It works great for me
I wanted a dash-attached screen in my car for navigating with my phone apps, and this was a great way to get that. I went to a big box electronics store to get an estimate for installing a carplay-compatible head unit in my vehicle and it would have cost at least $700 or more. So, getting all of these features for about $40+ is a bargain. I've been using it for close to a year and have had no problems.I didn't want to stick an adhesive mount to my dash so I purchased a DVD-slot mount separately and this unit mounts directly to that using the same 4-prong mount on the back of the unit.by far the biggest challenge was mounting and connecting the rear camera. I had to fashion a small metal plate that attaches to the license plate screws, and I had to strip and tap into a reverse light power to send power to the reverse camera, but now the reverse view turns on when I go into reverse, and I love having that too. I have a pickup and the tailgate limited my rear camera mounting options, but if you have a car you'll have more mounting options and probably easier access to accessing power and routing your wire to the head unit. But, if you don't care about installing the rear camera, you can have this thing mounted to your dash and ready to use in just a few minutes.I have the unit powered with the accessory power plug that came with it and I used twist ties to organize the power cable, the 3.5mm aux output and the rear camera cable as best I could. If you are a stickler for not having a bunch of wires hanging on your dash you might invest some effort into cable organizing.

Bricked Unit After Update Attempt
I bought this Capapro 7" Portable CarPlay screen a short time ago because of the good initial reviews and the claim of "reliable technical support."I followed the built-in online upgrade process exactly as instructed and used the official IVT244.img file provided by the device's own QR code. After the update completed, the screen is now completely unusable: it shows only a solid blue background with a thick horizontal line and visible scan lines. The backlight works, but there is no menu, no touch response, and no way to access CarPlay or settings.I tried:Extended power drains and resets (unplugged for 30+ minutes multiple times)USB recovery attempts with the same firmware fileChecking for the device's Wi-Fi hotspot (none appears)When I opened the unit to investigate further, the board is an Allwinner F133-B with PCB revision F18_V5.0_20250221 and shield marking JL-M70B013-N22WS-T503518. There is no physical reset button! They removed it, as though it's a cost saving measure!I have been unable to contact the seller for the correct matching recovery firmware. There is no "Contact Seller" button visible on the product page or my order, and no direct support email or phone is provided despite the product description promising reliable technical support. This unit is now a $43 paperweight after following official instructions. I would like the seller to provide the proper variant-specific firmware or arrange a replacement. Photos of the failed screen and motherboard are available if needed. If you're considering this unit, be aware that the firmware update process can brick it and support appears very limited.

A Game-Changer for My 2008 Mercedes-Benz C300
I recently purchased this wireless portable CarPlay car stereo for my 2008 Mercedes-Benz C300, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision.Easy Installation & Seamless ConnectivityRight out of the box, the setup was straightforward. Connecting it to my car was effortless, and within minutes, I had wireless CarPlay running smoothly. The interface is responsive, intuitive, and lag-free, making my driving experience much more enjoyable.Backup Camera: The Best Addition! While the stereo installation was a breeze, the backup camera setup took a little longer. Since my Mercedes isn’t the easiest to disassemble, running the wiring inside was a challenge. However, after watching a few YouTube videos, I figured it out. The effort was absolutely worth it!Once connected to the reverse light, the backup camera worked flawlessly. I’ve wanted this feature for so long, and at one point, I even considered selling my car just because it lacked a backup camera. This single device has saved me thousands of dollars, allowing me to keep my beloved car while upgrading its functionality.Final VerdictIf you own an older model car without CarPlay or a backup camera, this is a must-have upgrade. It’s an affordable solution that brings modern features to your car without expensive modifications. Highly recommend it!

Very good quality device.
This is quite a handy device for older vehicles that do not have the lastest in audio equipment in their vehicles. I have a 2007 Tahoe with a single DIN audio system which works fine, but now having the options of phone mirroring you have far more choices at hand. The option of two different mounting devices is a plus, and the ease of mounting and setup is beyond easy. As others have stated there is a bit of lag time on some things but that is to be expected. I have to use the aux cable in order to play through the car speakers but the sound is clear and unhindered so far. Haven't had the option of trying the navigation as I already an aftermarket Garmin navigation system installed and I love that one so may not use this ones option other than to test it out. so far the unit is functioning as expected and as described, no problems so far. Controls are responsive and clear to understand. The only thing I do not know is the maximum size of the SD card it will support as there is nothing in the user manual about it, may not use but would be nice to know. I have only had it one day but would go so far as to recommend it.
