All correspondence was through email due to time differences but anytime I've had a question, their support team has been quick to respond, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to helping. It's refreshing to see a company stand behind its products and make sure customers are successful. Between the upgrade to the NEMA 23 closed-loop stepper motors and the beefy 400W spindle, this machine offers incredible precision and cutting power for its class. No lost steps, no stalling—just smooth, reliable carving. ### Effortless Setup & Zero Tuning Required What surprised me most was how fast and painless it was to get up and running. Many desktop CNC routers require hours of tedious mechanical tweaking, squaring, and belt calibration before you can even think about running a job. The Masuter 3S worked right out of the box without any extra tuning. The assembly was straightforward, the geometry aligned beautifully from the factory, and it was ready to carve almost immediately. ### Seamless Software Toolchain Integration I prefer running a flexible, customized workflow, and the Masuter 3S integrated into it without a single hiccup. My current toolchain consists of: * **Design & Vector Work:** FreeCAD for mechanical modeling, alongside Inkscape and Gimp for 2D vector layout and image preparation. * **CAM & Toolpaths:** F-Engrave for generating clean, sharp V-carve toolpaths and engraving files. * **Machine Control:** CNCjs running on my PC to connect to the machine, jog the axes, and stream G-code. Connecting my PC to the router via CNCjs was completely plug-and-play. Communication with the controller has been rock solid, with zero dropped connections or buffering issues during long carves. ### Tooling & Bits: What You Need to Know The machine ships with a starter group of 1/8" V-carve bits. While these are fantastic for running your initial test cuts and getting a feel for the machine, you will definitely want to invest in some additional bits to do real, varied work—especially for pocketing, profile cuts, or surfacing stock. You can see in the video clips a few of the extra bits that I also ordered from FoxAlien. Pairing this 400W spindle with a proper selection of flat end mills, ball nose bits, and varying angles of V-bits really unlocks the full potential of what this machine can produce. If you are looking for a capable, rigid desktop CNC that won't force you into a proprietary software ecosystem or require days of tinkering just to get a clean cut, the Masuter 3S is an outstanding choice. I bought my Masuter 3S and extension last september. It has been a big dissapointment because it has been broke down way more than it works. It is not working now. There is no place to take it for repair so you have to rely on upon their email team for help. I have answered many questions and have sent videos and pictures. They were supposed to send me a new controller but now they ask for more videos to prove I have a problem. The same problem I have had for 2 months and have already sent videos. I think they are trying to stall me until my warranry runs out. Beware.

As someone looking to for their first CNC, and after looking at and researching many different manufacturers and machines, I finally decided to make the FoxAlien Masuter 3S my first machine. Being new to the CNC world, I was still apprehensive. Machine arrived quickly, well packaged and undamaged. Set up was very easy and took about 30 minutes. Step by step instructions, with photos made the setup a breeze. While the machine came with the spindle and bits, I had decided to use an existing palm router and 1/4" bits (also purchased from FoxAlien) and was having great success with my first projects! Since the original purchase, I have expanded my machine with the x-axis extension kit, along with FoxAlien's 40W laser and air assist pump. When initially receiving the laser component, I did have some troubles with getting the laser to function, however, FoxAlien's tech support was fantastic, with fast responses (even over the weekend), provided detailed videos and instructions related to trouble shooting and was able to assist me in correcting the issue. Overall, I would highly recommend the FoxAlien Masuter 3S, or any of their products, for anyone either looking to jump into the CNC and/or laser engraving world. From great quality products to awesome tech support, I would definitely recommend FoxAlien machines to help you make some great and fun projects!!

If anyone is interested in owning a CNC and new to the world of CNC as I am, this is the CNC machine to seriously consider. FoxAlien Masuter 3S is very impressive with its flexibility, power, and is so nearly plug and play, totally impressive product. The unit is well built, so far after several weeks of ownership, will not bog down during cuts, and works well with several different G-Code programs. There was an issue while unpacking. The dust baffles were missing. I reached out to FoxAlien’s after sale customer service and had an immediate reply and after a couple of emails, the missing baffles were shipped without issue. Definitely will be using FoxAlien for my CNC needs.

I bought this product because I like and trust Amazon for many purchases. I was looking to get a hands on without spending to terrible much money to see if I could learn yet another thing! I had a problem and the response to problems are excellent. But sad to say the problems was my fault for reading the spindle /laser switch incorrect. I had the spindle switch to the left and after watching a video they sent ... problem solved. They responded to my emails within 24 hrs. So far the machine and the extension are great. I modified the spindle setup and put a 110v more powerful spindle and used a dc to 110vac relay to turn on and off the new spindle. If you don't know electronics don't attempt this. The supplied 48vdc spindle works fine but has max. 10000 rpm and programs take longer to run.

Overall a good product. It only comes with one set of bits, but the description says two. Be aware this is inaccurate and there is no option to get these sent. The only option is to return the entire machine.

Over all pretty impressed. I had some things fail a stepper motor and a spindle They replaced the parts quite easily there customer service was fantastic. Yes it took 24 hours to get a responses but they always handled everything in a professional manner as long as you stay patient because of the time and distance. I would rate this Chinese company way above average . The unit works quite well. One thing I did realise is there is a trial and error period with these things, the trick is to go slow and take less depth per pass , buy high quality bits and use them for there purpose and take multiple detail and roughing passes, most importantly I found also that replacement of the x y axis belts with a high quality belt was quite imperative . It is a 15 dollar amazon purchase for the belt and we'll worth the time and effort to do so.. I have had zero errors and slippage since.

Absolutely love this CnC from FoxAlien. It arrived well packaged in one box which made it very heavy, it would have been better in two sections. Anyway the CnC was well protected. The instructions to put the pre-prepared parts together were easy to follow and I had the machine up and together within a couple of hours. I got mine in the sale but even at the recommended price this CnC is well worth the money for a starter CnC. You can buy an extension if you want a larger cutting area in the future, my advice is to buy the larger machine to begin with, I wish I had done that but an extension will be next once I get used to running this one correctly. Just one small thing to note, make sure you tighten all the screws tightly because on my first project the vibration quite quickly started to undo the screws and the gantry dropped forward, it gave me quite a fright but I learnt my lesson.
