Perfect for a decent size area of the home. Super quiet. Barely hear this humidifier running, even at full speed. It's easy to fill when needed. All functions work and I love the mist as it comes out from the top. Love that the mist can be directed if needed. Lighting is nice and soft, too. Easy to put together and relatively easy to clean. I like that it will shut off once the tank is empty. The slot for fragrant oil is nice... just do NOT put anything but water in the tank. As for the app that can be used to control this humidifier, I prefer not to use it, but it works fine. There are some concerns as to the white dust that can accumulate on the unit itself and the surrounding area. If you don't like dust, then this may NOT be the machine for you. No issue for me, but I know others don't like the fine particles of the evaporated water left on all surfaces after a week of running this humidifier. Best to use distilled water if you don't want as much dust. Cleaning will take some time. The water will get "icky" in base after 3 days. While it's easy to take apart, each and every piece needs a wipe down that has any contact with the tank and base water. After a week or so, it's best to use vinegar to remove the hard, mineral deposits and possible bacteria that can build up. It definitely needs clean-up care. All and all, I love my Dreo humidifier as do all my plants that surround it. This is my 3rd Dreo humidifier and I can't imagine not having on during the cold season.

This is genuinely one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. Solely because of the quality and functionality. This humidifier is literally a set it and forget it kind of product. It connects easily to Wi-Fi and the apps functionality to be able to set a schedule for when you need to run is amazing. And being able to pick a humidity level and leave it is great too. I love the fact that there’s a dark mode where not even the buttons light up the smallest amount, but if you do choose to turn the lights on, this thing actually looks really really cool. Also the output is unlike any humidifier I’ve ever seen. Not only does it shoot a large, wide stream, but you can actually adjust the direction. I have had it for a week in my room where we run the air conditioner at 66°. This will normally dry the air out, and even in that condition, I’ve said it to 48% humidity and it’s not even halfway through the water that I filled it up with.10/10. Buy it.

After trying several types of humidifiers, I have fallen in love with this Dreo!! I live in a very low humid desert area and need help to humidify the dry air. It's surprised me how well this unit humidifies such a large area. It emits the mist from a long blade opening in the top - not just a small nozzle like most units. I love that you can lift the lid and fill from the top. It's totally quiet. I don't heat a sound. It is incredibly easy to clean. Assembly is amazingly easy. Settings are way simple and recognizably self explanatory. I bought my first one and because of it's effectiveness I got a second one for the other end of the house. Definitely a great buy for the money.

Getting the hang of the app wasnt to hard. Im not one for directions. It paired easily, three different light modes, amber, green and blue. The light is bright enough to light a room incandescently. I would give it another star if it were possible to turn the light down lower as it is brighter than I would like to be able to sleep. You can adjust the speed of vapor on manual mode . Sleep mode all lights off. Display can be turned on and off as well. 6 different speeds from what I can tell. -1, 1, -2, 2 -3 etc One thing I dont like is when filling, it is heavy and the plastic fittings on the bottom I fear to crack. Would be nice if it could go in the dishwasher to clean. I did NOT see anything mentioned about that. I would NOT try it without calling support. I doubt it tho. Sleeping in the very dry air of AZ and winter this is needed and you can peacefully sleep knowing there wont be a puddle anywhere. The mist is perfect and is slightly adjustable to angle on top. Comes apart for cleaning and has a reminder in the app. I like the app definitely. I like to be able to turn it on before I go to bed and turn off in bed or however I choose. I did order the filters that hopefully work and that is a separate mention. Hope this helps! More Later

I didn’t expect to develop emotional attachment to a humidifier, but here we are. This DREO Smart humidifier has fully inserted itself into my daily life like some kind of well-hydrated overlord. First of all, it has an app. An app. I can be sitting on my couch, wrapped in a blanket, feeling vaguely like a raisin, and instead of getting up like a peasant, I just tap my phone and—boom—moisture is deployed. The mist? Immaculate. Not aggressive, not suspiciously weak—just a steady, dignified cloud like it has a graduate degree in atmosphere management. My skin feels better, my plants look less judgmental, and even my sinuses have started acting like they’ve forgiven me for past neglect. Also, it tells me the humidity level in real time, which I now check way too often, like it’s the stock market. “Oh wow, we’re at 42%? Big day. Big day.” Bonus points: it’s quiet. Not “I think it’s off” quiet, but “I can sleep without feeling like I’m inside a haunted aquarium” quiet. Downside? I now judge every room that doesn’t have one. Dry air? In this economy? The Dreo HM524S works very well as a humidifier. It looks good, runs quietly, and the black color option fits nicely into a living room without looking like a cheap appliance. Output is strong, the tank is easy to fill, and there are no filters or wicks to replace. Wi-Fi setup was quick, and the app works reliably for basic control and scheduling. Where this unit falls short is the built-in hygrometer. As shown in the photo, the HM524S reports 48% humidity while multiple external hygrometers in the same room read around 24%. In my testing, the internal reading is consistently off by roughly 20–25%. Because of this, the auto mode can throttle output too early unless you manually compensate by setting a much higher target humidity. The humidifier itself performs well and does raise room humidity effectively, but the internal humidity reading should not be trusted as an accurate measurement of actual room conditions. If you already use a reliable external hygrometer, this is manageable. If you’re expecting precise “set it and forget it” humidity control based on the built-in sensor, this will be frustrating. Bottom line: Quiet, attractive, effective humidifier with a solid app experience — but the inaccurate built-in hygrometer is a real drawback and should be noted before buying.
