These CAP Barbell coated hex dumbbells have been an excellent addition to our home gym. Right out of the box, they felt solid, durable, and very well made. The grip is comfortable during workouts, and the weight balance feels consistent and secure while lifting. The coating gives them a quality feel, and the hex design is a nice feature since they stay in place and don’t roll around on the floor. We’ve used many different dumbbells over the years, and these easily compete with much more expensive options. Great quality, dependable construction, and an outstanding value overall.

Note: I returned it before I could get a picture because it was an accidental order. Pros • Outstanding equipment. Strong and not flimsy! It is big but works well and depending on your strength, not heavy at all. • A beautiful black with a rubber finish. • Has knurl grip for the grip material and is metal. Cons • Smell is an issue if you care for it. I personally like the smell of rubber for a home gym. Reminds me this is 't candy cane lala land and is instead a place for hard work to get done. • It will rust with time. You can take as good care of it as you want, but you hold it whole sweating, and it is not moisture or rust resistant. It will, not might, but will rust. Either be ready for that or go for rubber grip dumbbells. • Rubber can chip. If you prefer to throw your dumbbells around and take no caution for it breaking or ripping or looking weird overtime because you just can't seem to gently place them down like you have some sense, then go for metal ones, not rubber. Rubber is for those who are mindful. Lol. Jokes aside, overall amazing product! Strong, competent, and beautiful. No issues except if any of those cons are a concern for you.

I have bought the cheap ones and I have bought the expensive ones. The cheap ones have too many problems including breaking apart, too large of heads, and chunks falling off. The expensive ones are good but you pay a lot for the name and weight tolerance. All the CAPs I’ve bought, from 5 up to 85 are solid, well balanced, on weight, and well made. I’ve not had one break or lose a chunk of rubber. I do paint the weight with white enamel paint. It’s quick and easy.

These dumbbells are superior quality. The rubber coating is smooth and non-porous. The grips are lightly knurled and have a chrome finish. They are professional quality - like you might find in the gym. Because of the rubber coating, they don't ding up my hardwood floors like my old ones did. I really like how quiet they are when sitting them down. I thought these were a good value and I would definitely buy them again. Heck, I may be replacing all of my dumbbells!

I want it to start a small little gym at home, Because, gyms are packed and trying to use private gyms you might get lucky to use their, equipment! So using dumbbells you don't need a spotter at home. Now ordering the CAP Dumbell because of the grip made a lot easier to grip, very well coated and the price even beats Walmart prices! So if you're like me, looking to get back into exercising, start with CAP COATED DUMBBELLS and save that money and it's quality is great.

A good addition to my home gym setup. The rubber coating helps protect the floor and keeps the weights from rolling around. The grip feels comfortable and secure, and the overall construction feels sturdy for regular workouts. There was a slight rubber smell out of the box, but it faded after a few days.

This is my fourth set of dumbbells from CAP and they continue to impress me. The listed weight is accurate, and when I checked them on my scale one was only 0.1 pounds off, which is well within a tolerance I am comfortable with. The rubber coating does a great job protecting my floors in my garage gym and helps reduce noise when setting them down. They feel solid and well made, and I expect them to last a long time like my other CAP sets. I use them for presses, rows, lunges, and just about everything in my routine. The finish looks clean and durable right out of the box. For the quality you get, I think they are priced appropriately for the weight. I am rating these five stars because I would absolutely buy this set again.

Great! Love the thin handle - when weights get heavier, some brands build that weight into the handle, which makes it hard to hold for people (particularly women) with smaller hands. I'll be buying this brand from now on.
