It's always hit or miss whether a cat will like a toy but thankfully both the boys enjoy this one! If you have a cat who likes attacking your hands/feet under the covers, then it would be very surprising if they did NOT love this toy. It's the same thing. My younger cat loves doing that, so I figured he'd like this, and heck yeah he does. He even likes resting next to it (as pictured) before he gets his next energy burst. This toy is great if you have some cats that are more active than the others and need to burn more energy. My older cat likes to play with the younger, but he likes lighter play and gets bored faster which the younger one doesn't understand. This tires out the little one and keeps him from bothering his older brother too much, who mostly just wants to chill and watch birbs. He finds it entertaining to watch little bro pouncing and chasing the toy when it's covered. He himself likes to do the lazy overstimulation thing where he rolls around near it and attacks it when he feels like it. We've had other chaser toys in the past but I think this one is the best so far. The rubber material gives really good grip on non-carpeted floors and does get some good speed. The traction also keeps it from getting stuck on rugs and carpets, which it definitely won't go as fast on. The boys really like the chirping and different kinds of movements. It seems like it moves a little differently compared to other chasers. It does indeed try to plow stubbornly through obstacles but not as much as others I've seen. Other times it will bump into something then bolt in the opposite direction. It seems like it runs then comes right back sometimes? It's also good at running under furniture that's tall enough, which the cats love. Overall it just seems to have slightly different programming than similar kinds of toys. As long as this toy holds your cat's interest -- and I think it would, because they can both hunt (with cover) and chase with the ability to capture (without cover) -- then this should be able to meet just about any level of activity needs. An interested cat will likely go after it as long as they have the energy. I like to let them start by hunting with the cover, then let the toy run around so they can get the satisfaction of a catch. Other good things: the floofy ring around the outside doesn't get caught in the toy, and if any kind of hair gets caught then you can take it apart pretty easily with a tool they give you. I update my reviews if things change, but so far so good. Battery life is good and two hour charge time. I'll update once I get a better feel for how it works overall. Here's hoping the kitties stay into it and that yours would like it too. It's a unique toy if anything so your cat won't be able to say you never got him/her anything new and cool.

All three of our cats love this thing, and it’s super cute and so fun for us to watch them play with it. One cat loved it immediately, one on the second day, and the other cat on the third day. So I’d recommend to give them some time and let them see you play with it too at first. I’d also recommend to only have the ball outside the enclosure if you attach the soft ring and feather. It’s more quiet with the attachments and gives them something to grab which provides the full experience of chasing and catching their prey. Without the attachments it kind of scared them. As soon as we put them on, it was a completely different story. One cat prefers it in the enclosure, the other two prefer just the ball. Kind of depends on your cats personality. I also love that it’s rechargeable and shuts off automatically after a period of inactivity. Less maintenance. Overall they love it and we love it. Worth every penny.

This toy works exactly the way I hoped it would. The little accessories keep things fun and fresh, and my cats stay totally engaged. I usually let them play with it for about an hour a day and then tuck it away. They’d happily go at it for hours, but I’m trying to keep it exciting and make sure it lasts. All three of my cats use it, and it’s held up really well to their rough-and-tumble play. It makes a bit of noise, but nothing annoying. I love that it twitches on its own to grab their attention. It’s a good value and I would recommend it.

If the cat was rating it, it’d be 5 stars. This is his favorite toy to mine and my partner’s dismay! It’s not a bad toy, it’s very engaging and has held up great for over 6 months. However, I truly wish it had a silent mode where it doesn’t chirp. It has 3 settings of different speed/interaction level but all of them have a random chirping. The thing is, it’s already kind of loud just from rolling around so it’s extra loud with that. I LOVE that it has the ability to remove the outer part so you can remove hair or anything that gets tangled in it. Our cat loves taking the yellow part off, and the feather is a nice touch as well. It goes off every few hours of inactivity which is great for the kitty but terrible if you forgot to turn it off before bed. Sometimes it will fall asleep under the couch and I will have to fish it out with a broom. Overall, I think most cats will love this toy, whether you hate it or not.

