TP-Link TL-WN881ND 300 Mbps Wireless N PCI Express Adapter, PCIe Network Interface Card for Desktop, Low-Profile Bracket Included, Supports Windows 11/10/8.1/8/7 and Linux

I use number of TP Link computer accessories and have come to trust the brand. Cost wise and the quality of wifi signal is acceptable. It is only a 2.5 ghz wifi adapter, but performance is acceptable. Faced no driver issue though my OS is Linux.

I have been using it for 5 years in my office and it still works ok. The connection is solid once it is connected to the Wi-Fi network and there is no real latency issue or speed issue upto 50mbps. The only problem is that it sometimes fails to recognize networks and it needs to be turned off and on in the taskbar so that it can find a new wifi network. Also, sometimes it fails to auto-connect to the previous connected network but that has happened very rarely. It is still a very solid Wi-Fi network just be aware that there are certain quirks to it. Certainly, gets my recommendation.

Excellent network adapter for daily needs. Would absolutely recommend this for daily WFH, Online educational or daily internet streaming. As the description suggests, the adapter supports 802.11n, 802.11b, 802.11g standards and is single band i.e 2.4Ghz. The adapter also supports Linux, Windows which can be a game changer if you are a linux user Box contains Adapter, two antennas low profile bracket, installation CD-Drive (Drivers) and a instruction manual. Adapter is very easy to install as well, just plug it into your PCI-E port, and you’re done. It also includes a low profile bracket for smaller form factor CPU’s so it should work for almost all CPU cases. It also has a status light which blinks when in use, and two omni directional antennas which can be very useful if your router is in other room or in different direction from your PC. Would not recommend for high performance gaming as it tops out at 300 Mbps or 35.8 MB/s or If you require 5Ghz band or 802.11ac standard/ Wi-Fi 5 as your requirements.

The product works as expected.The range is good,i am able to get signal from my phone all around my room. The real reason i went for this card is because it supports Ubuntu(18.04) and windows 10 without any additional drivers installed.This is the latest version 2.0,so works with latest OS. Most USB based adapters won't work in Ubuntu,especially the ones with ac capability. I personally use Ubuntu(18.04) and i haven't faced any connection problem.I simply plugged the card in the pci port and after booting to Ubuntu,the card gets recognized without any additional driver installation,but for windows install the driver provided in the DVD or just download it from tp-link website for stable connection. While transferring files from my smartphone,i am getting around 8MB per second which is OK for me.May be others get better speeds with better smart phone. Any way,overall it's a nice product.But i suggest going for ac models other than b/g/n because,you get better speeds for the same money.But remember that most of them won't work in Linux or Ubuntu,that's the reason i went for this product.

Was fairly easy to setup and best is it works out of box with my linux distros (tested with ubuntu and popos, have tried live arch and it too worked). Ovio works out of box with my dual booted windows too… Speed is good. My router is in living room and speed sucks till it comes to my room. I was using a wifi repeater and those tiny wifi usb on my desktop. But this was capable of connecting to main router directly and give upto 40mbps on my 50mbps fiber connection (2.4ghz)… happy wfh

I have purchased TP-Link 300mbps PCIE Product. Just 4 hours ago I have received this product. Delivery was amazing, received the product in just 8 hours (same day delivery). Installation is vesy easy. After downloading the latest driver, speed was increased (checked via Ookla). You will face huge packet loss if you download anything. You can't play games at all. I went to play Valorant and game was keep lagging. this is the reason I've requested for refund. 4 years ago I have purchased a WiFi USB Dongle from a local store at 200/- rs. That dongle is far better than this 899/- product. I didn't expect this from TP-Link. Getting packet loss in PCIE version then thinbk what gonna happen if you buy USB one !!

My product seemed like it had been used before, but I didn’t mind at first — I assumed maybe a technician had opened it for inspection. However, while reading the manual, I noticed that one of the items (including the driver CD) was missing. I didn’t really need the CD since the driver is also available on the TP-Link website, and the card seemed plug-and-play anyway (though I did install the driver manually from the website). After using the card for a while, I noticed a recurring issue: it would randomly disconnect from Wi-Fi, sometimes after 12 to 6 hours of usage. It didn’t happen all the time, but occasionally even after rebooting, the Wi-Fi wouldn’t connect automatically and I had to connect it manually. This happened 3 times over 6 days. Eventually, I decided to apply for a replacement. I mentioned the missing driver CD and the random disconnection issue as the reason. Starting the replacement process on Amazon was surprisingly difficult. I tried calling support — the first representative listened and then transferred me to another person, who just raised a ticket. So, I switched to Amazon chat support. Even though I was transferred a few times, the replacement was finally initiated. The new product I received was sealed, the box was in pristine condition, and this time all the items were included.

Works right out of the box on both latest Linux and Windows 11. I have a connection of 30 Mbps. And I am getting a stable 20-30 Mbps when the router is placed on the lower floor 20 feet away with multiple walls in between.

I have gone through 3 (this is my fourth wifi adapter purchase in about a year) wifi adapters for my PC that I upgraded to windows 10. The three other ones all supposedly supported win10 or there were drivers for windows 10 that were really for windows 8. All three of the previous ones I spent many times getting different drivers trying to get the adapters to work. All of them suffered from similiar problems...the internet just cuts off for no apparent reason or the wifi adapter disconnects for some reason. I was skeptical because after 3 adapters you get that way. Also, the other three adapters were all usb and I have not eliminated that the adapter was not to blame but instead the usb ports and bad drivers. That is a big possibility however I have bluetooth usb, xbox controllers, usb storage, all work fine and without a problem. I have even hooked up 3tb internal hdd with a usb kit and transfered about 2tb worth of steam games over usb and (while taking many hours) never had a hitch. So I don't know. This one is a PCIe card and after 3 adapters, this one works great. With my other adapters, if I wanted to install a 10gb game from steam it would start out at ok speeds but would randomly cut off for no reason. I once started a download of Diablo 3, left to go to the store (5 mins away) and came back and it only downloaded about 600mb. This card downloaded GTAV at max speed without ever disconnecting or stopping. Steam gave me a time it would download in and I set an alarm for that time (plus 5min) and sure enough the game had started when I came back to check on it. So far I love this card. Speed is great. I can stream HD video and download and still get top speeds from steam.
