Good AM4 processor, but a bit overpriced
One of the best in AM4 for workbench. If you want gaming, this is good too, just make sure to disable CCD1 (2nd CCD) in BIOS or Ryzen Master if you want to play games. Set all my 8 cores on CCD0 to 4650MHz and it is going stable since I bought this. Not the best one for AM4, but you don't get the X3D ones in stock anymore. It is overpriced. Around 28000 would be good for this chip.

BEWARE Seller Clicktech: Sold a Mislabeled and Defective Processor
I am writing this review as a serious warning to any potential buyers considering purchasing high-value components from the seller Clicktech Retail Pvt ltd. I purchased this processor, listed as an "AMD Ryzen 9 5900XT," on May 19, 2025, and it has been the source of a months-long technical nightmare. The component was defective right out of the box. From the very first day of assembly, my PC exhibited severe instability. It would frequently fail to boot, getting stuck on my motherboard's CPU debug light. I discovered a bizarre workaround where I had to let the PC sit unplugged for a while before powering it on; otherwise, it would fail every time. This is a classic symptom of a hardware power delivery fault, something no new component should ever have. For months, I dealt with this instability, assuming it was a complex software issue. Recently, after a power cut, the component failed completely and the machine will no longer boot under any circumstances. This led to an exhaustive troubleshooting process. I updated the BIOS, reseated every single component (CPU, RAM, GPU), cleared the CMOS, and tested each RAM stick individually in every possible configuration. The errors persisted, pointing back to a fundamental hardware issue. The breakthrough came when I investigated the processor model itself. I took a high-resolution photo of the CPU's serial number and verified it on AMD's official warranty website. The result was shocking: AMD's system confirmed the serial number is for a genuine AMD Ryzen 9 5950X. This is undeniable proof of what is wrong: I was sold a genuine processor that was mislabeled with a fake model name. A chip that leaves the factory with such a glaring error is almost certainly a defective unit that failed quality control and should never have been sold. This defect is the root cause of the instability and power issues I have faced from day one. I have spent countless hours and significant mental energy diagnosing a problem that was sold to me. This is unacceptable. I have all the photographic evidence and have already contacted Amazon support to file an A-to-z Guarantee claim for being sold a defective and mislabeled product. Please learn from my experience. Be extremely cautious when purchasing from this seller. You may not receive a standard, reliable retail product.

Not Happy with its performance.
Not happy with its processing power. It's performance is normal like other 8 core processor.

Old used product sold
Never buy from this seller. Got a used/old/damaged and a box that has been opened. Very sad that this is the quality sold here.

Placed order, item came a week earlier then expected and installed with a Noctua D12l and got running the day of delivery. I upgraded from a 3600 so the difference is insane. Render times are about halved and it is definitely something to see all 16 cores put to use. If you are trying to extend the life of an AM4 platform or holding out for AM6, I would definitely recommend upgrading to this chip which will still be a beast for another few years. 9950x 50% faster on average in multicore workloads but factor in the cost of ram and mobo upgrades and I would argue it’s not worth it.

Great for the price. The multitask is good and efficient. For AM4, this is pretty much like the 5950X, so basically the top of the line, if you will. Pretty sure it will last another good 5 years before it starts to fall off to newer tech and software upgrades. Good for gaming. Pair with a decent GPU and you have a mid-high tier gaming PC/Workstation. Runs at 70 Deg C under load with AIO. That's very good in my book.

Excellent processor for multi-task work. I use it on photoshop and few AI rendering projects and the extra cores are great. I upgraded from a 5800X processor, which had half the cores/threads as this processor and you can tell the difference when doing muti-task work. Having said that, if you are looking to buy this for better gaming, this might not be the one for you (Unless you are going from a really old AM4 processor). The single core processing is still really good but the 5800X for example, was almost exactly the same as this one in single core work, so dont expect better frames or anything if you are buying this for games. Games are still GPU heavy. If you want something for gaming, save your money on the processor and invest in a better graphics card, that is where you will see the most benefit. If you do not do media work or AI rendering etc. then other than a few seconds of faster loading of programs, dont expect the world of difference in what you see. Also, this processor does run a little more hot than my 5800X but I use a water cool AIO and on idle it is around 32C and in gaming it is around 45-55C and under heavy rendering load it hits 62C, still really good I think but if you are not using an AIO (or traditional water cooling system), then I would invest in a top tier air(fan) cooler (which are not that expensive and less parts to fail unlike in a AIO setup and can last longer but wont keep it exactly as cool, but still a fan system will do a decent job), but I would definitely invest in a top tier air cooler. A great buy for those in the AM4 world, but this will last me for years until I move to the new AM5 platform (or whatever is current at that time). Also to note it is good practice to upgrade your BIOS BEFORE installing this processor, will save you a lot of trouble and time.
