Installed this Renogy DC to DC charger in my Cadillac for my AGM to lithium audio setup, and so far I’m very impressed. The unit feels solid, well built, and the wiring instructions were straightforward once I laid everything out. Installation took some planning, but the charger itself worked exactly as expected. It’s charging my auxiliary battery properly and gives me peace of mind knowing my audio system has clean, controlled charging without stressing my factory electrical system. I also like the safety features and the quality of the terminals and connections. If you’re building a dual battery setup for car audio, overlanding, or auxiliary power, I definitely recommend this unit.

Installed in my van to charge my Temgot 460ah battery off the alternator/battery. Easy to install, easy to set for your battery type. Lights stay on so a small draw but not significant. I got the 40amp version and it's great for my use. Went on an advanture with it on washboard roads for 3 hours- still performs like a champ.

This Renogy 40A DC-DC charger is poorly made. I installed it with a proper switched ignition signal on the IGN terminal, but the unit completely ignored it. It turned on immediately as soon as I connected power, even with the IGN wire completely disconnected. It has no respect for the remote turn-on signal and powers itself on with no input. This is a serious design flaw or quality control issue. I had to return it because it would have drained my main battery or caused other problems. Save your money and buy something better. This thing is cheap for a reason.

I bought another brand's DC to DC charger and purchased the Renogy one after the other brand did not function correctly. I am so glad I did instead of trying to mess with it. The installation was super easy (as it should be), and I only had to push the button a few times to tell the unit I had Lithium Phosphate batteries, and everything worked. I have also confirmed that the unit is charging my battery bank with a multimeter and visually on my battery monitor. Get this one if you are on the fence; I recommend it over trying to save money on a lesser-known brand.
