How is this different from Lugol's Solution 5%?

Lugols solution is in a form that is useful for treeting radiation exposure, but may occasionally inhibit thyroid function (temporarily) in a rare few individuals. Nascent iodine should not contain any potassium iodide.

Is it true the iodine loses it's nascient nature when mixed with water after 2-3 hours? Why is this in purified water?

There is no such thing as "nascent iodine." From wikipedia: "Thus, nascent iodine does not exist and medicines purporting to contain this substance are misrepresentations." So this manufacturer (like others who use this label) is simply lying to you. There is no loss of nascient nature because it NEVER existed. How can elemental iodine exist? it's missing an electron.... it will immediately combine with the nearest I atom to form molecular iodine (I2). So its always found in its pure form as a diatomic molecule I2. So fact that this is in water doesn't matter since it was never "activated" in the first place.

It is noted that the product lasts up to 3 months. Does this mean it expires in 3 months or there are up to 3 months of doses available?

This is a 30 ml bottle, which should be 600 drops. That would be 100 days (3 1/3 months) if you take six drops per day. If you take three drops per day, it should be a 200 day supply (6 2/3 months).