Edit: I'm dropping the number of stars because after 4 1/2 months, the toy no longer works the way it should. It will come on if touched but it barely travels and doesn't wake up and move on its own anymore. I've cleaned out fuzz but that didn't help. I feel like it should have lasted longer. The second one I bought doesn't work as well as the first one did, so it seems the quality is inconsistent. I'm sad because my cats really loved this toy and originally it was great. Earlier review: My cats love this toy. They had gotten pretty tired of the toy with the arm that spins around under the cloth and needed something else. I found this and I'm so glad I did. They love pouncing on the round bag to try to catch it and they love it when I take it out and let it roam around the room. One of my cats likes to grab it and carry it around and even put it in a box so it couldn't get away. I love that it's rechargeable and will shut off when they quit playing with it. It also gets their attention when it wakes up and starts moving or chirping at them. One time when it was out, something happened, and I had 3 cats sitting in a circle staring at the toy. I checked to see what was going on and found that it wasn't working but it must have gotten caught on something because the one end was out of the gear. I just had to pop it back in and it was running around again. So far, they have been playing with it multiple times a day, every day. We've had it almost a month now. I do make sure I put it back in the sealed cover when they're finished playing with it freely because I'm afraid it will run off and if the battery dies, I'll have a hard time finding it. I highly recommend this toy for cats who like to play.

I have a 10 month old orange kitten that is hyperactive & curious. He has destroyed and broken several things by jumping, climbing and running crazily through the house so wanted a toy that would hopefully tire him out a little. This is perfect! He has played with it from the beginning. Have had it a week and he still loves it. At first I kept it on green mode but the battery only lasted a few hours, so I put it in yellow mode. That helped a lot. It is only active while my cat plays with it then it goes to sleep mode, waking up periodically by chirping & spinning to get his attention. It works most of the time. I think he gets tired now & sleeps during this wake up call. He runs & jumps on it sliding across the floor. He pounces on it, bites it and sometimes he just watches it move around. At least he is being entertained. I like that the ball can also be used by itself & run around the house. I don’t use the ball by itself because my cat will take it to places where I can’t find it so it stays inside the mat. The mat is durable because he paws and tries biting it but still looks great. It is very lightweight and so he does move it around the room when he pounces on it. After playing with it awhile, I usually have to get it away from the wall and spread it out again. But I don’t mind doing that. At first I was worried if the chirping noise would be too loud or irritating but it isn’t. It is fine and really just loud enough to get his attention. In the yellow mode the battery lasts awhile. I have only let it go without charging for 2 days but it still had life when I took it out to charge so it would go longer. I want him to enjoy it as much as he wants during the day so it is charged at night. The first day I had this he played with it so much he was exhausted at the end of the day. This is a great toy to have for your cat. My 7 yr old cat has even started playing with it. It takes him awhile to warm up to things but I guess he sees the kitten enjoying it so decided to play too. I highly recommend this toy.

Resounding success! My cats were fascinated by this for at least half an hour the first time around solid. The second time around, not quite as long, but still lots of love for this item. I upgraded it by putting in the older model of the same chasing toy that I had before so now I’ve got two chasing lights inside the thing and that’s great for the two kitties. That’s perfect.

Our Oriental Shorthair loves this toy. It keeps him entertained in two different ways: with the ball hidden under the cover in hide-and-seek mode, and also as a standalone ball toy. That makes it feel like two toys for the price of one, which is a great value. It’s been a fantastic way to keep him active and engaged indoors. Customer service was excellent as well. Overall, great product and very happy with the purchase.

Complètement validé par mon chat ! La balle se déplace de façon aléatoire, fait de la lumière de la couleur du mode choisi, des vibrations et un gazouillis d’oiseau aussi de façon aléatoire. Quand elle rencontre un obstacle elle se repositionne et repart de plus belle ! Mon chat est fan, avec le tapis il bondit dessus et hors du tapis il traque les déplacements de la balle avec une très grande attention. Je trouve l’autonomie de la batterie très correcte. Ce jouet permet au chat de jouer sans efforts de notre part. Il n’y a qu’à profiter de le regarder jouer !

I thought it would be too small for my Maine Coons, but they love it. Well, one loves playing with it and the other prides himself on laying on it and stopping it. They slept well after running it down.
