Used this awning today in the OBX and it was awesome. I normally don't write reviews. It was super windy, and it held up way better than I expected. We actually had to put our beach umbrella away because the wind was too much for it, but the awning had no problems at all. My only complaint is the stakes it comes with. They're basically useless in sand. Do yourself a favor and buy some decent sand stakes before your trip. Get four stakes and it'll be Rick solid Other than that, I'd definitely buy it again.

No instructions, but mounting and setup was fairly straightforward. No road noise or vibration that I can hear.

For the money this is a nice awning! We use it on our teardrop camper and it was easy to mount and easy to set up. Seems to be built well, happy with it so far!

The description wasn't clear on the mounting options that came with the canopy, so I thought I'd show what's included and share my solution to others considering this awning. First off, as others have stated the canopy appears to be well engineered and sturdy. I purchased some sand bags to hold it town on the beach, I think it should work great for that purpose. As far as mounting goes, it comes with two short flat brackets and two longer L-shaped brackets. It's designed to bolt onto a rack or roof basket in a semi-permanent way, but I wanted to come up with some sort of quick-release solution. I used some track nuts I had on hand to secure the L brackets to the bottom of my roof rack bars. Then I attached the shorter brackets to the canopy's track with a few washers to space them away just enough to allow the vertical leg of the L bracket to slip in. This makes a snug fit, but the canopy can still be easily lifted on and off of the L brackets. I then drilled and tapped a hole in the short brackets for a grub screw to lock it into place. This way I can loosen two grub screws with a hex wrench and remove the canopy and roof racks in just a couple minutes.

This replaced a similar awning I had by all top. This was much cheaper and just as durable. Be sure to secure the guy lines if there is any breeze. This can act like a sail. I love the look and the ease of setting up.

Mounting hardware is not universal for a Toyota 4Runner. AI stated it would fit my standard roof rack but it didn’t. Now I have to either have one fabricated or send the product back. It’s so frustrating.

Better than expected. I bought to be a replacement for Yescom. It turned out to be a much better product than the YESCOM.. The awning material is better and the poles and joints are better constructed. Overall a better option..
