XRC REAR BUMPER W HITCH - SB76855

Mounted up fairly easily...looks great....packaged well - no chips/dings/scratches. Coating seems strong and durable (we'll see). It's stout but one person can mount it without damaging if you think it through and use proper tools for cushioning, lifting, and positioning.

You WILL need help installing this bumper, hopefully by someone with a floor jack. You WILL also need a tire relocation bracket. Even with a stock wheel and tire, your tailgate will not close because this bumper is not as thin in depth as the stock one. You will also need to remove the stock recovery hook below the stock bumper. The bumper looks great and is very sturdy. It comes with a small bracket to hold the plug for your electrical hookup for towing. The only complaint I have is that the bracket isn't addressed anywhere in the installation instructions, not even a picture. There's nowhere to mount it on the bumper, either. I ended up using self-tapping screws to mount it to the bottom of the Jeep's frame beside where the bumper mount is.

People will tell you that Smittybilt stuff is "Chinese crap"; I disagree. I have this bumper, along with the matching front on my Jeep JK. While the front did need some grinding of the lower frame rails to allow for clearance, this was stated in the instructions, and easy to do with a basic grinder and flap wheel. The rear bumper bolted right up, no modification needed at all. It fits great, looks good, and in my opinion a great value. It would cost me about what I paid for this bumper shipped to my house to buy raw steel and supplies to build my own, plus forty hours of labor. For what I paid for this bumper I have zero complaints; looks good (IMO), fits great, is of decent build quality, paint finish is also nice. I am happy with this purchase, and would buy this bumper again.

Worked perfect on my Jeep.

Great bumper. Reasonable price. Installed it alone with a speed jack. 8 bolts and it’s on! Doesn’t budge when I stand on it or pull a small utility trailer. I had no problem with it interfering with my tailgate, like others have mentioned, it’s a close fit, looks far better than stock. 10/10 would buy again and recommend to others. It doesn’t come with tow hooks so throw some in your cart!

Install on a 2015 JKU. Overall, I’m pleased with the bumper...after installThe goods: solid bumper, looks great and was packaged very well. I would have given it 5 stars because of the price and product if it actually was “bolt on” for my application. Ultimately,for a little over 200 dollars and some extra weekend time in my garage it was worth it.The bad: the gen 1 smittybilt curse struck. the install took a bit of massaging and fabrication mainly due to one of the 4 hitch bolts not lining up. I ultimately dropped the muffler and used a lot of leverage, cursing, and a drill to get it to work.

Rear bumper looks great! Took me longer to get the old bumper off than it did to get this one on. I needed one other set of hands to hold it up while I hand tightened the bolts and then it was smooth sailing. Had to remove stock rear tow hooks to insert frame brackets but the finished product is amazing!Bumper is heavy, sturdy and I've been able to tow my small trailer. No damage during shipping and no rust! Perfect fit for my 2 door 2015 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Hard Rock edition.You should note that if you are using the stock tire carrier, you will need an adapter to add more spacing cause the spare tire will now hit the bumper. I have an aftermarket tire carrier so I had no issues, just had to adjust it out some.

This bumper is very solid and well built. I put the bumper on myself and it’s difficult to put on. I’m sure it’s a lot easier to install with two people. I will give you a hint on installing. If you line up the side bolts... very rear first and stick a punch or rounded awl it’s a lot easier to align the front side bolt and place the bolt in. Once started simply pull bolt towards you and the plate tightens up along the edge and aligns the rear hole. Pull out the punch or awl ( whatever you used to align the rear hole), and then install rear bolt... that’s it.A+ Quality and heavy steel.......
