on their product support chat through Amazon. I didnโt need it this time around, but on a previous purchase. Very happy with my purchase -and this company- so far.

One made it, one didnโtโฆ.
I received two sticks and put them into a clear mason jar with the water from the tap. I didnโt do anything special, didnโt have any root hormone so I just waited. After a few days, they started to sprout roots, and the leaves started to grow pretty green. I canโt speak to the quality as one of them survived, and the other one didnโt. Out of nowhere the plant just got soft on the large stick and quit growing and turned brown. Never even made it out of the water so I donโt know what couldโve happened. The little one is still doing good.

Beautiful Bonsai!!!
I wanted to give it a couple weeks to see how it was working out before I left a review. I didn't have such great luck with my first cutting but that was my fault and my first lesson in NEVER USE MIRACLE GROW. This is going to be such a beautiful tree! The growth on it so far is just amazing! Just see for yourself in the photos I'm attaching. I started it in water just as they said two on the enclosed instructions. I may have cheated a little I used a rooting hormone after noticing just some bumps but no roots protruding yet. It definitely took off after that. I'm keeping it under a grow light on a seed heating mat. I ordered the Fox farm Ocean Forest soil and that's currently what it's in. The instructions say you cannot over water this and I have been taking advantage of that, lol. I probably just water it once a day, maybe twice if it's feeling on the dryer side because between the grow light and the heat mat it does go through moisture quicker. I also have it in a very small pot to prevent it from sitting in too much soggy soil until a good root system gets established. I also used Myco Supreme when I first planted it in the pot. The bonsai all-purpose soil that CZ Grain sells is also really good. With some of my other plans they seem very happy and it is a very well draining soil You don't have to worry about water logging or root rot. But to provide even better aeration I mix Bonsai Jack's Gritty Mix with the CZ Grain and that's what one of my other bonsai is in. Thanks CZ Grain!

Tried planting it finally died
grew great in water had lots of roots tree sprouted 2 branches, planted it and it had died almost, I put it back in water. Its growing again, But I'm not sure what to do? If I plant, it again will it die again. I am glad someone has good luck with it. Not that easy. I have a green Thumb. But this tree is not that easy to grow. What is the secret.? It died, ordered plant sole for the tree, planted it in the special sole to promote roods and it died. waste of money.

Growing just right.
I am going ahead and rate my tree even though it's early and just started. If it changes I will change this review. I got one big cutting and a small cutting. I placed in a glass jar of water. In two weeks I have huge roots on the big one. Small roots on the second one. Both have started sprouting green on top. I am super excited to place in a pot and hopefully get in the ground this spring. As long as you place in a full glass of water and keep full you should see it root just fine.

Good Value for the Money Pay close attention for Enclosed Instructions and Inspect your Cuttings
I have placed orders from this company before and I have had mixed success. In Every Case more than a single cutting has arrived and at least one of the cuttings has grown roots and sprouted foliage. (I am unable to rate how well the previous new cuttings faired afterward due to circumstances causing the plants to be neglected.) Concerning this order, I can report that I once again received three cuttings all carefully packaged and wrapped in a moist paper towel. (However One of those cuttings was wrapped upside down). Please take note that the buds of your cuttings should be pointed skyward. I am happy to report that on 24 February I immediately followed the enclosed detailed instructions and place the cuttings in soil. (Please Note that Spring was arriving early this year). By 1 March I noticed the first signs of growth on one of the cuttings. Upon closer inspection of all the cuttings this is when I noticed on of the cuttings was actually upside down. I quickly corrected this and can report today, 3 March, new growth on the one that was inverted. Of some concern that I have comparing growth is that the first cutting is not showing the "Silver-White" foliage that the one that was inverted is beginning to show. The larger of the 3 cuttings seems to be slower to take root or sprout new foliage but is not showing signs of death. I remain hopeful that it will show more signs of life in the future. I would have given this a 5 star review if the single cutting mentioned above was wrapped correctly. The directions are easy to follow with great illustrations. I find it a good value for the money with quality cuttings the extra cuttings are a great insurance practice. These plants reacted fast to LOTS of WATER and several times a day I spray them with mist. I remain hopeful that all 3 of the cuttings are actually white in color when the foliage fully emerges.
