This review is for the SmallRig P96 LED Video Light. Very nice light. I use it for fill in the day, and additional lighting when not in the sun. Adjustable color temp is great, and being able to adjust the light level is a plus. Fits well in to the cold shoe on the SmallRig Universal cage. Well built, and in general a decent product for the price. After having seen it, I would certainly purchase it knowing what I know now. Acts as a really decent fill... Battery life is surprisingly good, I used one all day, with it being on maybe an hour or more in total, (on and off operation), and when I put in on the charger only one light out of 5 was out. Took no time to recharge... Love this light. I am really starting to like SmallRig stuff!!

The SmallRig P96 LED Video Light is a fantastic addition to any video or photo setup. It’s compact but surprisingly bright, and the adjustable settings make it easy to get the right look for interviews, product shots, or everyday content.Build quality feels solid, and the portable size means it’s great on‑the‑go. Definitely worth it for the price if you want clean, reliable lighting without overcomplicated gear.

Definitely better than is $15 dollar version that feels like it was made out of recycled cardboard nd bottom bag plastic. Battery life is solid even when using the light on max power. Brightness is bright. I like the option to switch in between warm and white lights at the press of a button. More versatile than a verse man looking to play. Portable?! Extremely. It’s the size of baseball l, so essentially you could shove it right up your back pocket. It’s a mint unit, it’s a lot more quality than the $15 dollar previous version. Don’t waste the time or finances with the older model and just get this one instead.

Great little light for the price. Battery could last a little longer and more color options could be added. The light is mainly plastic including the shoe mount. Would gladly pay more for a more premium option for materials. Unfortunately the mount on mine broke and they don’t seem to sell a replacement so I haven’t been able to use it on my cameras anymore.

Excellent light. I bought 2 a few years ago. I still have one and the other died because a friend crushed it. If not, it would still be working.

The light output is fantastic. With 96 LEDs, a high CRI of 95+, and the ability to adjust the color temperature from a warm 2700K to a cool 6500K, it produces beautiful, natural-looking light. The brightness control is smooth, and it gets plenty bright for my needs in vlogging and food photography. The 2200mAh battery is also decent, giving me enough power for a typical shoot, and charging via USB-C is convenient. The design is also smart, with three cold shoe mounts that let you stack lights or add other accessories, which is a very handy feature.Where It Falls Short: The BodyMy main issue, and it's a big one, is the build quality. The entire unit is made of a plastic that feels incredibly lightweight and fragile. It does not feel like a premium product at all. The control dial for adjusting brightness and temperature feels flimsy, and honestly, I'm worried that it wouldn't survive a small drop. For a piece of gear that's meant to be "portable" and used with cameras, tripods, and other equipment, it feels weak and cheaply made. It gives me the impression that it was built to a price point, and durability was not a priority.Final VerdictIt's a mixed bag. Functionally, the SmallRig P96 does exactly what it promises. The light is versatile and high quality. However, the poor construction makes me question its longevity. If you plan to use this exclusively in a protected studio environment, it might be a good budget option. But if you're a creator who needs durable, reliable gear for travel and on-the-go shooting, I would be hesitant to recommend this. The great light performance is sadly let down by a body that feels like it could break at any moment.

Para fotografía de producto, retrato cercano, vídeo o como luz de relleno, cumple perfectamente.Lo primero que llama la atención es el diseño. Tiene una estética sencilla, moderna y muy cuidada, con unos acabados que transmiten calidad desde el primer momento. Se nota que han puesto atención tanto a la funcionalidad como al aspecto visual del producto. Además, es muy compacta y ligera, por lo que resulta fácil llevarla en una mochila sin ocupar apenas espacio.Uno de los detalles que más me ha gustado es el sistema de control mediante ruedas físicas. La intensidad de la luz se ajusta con la rueda central y resulta muchísimo más cómodo y rápido que los típicos botones que incorporan muchas luces similares. La regulación es muy intuitiva y permite realizar ajustes precisos sobre la marcha.La temperatura de color también se controla fácilmente mediante otra rueda independiente, permitiendo pasar de tonos cálidos a fríos de forma rápida. Esto da mucha flexibilidad para adaptar la iluminación al ambiente o al resultado que se busca en cada fotografía o grabación.Otro detalle muy bien pensado es que, cuando se alcanza el máximo o mínimo de intensidad o temperatura de color, la luz realiza un pequeño parpadeo indicándolo. Puede parecer una tontería, pero es una mejora de usabilidad excelente. En muchas luces de este tipo simplemente dejas de notar cambios y tienes que adivinar si has llegado al límite o no. Aquí queda claro inmediatamente.La zapata fría integrada me ha venido especialmente bien porque precisamente necesitaba una luz para montar directamente sobre la cámara. La instalación es rápida y segura, y convierte a esta luz en una compañera muy práctica para sesiones en las que no quieres cargar con equipo adicional.Además, incorpora una rosca estándar para trípode, lo que amplía mucho sus posibilidades de uso. Se puede montar en trípodes, brazos articulados, soportes de iluminación o cualquier accesorio compatible.La batería integrada recargable mediante USB-C es otro punto a favor. Hoy en día prácticamente todos tenemos cargadores y cables compatibles, por lo que resulta muy cómodo mantenerla cargada y lista para usar.También es destacable su buena reproducción cromática (CRI alto), algo importante para fotografía y vídeo porque ayuda a representar los colores de forma más natural y fiel.En definitiva, me parece una de esas herramientas que terminan utilizándose mucho más de lo que uno esperaba. Compacta, potente, bien diseñada, fácil de manejar y con detalles de uso muy inteligentes. Para quien necesite una luz portátil para fotografía o vídeo, me parece una opción muy recomendable y con una relación tamaño-rendimiento realmente buena.

Franchement cet appareil il est beaucoup plus pratique qu’un flash parce qu’il y a possibilité d’avoir une lumière chaude pour prendre des photos et c’est parfait, aussi pour faire des vlogs le soir c’est cool, je l’utilise avec ma sony-zv1
