I just want to scream!
I did my research and deliberately chose the more expensive lighting set. Given that the LEGO set itself was just over £100, this felt like a significant additional purchase to properly complement it. At this price point, I expected better quality and better compatibility than the cheaper alternatives.Based on the product photos, I also assumed the lights would be more subtle — evenly lit, nicely blended — rather than the harsh, chunky bulbs you tend to get with budget kits. Spoiler alert: I was wrong. They’re just as bright and clunky, with individual bulbs that absolutely do not blend in.To be fair, the red flashing light for the satellite is genuinely lovely — super cute and visually spot on. The product was also beautifully packaged, clearly presented, and came with straightforward instructions. My 10-year-old followed them on his iPad, installed everything, and got it up and running without any issues. And that’s where the good experience ends.At nearly £80, this works out at well over £1 per light — yet it offers absolutely nothing more than kits available for a fraction of the price. The installation is messy, with wires running over the frame to the back, which doesn’t look great on something that’s meant to be displayed.Worst of all, it’s not wireless or battery powered. You have to plug it in, meaning you end up with a wire dangling down the wall from your framed picture. And even that might be manageable… if the cable was remotely long enough. It is not!The supplied wire is about a metre long, if that. It’s thin and black — great if you have a black wall, otherwise very visible (though I suppose at least it’s discreetly flimsy). Durability-wise, you’ll need to treat it like a spider’s thread and pray you don’t disconnect it.So, if you’d like your framed LEGO masterpiece to hang roughly a metre above your skirting board or socket — this kit is perfect for you!For the price, I expected much better. At the very least, extra cable should be included so the product is actually usable. We ended up having to connect it to another device just to reach a plug. Alternatively, you could use a power bank… which really shouldn’t be necessary at this price point.Overall, the kit appears to be good quality. We’re only on day one, so fingers crossed it lasts — though given everything else, I’m not holding my breath.

Excellent
This light kit for LEGO Art The Milky Way Galaxy (set 31212) is an absolute must-have that transforms the build from beautiful to breathtaking! The LEDs are perfectly placed to highlight the swirling arms, star clusters, and nebulae with stunning depth and glow, no visible wires or harsh hotspots, just a clean, immersive cosmic effect that looks like real space when lit up in a dark room. Installation was straightforward with clear instructions and all the pieces needed (including the power source), and the quality of the lights is excellent with consistent brightness and no flickering. The subtle illumination brings the set to life in a way that makes it feel like a true piece of art on the wall. If you're displaying the Milky Way, this kit elevates it dramatically. Minor con: it takes a bit of patience during the build to route the wires neatly, but the end result is worth every minute. A fantastic enhancement that makes the set even more special, highly recommend for any LEGO Art collector or space enthusiast!

Zero brightness control and nothing what it looks like in the photos.
I bought this to try it out on my Lego piece, judging by the video I saw i could control the brightness with a remote and that's what drove me to buy it.After assembling it and trying it, THE QUALITY LIGHTS WERE INCREDIBLY BRIGHT. No problem I thought, I thought there was an app or something and I missed the remote when opening it. Nope. APPARENTLY, you need to spend an additional £50 on another product that being the remote. This does function if you just want incredibly bright eyesore lights.I would return this, but I have it mounted to my wall so I need to cut it all out since the wiring is also suuuper visible, it's an eyesore. So that's a waste of £75.I have another one coming tomorrow for a different build I made, and you bet im immediately returning it when it comes.
